• Movement Snacks

Richie hosts this episode as DPT William Schopp joins the podcast to talk about all the different ways to know your body. We start with a killer interview with William, learning about what got him into Physical Therapy and his passion behind it to open his own practice.

Derek also accomplishes the monumental goal he's been chasing for almost 8 months, and the boys ask about the different stages of that journey. He also shares about the tough mental aspects during the journey and the rollercoaster it was to get here.

Check out William's Instagram (and all other socials): @themovementschopp

    Show Notes:

    • Do movement snacks! Get up a move for a bit, stretch, etc. especially if you are a desk jockey/weekend warrior.
    • Consistency is key (or as Richie says, Consistency Compounds): learn the correct movements, and do them for decades.
    • 4 pillars of health: Sleep, Stress, Nutrition, Movement (+ a psuedo-fifth pillar: Relationships)
    • Book recommendations from William: Killing Comfort by Jerred Moon, and for entrepreneurs, read The E-Myth by Michael E Gerber

  • You Are What You Sleep

Brenton Cosden joins The Baguette Boys to discuss the importance of the age-old adage "You Are What You Eat", but the conversation veers off into another fun topic... sleep! You could say this episode is about the "input" you give your body - both food and sleep.

With the turn of a new month, The Baguette Boys set new goals; all of us are shaking it up pretty big this month by dropping or adding some huge goals.

    Show notes:

    • DM us if you'd like Derek to do the Big Mac Rap and post it on Instagram
    • Healthy foods/snacks we like: veggie/fruit juice, peanut butter toast (with or without avocado and olive oil), smoothies (w/Collagen, Green Superfood powder), toasted oats with peanut butter, berries, milk and chia seeds
    • Brenton's moral philosophy: stoicism
    • Fad diets aren't sustainable, favor exploration, health, and happiness
    • Drinking alcohol affects your recovery, willpower, and performance for many days afterwards (even just one drink!)

Weekly Challenge: Eat food you didn't like in the past OR try new food you've never eaten before.

What drives you? The Baguette Boys talk about motivation and how hard it is to stay in that motivated zone. A persistent theme throughout this episode is "unconscious motivation" - our idea of baking in your motivations into your habits. We also discuss about our personal motivations, some tips to keep going, and more.

Before talking about motivation, we hear about a tough, anxiety-filled week from Derek, which comes at a perfect time with this episode on motivation. Connor and Richie remind him that tough times don't last; tough people do.

Starting a new theme of "It's All On You" the Baguette Boys bring on a guest that was on from season one: Austin "Jojo" Johnson.

We talk in depth on confidence, especially in the context of cockiness and arrogance. All 3 are interrelated, but certainly not the same. We also share different moments of our lives where we felt the "peak" of confidence and our "valleys" of confidence.

Weekly Challenge: Pick a day this week, and start the day by writing down all the things you do in the first 2 hours of the day. Put a "+" next to any habit that is positive, a "=" next to anything that is neutral, and a "-" next to anything you'd like to drop from your life or change.

He has been a huge influence on all 3 of us, and his insight this episode lives up to the hype! On top of teaching, he does a multitude of other hobbies - some very incredible, which we talk on the episode. Along with our regular discussion, we touch on the chaotic, scary state of America right now. While we are removed from the situation, the turbulent times in our country & the Capitol still have a heavy effect on our journey to success.
