Everything you need to know about this stellar industry-wide conference; from what to expect, to 2023 highlights, to even after the event, we’ve got you covered!

What is Podcast Movement anyways?

You can probably guess from the title that it’s a conference all about podcasting. From their own mission statement, “Podcast Movement educates, informs, and brings together podcasters and industry professionals to help build a better tomorrow for the podcast industry.” It’s an opportunity for everyone involved in the podcast industry to come together and share their knowledge and expertise.

Attendees can learn from industry leaders, experts in the industry, and even podcasters themselves! It’s a fantastic way to network within the industry, as well!

Where’s the conference being held?

This year the conference is being held in Denver Colorado from August 21st through August 24th.

Who’s going?

Other than yours truly, a whole slew of podcasting companies, advertisers, and podcasters are joining this year! Some might be speaking while others may be hanging out on the exhibition floor

We’ll have a booth on the exhibition floor, so come swing by and say hello! 👋

What’s there to do during the conference?

Plenty! You can check out the various talks and panels happening, get your hands dirty with a workshop or two, unwind at sponsored after parties, and even attend a morning yoga class!

See the full schedule on the Podcast Movement website.

How do I get the most out of my time there?

An excellent question! We recommend going in with a game plan to ensure you get the most out of your experience at Podcast Movement.

1) Review the schedule before heading out

Podcast Movement posts their full schedule a few days before the conference is set to start. It’s best practice to take a careful look at the schedule to see what events you’re most interested in attending. This also helps you to know when to get to the venue!

2) Keep an open mind

This is one of the biggest podcast conventions in the industry, so there are tons and tons of people to meet with and learn from. Of course, there are veterans who are very much sought after by everyone, but there are also lesser known folks with an abundance of expertise who are willing to share with those who ask. Keep an open mind when mingling with people; you never know what you might learn!

3) Talk about yourself

You, too, have a wealth of wisdom to share! Before you go, think about the projects you’re working on and what you’ve learned from those experiences. It’s more than likely someone will ask you what’s going on in your world, so don’t be afraid to share!

4) Put yourself out there

Along with talking about yourself, don’t be afraid to network and get to know other attendees! One good way to do so is to host a small networking event in your hotel or nearby restaurant. Give out personal invitations to those you met, and got along with, during the conference.

And accept invitations to meet from others! Plenty of other folks may be wanting the same thing as you – so take the opportunity to meet for coffee or a quick meal.

General Advice

All the bits and ends for enjoying your time at Podcast Movement!

1) Don’t hide in your hotel

It may be tempting to rest (or play!) the day away at the Gaylord Rockies Resort, but then you’d be missing out on the reason you’re at Podcast Movement. Take advantage of the conference and build relationships with key folks in the podcast industry. You’ll be thankful that you did!

(And hey, maybe hit the waterslide with that new connection you just made!)

2) Keep up to date with the conference app

Podcast Movement has an accompanying app to help you stay on top of the conference, and know when social gatherings are happening! Be sure to download it before you head off to the conference.

3) Be careful with the booze

Sharing drinks with fellow attendees is a fine way to socialize, but keep in mind that you don’t drink too much! Attending a conference hungover is not an ideal way to spend the day.

4) Where what makes you feel confident (and comfortable)

There’s no formal dress code at the conference so you’ll see folks in a range of outfits. Our best advice: wear something that makes you feel confident but isn’t too uncomfortable. You’ll spend the better part of the day moving around the venue, so you want to ensure you’re not giving yourself blisters or needing to re-adjust constantly.

We hope you have a blast at Podcast Movement 2023! Be sure to stop by our booth for a chat! We’re looking forward to seeing you all in person!
