Kris and David are guestless as we discuss the (almost-)week that was September 20-24, 1992, a Patron-requested show. Topics of discussion include:

    • A major New Japan show in Yokohama that’s unfortunately best-remembered for the major injuries suffered by Rick Steiner and especially Masahiro Chono.
    • The NJPW vs. WAR feud heating up.
    • An update on the status of the Takano brothers and the details they gave the media about SWS splitting into WAR and NOW, with SWS owner Hachiro Tanaka providing start-up costs for both and making everyone who signed with NOW sign non-disparagement agreements.
    • Nobuhiko Takada defeating Gary Albright for the UWFi’s Real Pro Wrestling World Heavyeight Championship at a major show in Osaka.
    • The Junkyard Dog winning the USWA’s Unified World Heavyweight Championship in Memphis.
    • Jim Cornette’s plans for the babyface side of SMW getting crushed by the WWF signing Steve Armstrong and Terry Taylor in the same week, with their debuts coming at the TV tapings in Manitoba.

This is one of those rare shows that doesn't have any Saturday TV shows, so there are only a couple of clips, but there’s still a lot of stuff going on here, so take a listen!!!

    • The WWF's burgeoning relationships with SMW and the USWA, the Torch surveyed fans and people in the business for their opinion of how this arrangement will turn out.
    • Two episodes of Monday Night Raw, which are highlighted by the “Who is Lex Luger?” sit-down interview segments, which are extremely interesting to listen to 30 years later.
    • The skepticism regarding Lex Luger and his new character and is he was genuine enough to pull it off or not.
    • Super Vader terrorizing UWFi during a week with a lot of indie shows at Korakuen Hall.
    • Eddie Guerrero and Love Machine team up for the first time in AAA.
    • Dave Meltzer at SMW Fan Week and his thoughts on where SMW is compared to his last trip the prior November, plus full reports of the shows he went to during our week as well as lots of great audio from TV.
    • The WWF vs. USWA feud going full force in Memphis as we have heel Bret and Owen Hart going off on in Memphis in preparation for the MOTHER OF ALL MATCHES.
    • The sheer insanity of WCW at the time, as they are a complete mess both in and out of the ring especially trying to promote shows in Atlanta.

It’s always fun having Chad on, and this was a damn good show, so take a listen!!!

    • The complete awesomeness of New Japan at the time in every way, especially the booking, which was some of the greatest of all-time.
    • The rest of the week’s Japanese news, featuring Dave Meltzer attending an All Japan Women show at Korakuen Hall as it was starting to become clear that the promotion’s best days were behind it.
    • The first Nitro since the infamous nWo attack at Disney World — which didn’t have any live nWo presence — and how the WCW babyfaces were trying to cope with that.
    • News on WCW’s negotiations with Jeff Jarrett, Sean Waltman, and The Can-Am Express, as well as how the office were trying to plant rumors about Bret Hart coming in to try to help pop a big buy rate for Hog Wild.
    • ECW losing their TV time slot in New York yet again, albeit this time before ever airing on the station.
    • The famous "The Doctor Is In" show at the ECW featuring the debut of "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and “KISS” getting interrupted by The Sandman, among other things.
    • WWF morale being down as house show business underwhelmed.
    • The WWF pushing Bret Hart on TV in absentia to quell those WCW rumors despite Bret being a free agent.

…and a LOT more. This is an extremely fun show, so LISTEN NOW!!!!!!!
