• Where is the Opportunity?

Six years ago, I was on a path that should have ended very differently.

I barely made it through undergrad. A close friend of mine was murdered. Then a category five hurricane took everything I owned and I landed in the USA with three shirts and a backpack.

What saved me wasn't a plan. It was my brother dragging me to rooms full of people I had no business being around. I was working maintenance at a hotel by day and sitting with investors at night. Same guy, two completely different worlds.

Most people are convinced they're short on opportunities. You're surrounded by them, and the real question is whether you'd even recognize one sitting right in front of you.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why one event and one flight home triggered an unexpected emotional moment.
    • How a devastating problem can become the single greatest opportunity.
    • Why changing your environment changes the opportunities you can access.
    • Why the rooms you sit in matter more than most people think.
    • How growth tends to happen only when you are uncomfortable.
    • Why proximity does not guarantee success but exposes you to more chances.
    • Why the opportunity you are praying for may already be sitting there.
    • How confidence, skills, and experience change what you are able to see.
    • Why becoming a new version of yourself matters more than new opportunities.
    • How overthinking and waiting to feel ready quietly kill momentum.
    • Why the people who create momentum move before having every answer.
    • How delivering real results opens doors you never asked for.
    • How speaking to small rooms prepares you for much bigger stages.
    • Why calling someone “lucky” ignores years of unseen work.
    • What version of yourself is standing in front of your opportunity.

  • The Mindset Shift

Dr. Javier is weeks away from opening his first practice, but the real transformation is already happening.

The question is no longer just how to open a clinic. It’s who he has to become to lead one. From changing his daily habits to learning how to push through low-energy days, he is discovering that the business will ultimately reflect the person running it.

And then there is the part nobody can control: uncertainty.

How do you keep moving when you can’t see exactly what’s coming? How do you stay committed when the immediate reward is nowhere in sight? The answers in this conversation go far beyond chiropractic and into what it actually takes to build something bigger than yourself.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why opening a successful clinic starts with becoming a different version of yourself.
    • How small changes in your daily routine can completely change your future business.
    • Why you have to keep showing up even when you are tired, discouraged, or not motivated.
    • How focusing on a bigger mission makes short-term sacrifice worth it.
    • Why uncertainty is one of the hardest parts of becoming a business owner.
    • How pushing yourself beyond your normal limits creates the capacity for growth.
    • Why developing thick skin becomes essential when success starts attracting criticism.
    • How to stop letting other people's opinions dictate the way you build your life.
    • Why your business will always reflect the person you are behind the scenes.
    • How your organization, energy, leadership, and personal habits get multiplied through your team.
    • Why being your own boss does not automatically mean you are capable of leading others.
    • Why a business can become a multiplier for the number of people you are able to serve.
    • What it would take for opening a clinic to become one of the best decisions of your life.

  • Your Comfort Is Costing You Your Calling

Your biggest bottleneck might not be your business, but what you're refusing to let go of.

Too many chiropractors wear exhaustion like a badge of honor. They convince themselves that doing everything alone is commitment, when it is actually slowing down the very mission they say they care about.

This episode challenges the way you think about hard work, delegation, discipline, and capacity.

Building a thriving clinic should never come at the expense of your health, your marriage, your family, or your calling. The goal is not to do more, the goal is to become capable of carrying more.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How to tell the difference between healthy discomfort and poor systems.
    • Why motivation is one of the weakest foundations you can build a business on.
    • How discipline removes the daily negotiation with yourself.
    • Why protecting your health increases your capacity to serve more people.
    • How taking care of yourself is one of the greatest leadership responsibilities.
    • Why your first hire may belong at home instead of inside your clinic.
    • How buying back your time can strengthen both your business and your family.
    • Why delegation should remove tasks without removing your responsibility.
    • Why hard work without clear priorities often leads to burnout instead of growth.
    • How to identify the tasks that someone else could successfully own.
    • How to recognize when it's time to stop grinding and time to start building systems.
    • Why capacity must grow before your clinic, team, or opportunities can grow.
    • How growth exposes weaknesses that success can no longer hide.
    • Why the strongest leaders are humble enough to ask for help before they need it.

  • The Dreamer and the Doer

Your clinic doesn't need more ideas. It needs the right people to bring them to life.

Some chiropractors can see the future before anyone else. Others know exactly how to turn vision into systems, execution, and measurable results.

The mistake is thinking you have to be both. That belief creates overwhelmed owners, confused teams, and businesses full of unfinished ideas.

The strongest clinics are not built by one person trying to do everything. Once you understand which role you naturally play, you'll never look at leadership, hiring, or scaling your practice the same way.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why trying to perform two different roles usually creates bottlenecks inside a business.
    • How vision without execution leaves great ideas stuck on the drawing board.
    • Why execution without vision can keep a practice from ever reaching its potential.
    • How to recognize whether you're naturally a visionary or an integrator.
    • Why visionaries thrive in relationships, culture, growth, and big-picture thinking.
    • How integrators create clarity through systems, accountability, and execution.
    • Why too many ideas can quietly distract an entire team from what matters most.
    • How great integrators protect momentum without slowing down innovation.
    • Why trust between a visionary and integrator is more important than agreement.
    • How staying in your lane allows both leaders to play to their strengths.
    • Why many chiropractors are unintentionally avoiding the role their business actually needs.
    • How understanding your leadership style can transform communication in your clinic.
    • Why scaling multiple locations becomes nearly impossible without operational leadership.
    • How one simple leadership assessment could completely change the way you build your team.
    • Why the biggest breakthrough in your practice may not be another strategy, but the right partnership.

  • Inside the Mind of the CEO

One unexpected dinner turned into a masterclass in leadership, culture, hiring, relationships, and building a business that people actually want to be part of.

The lessons didn’t come from a chiropractic seminar or a business conference. They came from sitting across the table from someone who has spent decades building one of the most respected organizations in Texas.

If you want to build a team that stays, create patients who become lifelong advocates, and lead with greater clarity, this is a perspective you will not want to miss.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How putting yourself in the right rooms creates life-changing opportunities.
    • Why asking better questions leads to better relationships and better business.
    • How one CEO built an organization through culture instead of transactions.
    • Why relationships are still the greatest competitive advantage in business.
    • How your ideal patient should influence the way you present your practice.
    • Why the best businesses adapt to the people they are called to serve.
    • How great leaders help people see a bigger future for themselves.
    • Why employees stay longer when they believe they are building toward something.
    • How mission, vision, and core values should drive every business decision.
    • Why making money should never be separated from creating meaningful impact.
    • How hiring, promoting, and even firing should be filtered through your core values.
    • Why ownership is one of the most valuable traits you can build into a team.
    • How solving problems instead of passing them along transforms a clinic culture.
    • Why every patient interaction should reflect excellence, professionalism, and care.

  • Javi 90 Days Out of Opening

Most people only see the clinic after it opens....This is the part they never get to see.

Dr. Javi is about 90 days away from opening his practice, but the work has already started. He is newly married, living apart from his wife temporarily, finishing his internship, and preparing to step into a community in Florida with a clear mission to serve.

This conversation gives a rare look at what happens before the doors open when the dream is still being built and the pressure is already real. Dr. Javi talks about defining success beyond money, choosing a location through core values, preparing his mindset, and becoming the leader his future clinic will need.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why sacrifice becomes part of the process when the mission is bigger.
    • How choosing the right spouse can strengthen the entire entrepreneurial journey.
    • Why success is not just money, but creating impact in other people’s lives.
    • How core values will help guide major decisions about location, family, and future.
    • Why being happy where you live can affect how well you perform.
    • How a business becomes a direct reflection of the person leading it.
    • Why leadership development matters before building a team or opening doors.
    • How faith can shape the kind of doctor and leader someone becomes.
    • Why chiropractic students need to focus on mindset before making career decisions.
    • How student loans and fear can keep future doctors thinking too small.
    • How a bigger mission creates the strength to keep moving forward.
    • Why working on yourself is one of the most important parts of practice prep.
    • Why this clinic-opening journey is only the beginning of something bigger.

  • Shedding Old Skin

The version of you that got here may not be the version that gets you where you want to go next.

That is where a lot of chiropractors get stuck. Old beliefs. Old habits. Old relationships. Old identities. Old fears about money, success, family, and what people might think.

The challenge is to stop negotiating with the version of yourself that has already served its purpose. Growth isn’t just about what to do next, it’s about who you need to become, and what you finally need to leave behind.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why old habits and beliefs can become the very things restricting you.
    • How becoming someone new requires more than listening to new information.
    • Why application matters more than reading, learning, or consuming more content.
    • How student loan fears can keep new chiropractors playing far too small.
    • Why the belief that money is bad can limit your ability to serve others.
    • How money can become a tool for mission, family, giving, and impact.
    • Why certain relationships may be keeping you attached to an older identity.
    • How family, friends, and old circles can unintentionally pull you backward.
    • Why success often requires letting go before receiving what comes next.
    • How growth can feel uncomfortable before it starts producing strength.
    • How temporary vulnerability can be part of becoming more powerful.
    • Why getting offended can reveal old beliefs that still need to be shed.
    • How surface-level conversations can clash with a deeper season of growth.

  • Be the Bee

Chiropractors often say they want more new patients, but aren’t willing to do the thing that actually creates momentum.

They hide behind logos, ads, systems, and “getting ready” while the community still has no idea who they are.

This episode is a challenge to get uncomfortable, get visible, and stop treating rejection like a sign to quit. There is a simple mindset shift here that can change how a doctor builds relationships, creates trust, and grows a clinic before the doors even open.

The doctors who win are not always the smartest or the most polished. They’re the ones who keep showing up long enough for the honey to come!

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why chiropractors need to stop counting rejection and start counting flowers.
    • Why one conversation rarely changes everything, but thousands can build momentum.
    • How community outreach creates trust before a clinic ever opens.
    • Why knocking on doors still works when doctors actually commit to it.
    • How focusing on logos and office details can distract from meeting people.
    • How old-school connection still beats hiding behind ads and automation.
    • Why depending only on paid ads can make growth fragile.
    • How multiple outreach channels create more chances to meet the right people.
    • Why getting rejected is part of the process, not proof that it failed.
    • How one opened door can multiply into relationships, referrals, and growth.
    • Why slow days are actually opportunities to get into the community.
    • How meeting 100 people a day can transform the future of a clinic.
    • How going out, serving people, and staying consistent creates real momentum.

  • Be the Charcoal

Your clinic is either catching fire or cooling off. There is no in between.

One piece of charcoal can be burning hot, but pull it away from the fire long enough and it starts to fade.

Put it back in the right environment, and it lights up again.

That is exactly what happens inside a clinic. Energy spreads. Vision spreads. Standards spread. But so do excuses, burnout, and low expectations.

This episode goes straight at the part most doctors overlook: the fire in the room. Because when the right people are close, the right energy is protected, and the leader is actually leading, the whole clinic starts burning hotter.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why the wrong environment can drain even strong, capable people.
    • How leadership energy sets the temperature for the entire clinic.
    • Why your team needs your fire, not just your systems.
    • Why every chiropractor needs to get honest about their real “why.”
    • How culture starts slipping when nobody protects the standard.
    • Why one low-energy person can quietly affect the whole office.
    • How the right person in the wrong seat creates hidden drag.
    • Why playing people to their strengths can unlock the entire team.
    • Why working harder can actually make your leadership weaker.
    • Why burned-out doctors cannot expect fired-up teams around them.
    • How your daily habits can either fuel the clinic or slowly drain it.
    • Why clarity breaks create room for vision, direction, and growth.
    • Why proximity is still one of the fastest ways to create real change.

  • Unlock the Seed

The biggest thing holding your practice back isn't a lack of knowledge.

In this episode, I break down what happened after a powerful weekend training with the Victory clinics, and why the biggest shifts do not come from chasing more information.

They actually come from proximity, conviction, clarity, and building roots strong enough to carry the growth. When a team gets in the right room, the right things start getting unlocked.

A clinic can only rise as high as its foundation can hold. Fast growth without deep roots will always be fragile. This episode is about slowing down long enough to build what actually lasts.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why real growth starts when hidden potential gets unlocked.
    • Why deep roots matter way more than fast momentum.
    • How weak foundations make clinics easier to knock down.
    • Why proximity creates breakthroughs that books alone cannot.
    • How in-person training can unlock doctors, teams, and entire clinics.
    • Why obedience matters more than controlling every outcome.
    • How conviction and certainty create stronger leadership.
    • Why clarity is one of the kindest things a leader can give.
    • How faith-led business changes the way that decisions get made.
    • Why giving the business back to God can shift everything.
    • How money trauma can quietly block doctors from serving patients.
    • Why care plan conversations require presence instead of projection.
    • How personal objections can stand in the way of someone else’s healing.
    • Why providing for family, mission, and community requires responsibility.

  • Are You A Slave To The Immediate?

The pull between what’s urgent right now and what actually matters long-term can quietly wreck teams.

This week, I unpack why people don’t usually walk away from jobs because of money, and why that very assumption keeps leaders stuck and frustrated. What happens when hard-working people still feel empty? Why does “more pay” fail to fix burnout or disengagement?

I connect an ancient story to modern business and culture, exploring how forgetting the bigger picture turns meaningful work into mindless motion. I talk about what really builds loyalty, why purpose outperforms perks, and how culture shows up most clearly when things go wrong.

What if leadership isn’t about motivation tactics, but about constantly reminding people why their work matters?

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How workplace culture and emotional experience influence long-term employee commitment.
    • Why neglecting the original mission creates frustration despite hard work.
    • How focusing on immediate tasks erodes connection to long-term vision.
    • The importance of consistently tying daily work to organizational purpose.
    • Why meaningless work feels heavy regardless of financial incentives offered.
    • How understanding impact can transform routine tasks into meaningful contributions.
    • The limitations of raises, bonuses, and benefits in creating fulfillment.
    • Why people desire significance and purpose more than additional income.
    • How trust, autonomy, and respect strengthen engagement and ownership.
    • The role of leadership behavior during mistakes and stressful moments.
    • The idea that belief in the mission outweighs short-term compensation concerns.
    • How strong culture reduces turnover and increases accountability.
    • The responsibility of leadership in cultivating mission-driven teams.

  • Linear Time Is Lying To You

The way most people think about time is actually holding them back. In this episode, I unpack why linear timelines feel so convincing, yet so limiting, especially when past mistakes start defining future expectations.

This episode explores what happens when time is no longer treated as a straight line, but as something far more flexible.

Why do so many driven people feel “behind,” even when they’re growing? And what if setbacks aren’t proof of failure, but preparation?

If feeling rushed, late, or boxed in by the past sounds familiar, this episode opens a new door and invites a much-needed reframe.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How a spontaneous encounter with quantum physics challenged my linear thinking.
    • Why most people unconsciously organize life through past, present, and future milestones.
    • How linear timelines create pressure, comparison, and distorted expectations of progress.
    • The introduction of holistic time as a perspective-based, non-sequential model.
    • What reframing past experiences changes about present decision-making.
    • How entrepreneurial failures often become misinterpreted as permanent limitations.
    • Why linear thinking falsely predicts repeated outcomes from past mistakes.
    • How perspective shifts transform failures into clarity instead of shame.
    • Why emotional reactivity decreases when decisions come from present awareness.
    • How rigid timelines harm leadership confidence and long-term business growth.
    • Why growth rarely follows predictable or uniform patterns across individuals.
    • How asking new questions opens future possibilities instead of self-blame.
    • A reminder that progress does not equal lateness or missed opportunity.

  • Why Having Less Time Makes You More Dangerous

Let’s talk about why having less time can actually make us sharper, more decisive, and way more effective.

Why do deadlines suddenly unlock a level of intensity we didn’t know we had? And why does “busy” so often fool us into thinking we’re making progress when we’re not?

Today I walk through a mental shift that completely reframes how work gets done, especially for entrepreneurs and high performers. Along the way, I share a wild story involving a billionaire, impossible timelines, and an extreme example of urgency in action.

If you’ve ever said, “I’ll do it when I have more time,” this episode challenges that belief head-on. What if the problem isn’t a lack of time, but too much of it?

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How Parkinson’s Law reframes productivity and explains expanded workloads.
    • Why unlimited time encourages procrastination, distraction, and inefficiency.
    • The difference between being busy and creating meaningful return on investment.
    • How long to-do lists can mislead entrepreneurs about real progress.
    • The relationship between shorter deadlines and heightened focus.
    • The role of decisive action in accelerating results.
    • How personal life constraints actually can improve professional productivity.
    • The impact of parenting on intentional time compartmentalization.
    • Why self-imposed deadlines outperform open-ended projects.
    • The importance of intentional constraints for faster decision-making.
    • The idea that productivity improves when available work hours are reduced.
    • How you can audit your schedule and challenge yourself to eliminate hidden wastes of time.

  • How to Get From $20k to Over $40k

Dr. Alex Ibarra of Victory Spinal Care Waco is with me again this week, asking the exact questions he’s grappling with inside his clinic.

I break them down the same way I would in a closed-door meeting. We start with a huge win (doubling revenue in a single month!) and then dig into the real question: how can you do it again without burning out or getting distracted by busywork?

This conversation goes deep into what actually moves the needle when growth stalls. I walk through the shifts that matter when a practice outgrows its current systems, from hiring decisions to closing percentages to protecting momentum when life happens.

We also get real about leadership...especially the uncomfortable moments of seeing problems before your partner or team does.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How increased energy and leadership presence impact staff and patient behavior.
    • Why systems that create early growth fail at higher revenue levels.
    • What closing percentages can reveal about hidden growth opportunities inside a clinic.
    • The importance of tracking patient conversion across multi-day onboarding processes.
    • How maintenance care retention stabilizes revenue without additional marketing spend.
    • Why capacity limitations are often perceived problems rather than real constraints.
    • The strategic reasoning behind hiring a second staff member before feeling overwhelmed.
    • How focused staff roles directly improve financial presentations and closing rates.
    • The connection between owner mindset, momentum, and seasonal disruptions.
    • The value of reactivating past patients instead of relying solely on new leads.
    • The use of structured meetings to surface and solve problems early.
    • How constant hiring creates leverage to attract high-performing team members.
    • The thing to keep in mind when staff members are also patients.

  • Opening From Scratch

This week I sit down with Dr. Alex Ibarra, owner of Victory Spinal Care in Waco, Texas.

We talk about what it really looks like to start from nothing: moving from Puerto Rico, barely speaking English, working retail jobs, and still holding onto a vision that refuses to quit. How does someone keep belief alive when everything feels stacked against them?

We dig into the decision to choose to open in Waco, the fear that showed up for Dr. Alex right before graduation, and the moments when confidence wavers. What happens when preparation meets opportunity...but systems aren’t ready yet?

Momentum, consistency, mentorship, and personal discipline all come into play in this conversation. Does growth feel uncertain right now? This episode challenges what might actually be holding things back, and shows what’s possible when momentum finally clicks.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • How early retail and warehouse jobs shaped resilience and long-term motivation for Dr. Alex.
    • What inspired his initial decision to pursue a chiropractic career path.
    • The process Dr. Alex chose to enter chiropractic school strategically.
    • Why Waco emerged as a surprising and meaningful location choice.
    • What door-to-door conversations revealed about trust and relationship building.
    • How an early surge of new patients exposed conversion weaknesses.
    • Why continued outreach remains essential after initial success.
    • The challenge of authority-building as a recent graduate practice owner.
    • How people-pleasing habits can interfere with patient commitment and outcomes.
    • The mindset shift sparked by structured mentorship and accountability.
    • Why consistency becomes critical during slower, discouraging months.
    • The role of criticism in breaking ego-driven limitations.
    • How daily routines and fitness habits reinforce leadership and visibility.

  • Rewiring Your Money Mindset

I’m sharing the parts of my life story that shaped how I think about work, money, and resilience in this episode. I walk through three defining moments from my upbringing that quietly wired my mindset long before I realized it. How does growing up “okay” still create stress that follows you into adulthood? And what lessons stick when responsibility shows up far too early?

I talk about chasing big dreams without the resources others had, working exhausting jobs as a teenager, and feeling the emotional weight of helping keep the lights on. These experiences didn’t break me, but they did shape how I viewed money, effort, and worth for years.

This episode is really about rewiring those patterns. You’ll find out what it takes to finally let go of a scarcity mindset and build something better for yourself and for the next generation.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • What divorce introduced regarding responsibility, independence, and emotional maturity.
    • Why my lack of access to elite training taught me about discipline through self-driven practice.
    • How repeated exposure to wealth gaps influenced my early beliefs about success.
    • The daily self-training habits I used to build grit, consistency, and internal motivation.
    • How witnessing my parents’ bill prioritization shaped my long-term money anxiety.
    • What physically demanding work taught me about effort, endurance, and delayed reward.
    • Why losing control of my earned income triggered conflicting emotions of shame and responsibility.
    • What providing financial support to my family as a 16-year-old imposed on me psychologically.
    • How repeated scarcity became my internalized money beliefs.
    • Why I required intentional rewiring around income, worth, and abundance as an adult.
    • How college financial stress reinforced a paycheck-to-paycheck life as being normal.
    • The long-term motivation that emerged from wanting different outcomes for my children.

  • Your Biggest Life Hack

I’m feeling especially fired up in this conversation because it dives into something that sounds simple, yet changes everything: supporting your spouse. I share why I believe the way we speak about our partner (especially in public) can either elevate the entire relationship or quietly sabotage it. Why do so many driven people complain their spouse isn’t “on board”? And what if that disconnect is actually costing more than just emotional energy?

I talk through what it really means to act like a team, not just in marriage, but in business, parenting, and leadership. I also unpack the idea of presenting a united front, even when disagreements exist behind the scenes.

It’s time to rethink communication, loyalty, and partnership. Your spouse might be your biggest advantage. What opportunities might open up if you truly supported each other 100%?

  • 2025 Recap

We’re closing out the year by looking back at what actually moved the needle in 2025...and what didn’t.

This conversation is part reflection, part reality check, and part anticipation for what’s ahead. We talk through the moments that challenged us, the opportunities that surprised us, and the decisions that forced us to grow faster than expected. What happens when big opportunities arrive at inconvenient times? What about when growth exposes gaps you didn’t know existed?

We walk through travel, events, expansions, and personal milestones that shaped our year in unexpected ways. Along the way, we share what it felt like to be called up instead of called out, how being in the right rooms changed our perspective, and why in-person energy still matters.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why a major fitness competition setback became a defining highlight.
    • The intentional decision to slow down briefly before re-accelerating momentum.
    • How constructive accountability reframed feedback as growth rather than criticism.
    • The emphasis on frameworks, mindset, and scalable partnership structures we had.
    • The unexpected value of proximity and networking in everyday experiences.
    • What it meant to host a large in-person team training event.
    • The opening of a new location and lessons learned from grassroots community outreach.
    • What rapid life changes revealed about planning, delegation, and systems.
    • The acquisition of another clinic and how it exposed onboarding and replication gaps.
    • Why refining processes became essential for sustainable expansion.
    • The importance of reliable partners for execution and integration.
    • How behind-the-scenes work created broader impact than hands-on service alone.

  • Step Back & Observe

This week, I’m talking about what real growth looks like when a practice outgrows its space, and how the next move feels both exciting and terrifying.

We’re preparing to move, so I’ll take you through what it’s like expanding into a new building, the hidden costs that come with change, and why progress often shows up disguised as stress first.

I also revisit the early days: delayed openings, unexpected obstacles, and the relentless hustle required before a single patient ever walks through the door.

Sometimes you have to pause, reflect, and ask: where did this all start, and where could it go next?

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • What inspired the decision to expand into a significantly larger clinic building.
    • How major clinic moves commonly create short-term drops in patient volume.
    • Why operational changes can disrupt established systems and daily workflows.
    • How repeated staff training becomes essential during periods of rapid transition.
    • Scheduling strategies that reduce patient disruption during a condensed moving timeline.
    • How early licensing and regulatory obstacles delayed our initial clinic opening plans.
    • The emotional realization of success occurring before patient care officially begins.
    • Why acknowledging progress strengthens resilience during demanding growth phases.
    • The long-term vision that extends beyond daily adjustments and clinical routines.
    • How hiring challenges increase as clinic scale and operational complexity grow.
    • What behind-the-scenes systems support sustainable multi-location expansion plans.
    • How year-end reflection can help out clearer goal setting for the coming year.

  • My Clinic That Closed

Hearing stories of clinics that DON’T make it are usually not shared openly, but that’s exactly what I’m doing today because this experience matters just as much as any success.

I share what it feels like to step into a struggling practice with big expectations, no cash investment, and the promise of equity, only to realize how many moving parts must actually align. I talk about leaving family behind, walking into broken systems, and discovering resistance where collaboration should exist.

What happens when staff push back on growth? Why does effort sometimes fail to stick after momentum builds? I reflect on leadership, ownership, and what really motivates people when things get hard. If growth, scaling, or avoiding costly mistakes matter, this conversation reveals what to look for before committing.

What you’ll learn about in this episode:

    • Why discussing failure provides more usable feedback than celebrating wins alone.
    • What sweat equity partnerships look like without upfront cash investment.
    • My initial assessment of inefficient systems limiting patient volume and revenue.
    • Why staff feedback without ownership perspective fails to solve operational problems.
    • How rebuilding operations required direct patient care and closing treatment plans.
    • The marketing push using direct mail and free initial visits to drive calls.
    • What poor phone conversion revealed about training gaps and staff resistance.
    • The conflict with ownership over ignored feedback and inconsistent system execution.
    • Why salaried doctors without equity lacked motivation for external growth efforts.
    • The realization that partnerships require shared risk and aligned incentives.
    • What satellite clinics create in terms of divided attention and diluted systems.
    • The lesson that proven systems must be contractually agreed upon upfront.
