On This Episode:
Is it really that hard for human beings to be decent on the road? I guess it is because one accident on the road is as highly statistical as someone being born or kicking the bucket...shit like that has to happen at least once a day. Yeah, with all the billions of car on the road, it only takes one reckless idiot to fuck up everyone's commute. We have good drivers that unfortunately have to share the road with shitty drivers.

It has been a really tough week filled with heavy losses and it really makes you wonder: why do good people seem to die so young or too soon, while the most cruel people live on like the parasites they are for a long time? Seriously, do the wicked really outlive the righteous?

It's the most wonderful time of the year...No! I'm not talking about Christmas...not yet. I'm talking about a day for the parents...it's their annual dream come true when they don't have to worry about keeping their kids entertained...the end of their summer vacation and the start of a new school year. As for the teachers...well, it could be the opposite...a total soul-sucking opposite.

1h 50m - Aug 20, 2026 - S1E4 - Food Waste is Fucking Atrocious
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://redcircle.com/shows/tylerandthefic
On This Episode:
Food waste is fucking atrocious. And I don’t mean to sound like a broken record (because that’s the title of this episode), but it really is. It’s deeply fucking strange that two issues can exist simultaneously in our world while being almost completely opposite in nature. On the one hand, we have a food-waste crisis in which millions, if not billions, of food items are recklessly thrown in the dump. On the other hand, we have a global hunger crisis...one that is affecting people who desperately need that very same food. And sure, we have food banks, charities, and donation drives that are trying their best, but those efforts can only go so far. They’re helping people with a problem that, in many cases, shouldn’t exist in the first place. The inspirational spark for this episode came when I remembered seeing some internet post depicting a dumpster overflowing with packages of food. But what really stuck with me was the accompanying message: the food had apparently been doused in bleach. They gave it a chemical baptism, seemingly believing that simply putting the food in a dumpster wasn’t enough to deter people from scavenging or dumpster diving, but going one step further, deliberately using a volatile chemical to make the food completely unusable. It’s a very crude image to behold. Granted, I understand the importance of food safety, and I recognize that there are legitimate reasons why businesses may need to prevent their discarded food from being consumed. But at the same time...there’s something profoundly cold about the image of perfectly edible food being intentionally destroyed when so many people around the world are struggling to fill their stomachs. It’s one of those cases where the cruel reality is that food waste and hunger can exist side by side, not because there isn’t enough food, but because the food we have is treated as something so easily disposable. We throw away what others desperately need, and then we pretend that the two problems have nothing to do with each other.

1h 8m - Aug 13, 2026 - S1E3 - The Cruel Business of Misery
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://redcircle.com/shows/tylerandthefic
On This Episode:
We covered this topic on the previous incarnation of our show, but we wanted to remaster the discussion: the cruel business of misery. Your suffering can become someone else's opportunity. When there is a problem, there is also money to be made from solving that problem, but what happens when keeping that problem around becomes more profitable than fixing it entirely? In this episode, we explore the idea of whether some businesses are built around helping people escape their struggles or they are simply managing those struggles long enough to keep that cash flow flowing. Now of course, we're not claiming that every company is run by greedy psychopaths or that profit itself is evil, everyone has to make a living somehow. The concept of a business exists because people have needs, and solving those needs can make the world a better place. But incentives also matter as well and that is where the mystery is at. When a system rewards dependence over independence, or maintenance over solutions, that is where we start to see a bit of corruption at play. Are we paying for someone to end our problems, or are we paying someone to make sure those problems never truly go away.? That is what we will explore in this episode: when does business stop being about solving misery and start becoming a business built on misery?

1h 53m - Aug 6, 2026 - S1E2 - Let the Birth Rates Hit the Floor
DISCLAIMER / WARNING: A portion of this episode discusses real cases involving child abuse, neglect, and failures within the child welfare system. This content is presented for educational and informational purposes only. Listener discretion is advised.
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://redcircle.com/shows/tylerandthefic
On This Episode:
Okay, maybe the title of this episode doesn't quite do the topic justice (but I spent way too much brainpower coming up with it, so we're just going to leave it as is). Birth rates around the world aren't just falling, they're crashing through the floor and drilling into the deepest depths you can imagine. So the obvious question is: why is that? Well, without giving too much away, let's just say the world is becoming a more inhospitable place. Life keeps getting more expensive and our environments are becoming more hazardous and it all seems to get worse with each passing year. For the average person, that creates a difficult choice. Starting a family becomes something that they may delay or skip altogether, choosing instead to invest their time and money in other parts of their lives: their hobbies, careers, travel, or whatever else brings them fulfillment. Then of course, some people don't have children because of heartbreaking circumstances that are beyond their control, and my condolences go out to them. But for many others, the reason is simple: they just don't want kids. They have no desire to become parents, and that's entirely their choice. It's their right to not give a fuck if they don't want to. Now if only a small percentage of people make that decision, nobody really bats an eye. If that percentage grows, maybe a few people start to sweat. But when enough people make that choice that the fertility rate falls well below replacement level, well, that's when a nation's leaders start sounding the alarm. That's when governments start dangling some bait on the hook, offering tax breaks, baby bonuses, and other incentives meant to lure people into having children. But more and more people are looking at the numbers, doing the math, and deciding the deal still isn't worth it. So what happens if those incentives stop working? What happens when the nations that are facing a demographic collapse decide that they've had enough of asking nicely? On this episode, we'll explore the global decline in birth rates, the arguments from every side of the debate, and the unsettling possibility of what the "nuclear option" might look like: a future that feels less like policy and more like neo-noir fiction, all red dresses and white bonnets.

2h 2m - Jul 23, 2026 - S1E1 - Far Zenith: Godhood of the Elite Class
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://redcircle.com/shows/tylerandthefic
On This Episode:
What a way to start our show's brand new season with a bit of frightening wonder of unchecked power and wealth. On this episode, we dive into one of my favorite video game franchises developed by Guerrilla Games: Horizon...or more specifically the antagonists of their second installation: the Far Zenith. You can't imagine a worst group if you were to ever meditate on what would end-stage capitalism look like. If you are familiar with the franchise, then you know that their world was completely ravaged by killer machines that are able to multiply exponentially faster than the capabilities of the human race pushing back, and we're talking about machines that and I quote: "consume biomass as fuel". In other words, every living thing that responds to stimuli. It didn't go to well for humankind so they hid in the darkest depths where no machine could reach them, they devised a plan to restart humanity...and it still goes to shit because of Murphy's Law. But skipping a few plots later, the Far Zenith stick their nose back in and this time, they emerge as akin to some perverted mythology, the godhood of the richest of them all, the most elite of them all and they would see the remaining survivors of a broken world as nothing but lesser that needs to be cruelly subjugated. Stick around for this episode as we talk about all that, and we wonder to ourselves...will we have something like that...sooner or later? Not just some cataclysm that tears the world to shreds, but also the idea of a group that mirrors Far Zenith. Is it possible? The richest 1% could have a VIP ticket to escape disaster, continue life in luxury without a thought of survival nor a concern for the rest of the 99%, and then returning years later to see what remains with a sneering disregard of the remainder of humanity, completely puffed up of themselves, totally narcissistic and megalomaniacal. I surely hope not.

3m - Jul 7, 2026 - Episode 75 - Adult Summers Hit Differently
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
Do you remember when you could just head outside in July and not even think of any worries? You’d jump off a dock into freezing lake water, play basketball on scorching asphalt for hours, and wake up the next day feeling completely fine. No stretching, no soreness, nothing. Back then, summer was just pure energy, and your body didn’t complain about a single thing. But now, it feels like you have to negotiate with your own body just to enjoy a nice day. You spend a couple of hours working in the yard and you’re literally sore for the next two days. You go to the beach and you’re just constantly shifting around trying to find a position that doesn’t hurt your lower back, and instead of enjoying the heat, you’re just sweating and worrying about getting a headache. You see kids sprinting past you on the boardwalk, totally taking for granted how effortless it is for them, while you have to stop for a second because your knee is acting up again. It all goes along with the passage of time that the summer hasn't changed at all, but you have in terms of your own aging biology. At that time of your aged life, you’re jus trying to figure out how to take things slow in a season that you used to spend running around at full speed.

55m - Jun 25, 2026 - Episode 74 - The Nostalgia of Summer
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
Remember when the screen door would slam shut in June and just stay unlatched for months? Back then, time didn’t feel like something you were constantly running out of. It was just this endless stretch of hot pavement, melted ice pops, and riding your bike until the streetlights came on. When you’re a kid, summer feels like a whole lifetime. Summer was this safe little bubble where tomorrow took forever to arrive, and the absolute worst part of your day was just having to go inside and get some rest. But then you grow up and the real world hits you hard and suddenly that endless freedom gets chopped up and shrunk down into a few strictly rationed PTO days. Now, you’re trying to squeeze a lifetime of rest into a desperate week off, nervously checking your work messages between quarterly reviews, while the actual retirement age keeps moving further away. You find yourself sitting under buzzing office lights on a random Tuesday in July, looking out the window at a beautiful day, just feeling too exhausted to enjoy it and too broke to travel out of your monotonous reality anyway. It’s quite a realization that even our basic breathing room got traded away for a cubicle, leaving us missing a season that used to belong to us when we were young.

51m - Jun 11, 2026 - Episode 73 - Student Debt: The Interest of an Interest
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
Previously, we talked about what our graduates are going to inherit from the generation of old: a broken world. Now for this episode, let's scale it back to just focus on our high school graduates. We usher our high school graduates onto the next phase of their lives, and it's usually done by showcasing pristine college campuses with a glittering promise: you just got to work hard and invest in your mind, and you will buy your way into the American Dream. What we casually gloss over is the fine print of a predatory system designed to trap them before their adult lives even begin. As of today, a higher education degree is no longer a golden ticket to a fulfilling career let alone a life with fewer sufferings; it’s a lifelong financial anchor, a modern form of economic bondage where our next generation of adults are forced to sign away their futures just to compete for entry-level survival. The sheer absurdity lies in a system that charges exorbitant, inflated prices for a basic societal need, only to let compounding interest transform a standard education into an inescapable, multi-decade debt sentence. No matter how hard these young adults work, no matter how many extra shifts they pull, the math is rigged against them, ensuring they spend their prime years paying off the privilege of merely trying to succeed. So when did we decide that crushing the ambition of our youth under the weight of institutional greed was an acceptable baseline for higher learning, and how can we honestly expect a generation to build a future when they are drowning in the debt of its foundation?
~ Once again, to our next generation of adults, good luck out there (-_-).

1h 15m - Jun 4, 2026 - Episode 72 - A Graduate's Dystopian Inheritance
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
The world being handed down to the class of 2026 looks less like a launchpad and it looks more like an inherited disaster zone, a heavy and exhausting reality where our young adults are expected to smile for their graduation photos while stepping directly into the wreckage of a fractured society. For one day, we fill our graduates' emotions with joy and a sense of accomplishment, yet the ironic reality awaits for them after the celebration, we watch our high school and college graduates walk across a stage only to be greeted by an economy that prices them out of basic survival, a climate crisis that has advanced from a distant warning to an active catastrophe, and a hyper-polarized culture that trades genuine human connection for bitter tribal warfare. We have built a system that demands everything from the next generation. Our systems unfortunately drain them of their peace, their financial security, and their collective future; while offering them nothing but the bill for a broken world they had no hand in destroying. The sheer absurdity of our current landscape lies in how casually our older generations have shrugged off this burden, expecting these young adults to resiliently fix the deep-seated systemic failures, soaring living costs, and institutional decay that we have allowed to rot. It is a heartbreaking and lonely vantage point for a graduate to realize that the reward for years of hard work is simply the privilege of fighting for survival in a world that feels increasingly hollow and indifferent to their existence. So when did we decide that passing down a ruined planet and an unlivable economy was an acceptable baseline for the future, and why do we expect them to thank us for the privilege of inheriting the mess?

1h 18m - May 28, 2026 - Episode 71 - Tribalism in Sports Culture
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
Modern sports culture has morphed into a strange, high-stakes theater where our personal identities are far too often dictated by what happens on a patch of grass or a polished court, and it is honestly exhausting to witness how much of our basic humanity we’ve traded for the sake of a scoreboard. It is a heartbreaking sight to see a Saturday morning at a local park ruined because a parent, blinded by a desperate and misplaced hope for their child’s glory, loses their temper and screams at a teenage referee who is just a kid themselves, yet this same irrationality scales all the way up to the professional level where grown adults get red-faced, foam at the mouth, and incite genuine violence and riots over the color of a jersey. This deep-seated, almost frantic need to "win" has turned what should be a shared community experience into a lonely, bitter proxy war, causing us to feel a misplaced sense of fury toward strangers who simply happen to live in a different zip code or root for a different city. We have built an entire culture around this toxic tribalism by pouring our emotional well-being and our hard-earned savings into a "win at all costs" mentality. It's deeply disappointing to realize how far we have drifted from the simple, human joy that comes from the sport itself. The absurdity of this lies in how easily we discard our kindness and common sense for the hollow, fleeting rush of a victory that doesn't actually change our lives. So when did we stoop so low, when did we decided that hating a stranger for their jersey was an acceptable norm of sports culture?

1h 4m - May 14, 2026 - Episode 70 - The Decline of a Good Education
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
The American school system looks like a high-speed train where nobody is actually sitting in the conductor’s seat. For decades, the focus has shifted away from the gritty, rewarding work of learning and toward a sterile, corporate-style management of children. We have decision-makers who sit in climate-controlled offices far from the classroom, obsessing over colorful charts and participation metrics while the actual quality of instruction hits rock bottom. It is a grim reality for anyone who cares about the future. Teachers are treated like automated kiosks rather than professionals, and the bar for success has been lowered so many times that it’s practically buried in the dirt. Meanwhile, we have the rest of the world moving forward with a sense of urgency, but our domestic strategy seems to be centered on making sure everything looks good on paper, regardless of the chaos on the ground. This obsession with optics has hollowed out the entire experience. Schools have become places where the goal is to survive the day and check a box, rather than to actually build a capable mind that are suppose to be our future leaders and stabilizers of our American society. The whole thing has devolved into an incredibly pricey charade where everyone goes through the motions while the actual substance disappears into the wind. When the focus stays on keeping the bureaucracy happy instead of challenging students to reach their potential while also suppose to equip our students with the proper tools so they can push themselves towards greater heights, the results are predictable and heartbreaking. A society can only coast on the achievements of its ancestors for so long before the lack of substance catches up. and eventually, the bill for this mediocrity comes due.

1h 6m - May 7, 2026 - Episode 69 - Does Science Require Sacrifice?
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
DISCLAIMER: This episode will cover the history of medical exploitation, non-consensual experimentation and other bits of history and current events that may not be suitable for all audiences. This episode does not provide any medical advice or any other professional advice, This episode is for historical, informative, and or educational purposes only. Listener discretion is advised.
On This Episode:
The idea that "science requires sacrifice" is easy to dismiss as some dramatic movie line until you actually start looking at the world around you. We like to view progress as this clean, noble climb toward the light, but the reality is far more gut-wrenching. If you peel back the layers of our modern comforts like the medicine in our cabinets, or the safety of our cars, or even the technology in our pockets; there you will find a history that is often written in someone else's suffering. Most of us live our lives as the lucky beneficiaries of things we’d rather not think about. We’ve inherited a world where the "greater good" has been used to justify some of the darkest chapters of human experience. We tell ourselves that as long as the majority is saved, the cruelty inflicted on the few is just an unfortunate cost of moving forward. It’s a cold, transactional way to exist, and it forces us to treat people like data points or disposable tools rather than human beings with names and lives. The most unsettling part of that reality is how easily we look the other way. We enjoy the cures and the breakthroughs while completely distancing ourselves from the people whose lives were shattered to make them possible. We’ve built a society where it’s normal to benefit from a nightmare, provided that nightmare happened long enough ago or to someone we have no idea of. We are getting better at solving the technical problems of survival, but we are losing our grip on the empathy that makes survival worth striving for. We can engineer a better future and conquer the limits of the human body, but we sort of haven't found an absolute way to do it without leaving a trail of wreckage in our wake. We can reach for the stars, but we can't seem to wash the blood off the ladder we used to get there. If the only way to move forward is to trade away our conscience, it’s worth asking if we’re actually progressing at all, or if we’re just becoming more efficient at being cruel.

1h 12m - Apr 30, 2026 - Episode 68 - Money Can Buy Happiness?
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
We’ve all heard people say that money can't buy happiness, which is usually something said by those who’ve never had to decide between buying eggs or keeping the lights on. Let’s be real because money buys peace of mind and the relief you feel when you aren't constantly stressed about survival. We tell ourselves that if we can just reach that next tax bracket or see another comma in our bank account, the anxiety will finally stop. For a while, it actually does, but there’s a weird side to wealth that nobody really talks about. We can call it the hedonic treadmill, and it basically means the fancy stuff that felt like a miracle yesterday just feels normal today. Eventually, you’re standing in a bigger house and driving a faster car, but you’re still the exact same person you were before. You’ve upgraded your lifestyle, but you might have forgotten to work on your life. We find out, usually the hard way, that while money is great at protecting your world, it’s not great at filling it. It can buy you the most expensive bed on the planet, but it can’t buy you a good night's sleep. With all that being said, can money actually buy happiness?

1h 4m - Apr 23, 2026 - Episode 67 - The Addiction of Today's Youth
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
At first, handing a child a phone or tablet seemed harmless, a quick fix when you needed some quiet or a way to keep them busy in the backseat. The apps looked friendly enough, with their bright colors and cheerful voices, and words like “educational” or “kid-safe” plastered everywhere. It felt more like being a good parent than making a compromise. But that occasional digital distraction quietly became the new normal. Where childhood used to mean unstructured play, maybe a little boredom, and time spent face-to-face with others, now it’s so often shaped by screens built to grab attention and serve up constant rewards. But it's not entirely because parents could care any less. Tech just got much better at hooking kids in, with personalized feeds, nonstop autoplay, and endless scrolling that blurs where playtime is suppose to end. At first, you barely notice what’s changing, but then you catch it especially if you're a parent of a toddler or child in these modern times. It could be through their meltdowns and temper tantrums when you take a device away, the struggle to focus on non-digital games or books, boredom that feels unbearable instead of a chance to daydream or actually imagine. After a while, this steady diet of fast-moving input rewires everything else in their developing brains, making school, real conversations, even imagination-driven play, feel slow and almost tedious. But the fallout isn’t just about more screen time. You see it in shorter attention spans, less patience, and an odd kind of restlessness, even when the device is off. It’s a disconnection you can’t quite put your finger on. None of this means technology is always a negative force, but it does mean the landscape of growing up has shifted more than we realize. Every so-called “kid-friendly” app or video sits on top of systems built to keep users, especially kids, engaged as long as possible. Sure, the convenience is real, but so are the trade-offs. The way kids learn to focus, relate to others, and find their place in the world is up for grabs now, shaped early by technology that never really lets go. So it leaves us with a hard question: If a child’s first and most constant experiences are shaped by platforms engineered to hold their attention, what kind of habits and expectations are we actually cultivating from the very beginning?

1h 24m - Apr 16, 2026 - Episode 66 - The Absurdity of Modern Transportation
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
We’ve spent a lifetime telling ourselves that modern travel is this massive human victory. It started as a huge leap by trading horses for jet engines and making the world feel small enough to hold. At the time, it felt like pure progress. We didn't just speed things up; we literally paved over the world to make moving around feel effortless. We saw distance as a problem to be crushed, and we definitely crushed it. But if you actually look at how we live now, that dream of freedom feels a lot more like a trap. Owning a car isn’t a status symbol or a sign of independence anymore. It’s a massive, non-negotiable tax you have to pay just to exist in society. The real kicker is that our cities aren't built for people because they’re built for shells of steel and glass. If you don't own a car or have access to one, you’re essentially locked out of normal life. We’ve built these sprawling gaps where you can only survive if you’re moving at the speed of an engine. It’s wild that the loudest, heaviest, and most dangerous machines on the planet get the right of way for everything, but everyone else, including the people walking or biking, is stuck begging for scraps of space. It’s reached a point where just crossing the street or riding a bike feels like a nuisance to the "real" world of traffic. Being a pedestrian feels like being an obstacle rather than the other way around. We spent decades engineering a world that prioritizes transit over people. We solved the problem of getting from A to B fast, but we ended up with a world that is fundamentally hostile to the humans living in it. The machines get the smooth ride while we are just the ones left trying not to get in their way.

1h 3m - Apr 2, 2026 - Episode 65 - Corporate Catfishing
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
You land the “dream job,” only to realize within weeks that the reality is nothing like the glossy brochure. It’s a sinking, hollow feeling that starts the moment you realize the role is actually a revolving door of grueling hours, chaotic leadership, and a thick layer of corporate buzzwords that have somehow replaced basic transparency. This is the murky, increasingly common world of career catfishing: a systemic practice where organizations sell a polished illusion specifically designed to lure in high-level talent under false pretenses. From inflated job titles that carry no real authority to phantom perks that vanish the moment you sign the contract, these companies have turned recruitment into a high-stakes game of bait-and-switch. We see it in cultures that champion “radical flexibility” but actually expect you to be tethered to a laptop at all hours of the night, and in mission statements that talk about “changing the world” while the day-to-day work is soul-crushing and administrative. These narratives leave employees feeling burnt out, blindsided, and gaslit by the very people who once wooed them with coffee chats and vision boards. There are many who sought for a “creative, collaborative” leadership role at a buzzy startup, only to find a culture that penalized dissent and rewarded a deafening silence over any actual innovation. Think of the middle manager who was quietly pressured by HR to rewrite job postings until the descriptions were barely truthful, scrubbing away the toxicity to meet a hiring deadline. Even the recruiters themselves are caught in the crossfire, confessing that in a world driven by aggressive growth quotas, honesty and performance metrics rarely occupy the same space. It raises the question of how organizations continue to get away with these practices and why, despite our best instincts, workers keep falling for the bait. We are often so eager for a fresh start or a better paycheck that we ignore the subtle inconsistencies in the interview process, hoping the red flags are just shadows. But behind every cinematic brand video, every curated social media "Life at..." post, and every lofty culture statement lies a fundamental choice: a company can either be absolutely truthful about the nature of the work, or they can build a fragile façade that eventually, inevitably, begins to fall apart with high turnovers, layoffs, and of course golden parachutes. The tragedy is that for the employee who has already uprooted their life, resigned from a stable position, and pinned their hopes on a new future, those red flags often show up far too late.

1h 25m - Mar 26, 2026 - Episode 64 - Is Body Positivity Dead?
Proudly Hosted by RedCircle: https://www.redcircle.com/tylersgrimreminders
On This Episode:
For a long time, it felt like we’d finally reached a shaky and hard-won truce with our own reflections. The body positivity movement wasn’t just some fleeting internet trend or a catchy marketing slogan. For a lot of us, it was a collective deep breath. It felt like a massive sigh of relief after decades of being told loudly and constantly that our worth was tied to a very specific and very narrow silhouette. We actually started seeing different shapes in our feeds and in our ads, and for the first time in a generation, the internal monologue started to sound a little more compassionate. It felt like the era of the impossible standard was finally hitting its expiration date, replaced by a genuine and messy effort to decouple our health from a clothing size. We were finally learning to just be, but then the needle literally arrived, and that hard-won peace started to crumble faster than anyone expected. The rise of GLP-1 medications has triggered what looks like a massive and silent retreat from the very values we claimed were non-negotiable. It was a great retraction playing out in real-time, and honestly, it’s a bit surreal to watch. We’re seeing the same cultural leaders and influencers who built entire brands on loving your curves and deconstructing the thin ideal suddenly shrinking before our eyes. The bold proclamations of body neutrality have been swapped out overnight for the polite and unassailable language of focusing on my wellness or prioritizing my metabolic health. It’s a jarring pivot that leaves you wondering if our acceptance of diverse bodies was ever actually real. Perhaps body positivity was just a sophisticated survival strategy, a placeholder we used to cope with a world where the ideal felt physically out of reach. But now that a chemical shortcut exists, it feels like the mask is slipping. It turns out that for many of the people leading the charge, the goal wasn't actually to change the standard. It was just to wait for a more efficient way to meet it.
