Come After Me (Part 2)
1h 2m | Oct 27, 2026Come After Me: Discipleship as Walking With Jesus
Ps. Ryan continues lesson two of the “Come After Me” series using Mark 1:16–20, where Simon, Andrew, James, and John immediately leave everything to follow Jesus. He explains discipleship as a shared life and journey with God (mithalek), emphasizing presence over a minimum-requirements, end-focused religion, and describing God’s “ayeka” (Gen. 3) as an invitation to return, not an accusation. He teaches that following Jesus means direction back to the Father, not instant perfection, illustrated by Enoch’s long walk with God and the prodigal son’s return. He presents Jesus as a rabbi with authority (semikhah) whom disciples follow closely, pointing others to Him, valuing church fellowship (1 John 1:6–7), and leaving conditions behind to follow now.
