• The Paper Trail: Waymo is offering Oregon lawmakers free two-day trips to Phoenix to persuade them to support the launch of its robotaxi service in their state.
• Denver Danger: An unoccupied Waymo stopped in the center travel lane on 8th Avenue in Denver, leading to a chain-reaction crash.
• Drivers Demand Reparations: The Atlanta Rideshare Drivers Union is calling for a $0.50 to $1.00 impact fee on every robotaxi ride to fund job training and transition programs for human drivers losing income to automation.
• The Chinese Invasion: Hundreds of sensorless, China-built Waymo vans are currently piled up at the Los Angeles Port. Once the 127.5% tariff and self-driving hardware are factored in, these vehicles cost over $100,000 each.
