42: Take Ownership Over Your Health (4 Pillars of Health)
8m | Aug 11, 2021Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. We have a lot of control over our own health, if we chose so. There are 4 pillars of health that we need to take owner ship of in order to live a better physical and mental life: Nutrition, Exercise, Relaxation, Sleep. These pillars work together to keep your mind and body healthy. Another definition of health is simply Homeostasis - a property of cells, tissues, and organisms that allows the maintenance and regulation of the stability and constancy needed to function properly.
The leading cause of death for many years now, including last year (2020) is Heart Disease. And we know we can control heart disease simply by controlling and taking ownership over your health.
According to Mayoclinic, heart disease is a buildup of fatty plaques in your arteries (atherosclerosis). The most common cause of coronary artery disease. Unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as a poor diet, lack of exercise, being overweight and smoking, can lead to atherosclerosis and many other health complications.
