Music from India's North East has always been special. Something about the area brings out some of the country's best musicians. We'll look at the music, the scene, the hurdles, and the high points of being a North Eastern Indian artist.

For this episode we have three special artists

Rudy Wallang - Rudy is a legend and is one of the most prominent faces of the music scene of the North East. His band Soulmate along with Tipriti TIPS Kharbangar is one of the most popular band's of the country and have been touring the country since 2003. If you hear the blues brewing in any corner of the Indian subcontinent, doubtless you’ll find it’s none other than Rudy and his band Soulmate, concocting their heady potions of Blues, Blues-Rock and Soul.

Takar Nabam - Singer, songwriter and virtuoso guitarist Takar Nabam is a vibrant creator of songs that can capture a listener in several ways, be it nostalgic hooks, vivid storytelling, or bold and forward-thinking musical vision.

Hailing from the tribal region of Arunachal Pradesh, India, Nabam has managed to forge an identity firmly in the vanguard of innovative artists while respecting and building on the deep roots of his culture. Nominated as one of the India’s “Top 5 Guitar Players” by The Indies India in 2021, he utilizes his firm command of both voice and instrument to convey deeply personal narratives of introspection.

DJ Knack - DJ Knack has been at the nexus of music, fashion, and nightlife and is considered as one of the pioneers in introducing and propagating Hip-Hop culture in Meghalaya.
