Hey Housewives! 

We are so excited to share with you our dear friend, Christian life and business coach, Melissa Batt. She is a stay-at-home-mama turned top six-figure direct sales leader who found herself exhausted, checked out of life, and sacrificing her mental health and main priorities to chase success, status, and money. (Unintentionally, of course!) She spent years putting the hustle in front of her marriage, her family, and her faith until God let her fall flat on her face. Through that hard season, she learned to lean on Him for peace, rest, and rescue. Today, she is a life & business coach who helps women slow down, remember their purpose, and lean in closer to Him to live the life He is calling them to. She is super passionate about entrepreneurship because of the freedom and flexibility it allows for those mamas who need to work from home.

💙 We each have worked privately with Melissa as she has been our life coach helping us listen to what God has called us to do…and truth be told, led each of us to the discussion of hosting a podcast and in turn we created this incredible podcast and became the Unlikely Housewives!

💙 Melissa shares with us how she walked into the direct sales world as an outlet to get out of the house, meet new people and connect socially after moving across the country for her husband’s job. She’s always loved the industry and shared with her friends, but never wanted to do it. (So many can relate to this!)

💙 We love Melissa’s heart so much and how open she is about how her multiple moves & diving into her career to escape all the things really affected her marriage and kids.

💙 Once she took her foot off the gas of working her business, she started to see what she was missing in her marriage and with her kids. She started to set business hours, and it really helped. She finally started dreaming again, hearing what God had in store for her, & finally jumped in to starting a nonprofit. In 2020, she started reading “Jesus over Everything” (link below), and this book changed everything for her. She heard God say “You’re done, you are released” and it allowed her to go all in on her coaching. Melissa surrendered everything in her business: a full calendar of events, a six figure paycheck and accolades all in order to obey God. 

💙 She walked right into life coaching and quickly added business coaching as she realized her experience and gift God has given her truly aligns within both. 

💙 Melissa offers a few pieces of advice for someone who is “stuck” in their vision with their direct sales or network marketing business. Tune in to hear her greatest piece of advice that she truly believes equals peace in your heart.

What do a minivan and a Jeep Wrangler have in common? Sounds like the beginning of a joke, right? Well, the joke is on me because I share with you an example of how God knows us better than we know ourselves.

I’m a bit of a control freak. Maybe you are too? How many times do we feel the need to desperately hold on to something when God clearly wants us to let it go?

If we are not careful we become trapped to the things (children, career, location to live, etc) because we are holding on to it with every fiber of our being. When we live with clenched fists desperately holding on to them, we are unable to accept anything new and good from God.

Let's be honest, very often we promote the affirmation and recognition in direct sales as a major benefit. And while most of us probably didn't join simply for the affirmation and recognition, it was a bonus that we didn't know we wanted.

But what happens when you are in a season of planting seeds, where the visual growth isn't happening yet, and you are longing for someone to notice?

We need to remember who our TRUE affirmation and recognition comes from, our Heavenly Father! We work for an audience of one, if we are doing it correctly. And the greatest affirmation we could ever receive are the words, "well done, my good and faithful servant" when we meet Jesus face to face.

Friends! I cannot tell you how excited I am to share with you one of my absolute DEAREST friends, Kim Heard who has been in network marketing for 20+ years. And because she life has thrown her a curve ball (or two or three) this year, she decided to pivot and start with a new company. 

Just a couple of the biggest takeaways for you:

-Nothing happens until someone sells something

-Your passions will change and your circumstances will change, and there is nothing wrong about pivoting when that happens.

-Don’t judge Jesus by His church

-All network marketing businesses have a different business models which doesn’t make one better than the other. 

-Priorities change and you are allowed to shift your focus when they do. 

-If you can’t find the genuine people, BE the genuine people. 

-You can still be successful in this business without a local sponsor or active sponsor. 

-Direct sales in general has been put in a box, don’t let it put YOUR business in a box! 

-Influencers and affiliate marketing is simply Network Marketing 2.0

I’m gonna be real with you. It’s late. I’m tired. And I was going to put off sharing this episode till tomorrow. Because that would have in fact been easier for me. But I couldn’t bring myself to do it. As I started to re-listen to the episode, it was exactly what I needed to be reminded of this very moment. Maybe you need it too.

Are you going to be okay when God tells you no? 

We’ve got the vision boards filled with the incentive trips, the next big promotion, the bonus checks, the exclusive retreats, the company car…   

Not to be a downer here, but what if that is NOT what God has planned for you? The good news is that even if that is not what He has set aside for you, He indeed has something BETTER and GREATER for you. 

The bible verse, “ask and you shall receive” is not a lottery ticket scripture. 

A prize can still be motivation and goals, but hold them with open hands instead of clenched fists.

Have you heard the saying, "The only way you lose is if you quit." Or something to that affect?

I have a different perspective for you.. stop thinking that we "quit" any time we stop doing something (working out at the gym, our devotionals, eating healthy, our network marketing business, etc)

Sometimes when it feels like we are quitting, we are actually lost. And there is a big difference between quitting and getting lost.

How do know the difference between quitting and getting lost? That's easy. You decide it.

You get to decide that you indeed did NOT quit, but you are lost and figuring it out. You get to decide that you are not giving up, but simply taking the scenic route to get there.

When you pick up where you left off, it's not starting over. You are a different person than you were before. You are simply continuing what you started. And good news, God is not done with you yet! If you woke up this morning, if you still have breath in your lungs, you still have work/purpose/and a calling to accomplish! And that's amazing news!

Just like the Israelites who wandered in the desert for 40 years, God will sustain and provide for you everyday. He will waste nothing for those that love him! And your period of being lost has a purpose and He will use it for your good! Your role is simply to trust in Him.

And whatever someone else thinks about your journey, your business, your plan, well... that's just none of your business. It's not that we don't care what others think, we do. But we don't need to worry about what they think about us!

One of the many benefits of our business is the ability to earn trips and travel. I don’t know about you, but my love language is travel. You tell me where, and I will be there! Doesn’t matter for what, I just want to go! But what happens when you don’t earn the leadership trip, the yearly top sales trip, the rank incentive trip, or the exclusive training trip?

Pre-social media, it wouldn’t have mattered right? It would have been out of sight, out of mind for the most part. But now that we post everything on FB/IG/TikTok, we can easily get FOMO bad! 

I want to share with you 3 ways to get rid of the FOMO asap!

-Check your “hustle muscle”. It’s going to be so tempting to go back to the “always on” feeling in your business because you want to make up the gap. Don’t do it. Pray about it. Ask God for wisdom and direction in your business. 

-Unplug if you need to. Guess what? The world will not end and your business will not wither and die if you take a week off of social media to keep the jealousy in check. Rest assure, it will still be there when everyone gets home too.

-Most importantly, remember you are EXACTLY where God wants you. You may never know on this side of Heaven why you needed to be home this week… or maybe you will find out. Either way, you are in the right spot.

-Encourage others that are in the same spot as you!

Does your business exist off of social media? What if tomorrow there was no Facebook, no Instagram, no TikTok, no social media at all?

We have to go back to creating our businesses IN PERSON because we are simply renting space on our social media platforms. It's time to learn what to do in real life too. Here are some big takeaways from this episode!

➡️ Have you shared with your community what you do? Ask them for referrals!
