What is happening everyone! This is another episode of photography hustle; I am your host Luis Rivera and before we start talking photography just want to give a few names out there for helping me reach out to a bigger audience. Also, rumor has it that a shipment of Nikon z9’s is going to be shipping May 10. I don’t think that my order will be in anytime soon which is fine at this point. I just got the Nikon 200-500mm lens and wow that baby is heavy! So, I must stock up on some money to purchase this Nikon z9. I am almost thinking about going backwards and purchasing the Nikon D5 just because I know they will have them in stock. Only issue is how great is the auto focus on that camera? I keep dabbling back and forth on whether I should wait on the Z9 or just get a camera that I know I can purchase and just start using it. Also, I have a lot of F mount Lenses so do you think it’s worth going back? let me know an analysis if you think I should stop waiting or just keep holding on.

Let’s jump into the topic about cars. Before I go on about this topic, I dabbled in a photo or two about cars but never really did a photoshoot about cars or racecars. Where I took the whole day and photoshoot the events about racing throughout. I would have to say I fairly enjoyed myself in the event. I think the fact of going out super early and traveling, meeting new people was satisfying. I can see why photographers love to partake in the events. The event I took place in was in dyno tuning. It is not a race more of an enhancement on making the car better hence the name tuning. Also shout out to Rolo Tuning in Harrisburg PA for letting me shoot while the event was happening.  I shot with my Nikon Z6 24-70 f2.8 lens and since I was not shooting in crazy action scenes, I was shooting in the low shutters with some low ISOs to keep the photos from looking grainy. Using low shutter speeds helps with the car movements not making it look like the car is parked not doing anything.  I could not give you any car specs which all I know is that is a Honda Civic sorry fella. So, if you are looking for getting into the car photo scene it is a lot of fun with a bunch of action shots. I would recommend checking that out. To get into these things make sure you have permission just because you have a camera doesn’t mean you can barge your way in the race and start shooting photos of the event. That would be wrong. Almost as bad as bringing your camera or phone to capture weddings when there are paid photographers shooting the event.

In the end after a long day of enjoying the moment you come out with a sense of accomplishment for the driver and the photographer. The experience for me was entirely different from shooting a wedding. It was a nice change of pace that I do hope to go to one of the races soon and get to show you more along the way. In the photography world my Nikon people were so frustrated and mad the Nikon Z9 was not going to be in until October of 2022. What a rumor that was because now other statements being rumored out there more Nikon Z9 will be shipped out there in mid-January. Now granted we don’t know if we will get any in the United States, Maybe, maybe not who knows. I just got notification by Adorama apologizing for the delay, but I am holding strong still. I have faith it will come through and by then who know I will most likely have some bills paid already and be able to put a good down payment on that. All of us must understand that this isn’t just Nikon its everyone else out there Sony, Fuji, Canon, everyone is hurting to get products such as game consoles and new tech. I read something today on Facebook or meta whatever you want to call it. People are selling these cameras for 12,000.00 dollars you heard right. 12k. Jared Polin said the same thing about that. Prices are the roof I can’t with people. History repeating itself with the game consoles. We must be better with this. Just wait I know I know it sucks whether it is Nikon or Sony or Canon or others please be patient. Watch as I say this someone pre orders their camera tomorrow and get theirs next week ill be sooo hot with that. I will be like what??? Have you ever stopped to think how moods affect your shooting? I haven’t, for example your moods tend to have meaning in the style you shoot. if you are feeling tender you tend to aim for sweeter shots, if you are feeling depressed you aim to shoot more darker tones its all about how you are feeling. I shoot nervous so I tend to shoot with a lens cap on my lens mode. Then you are wondering why it is so dark lmao. I feel as if with Christmas here I wonder how many people will shoot some tender shots or in the colder tones.

Talking about colder tones I won’t get my pre order Nikon Z 9 until after Christmas that’s for sure. I purchased mine through adorama and looks like mine most likely will come after which I am not disappointed just bummed out a little, but never fret I have my trusty Nikon Z6 to still kill out there in the field. I am happy that finally the Nikon world is coming back on track with the others out there making amazing content with beautiful colors. If you have a membership through NPS and purchased yours through the Nikon website most likely you will get yours by the 24^th.

I don’t know why major brand companies like Nikon don’t have where you could get a credit line. This stuff is expensive. I picked adorama since I have a credit line with them. I don’t have 5-7k laying around. The cost for this for an extra battery CF express cards will run that tally up by a couple hundred dollars. For big companies like this should have one making them richer with the interest. Did I just advertised for Nikon finances just now? I am sure major brand cameras don’t this because it can get dicey on both the client and the seller. What do I know about that. I can see where people are going to be price gouging these Z9 to make a buck on this. Also good luck trying to rent one of these. I am sure if it is hard to purchase one renting one of these will be a nightmare. Anywho to the people that do got it congratulations and the people who are waiting patiently like myself it will come sooner or later.  

Last topic I want to hit on the camera world, with the mirrorless coming into play and DSLR being pushed to the side. I wonder if the value of the DSLR’s will start to depreciate since everything is just moving towards the mirrorless world. Me personally I haven’t touched a DSLR in a while. Would I? I would from time to time to get to teach those that want to learn. I am so dependent on the mirrorless world, It would take some time to get back into it and set my shooting methods back into rhythm. Who knows.
