Birthday Party:
Donna: For your birthday, who prefers a big party? I do. I love to have a big party with my friends and family. Big parties are fun. There are presents, balloons and singing.
John: But some people don’t like big parties, like me. I prefer a small dinner with a few friends. Big parties are sometimes very noisy.
Donna: True … but at parties there’s usually a cake.
John: Right! Mmmm. Cake!
Donna: Birthday parties …
John: … or no?

Alex: These boots don’t fit, but returns are easy.
Pam: At stores, people can talk to the sales assistant, ask questions, and find the right size.
Alex: Do you shop online
Pam: … or at the store

S1E4 - 13m - Aug 8, 2026 - 01.05 Typical or Different | معمولی یا متفاوت
Typical or Different:
Alex: Welcome to the Speak Your Mind Vlog. I’m Alex.
Sonya: … and I’m Sonya.
Alex: and we want you to speak your mind. Today we have a question for you. Are you typical or different?
Sonya: Alex, are you like all of your friends, or are you different?
Alex: I’m different. I think it’s really fun to be different from most people. For example, a lot of people drive a typical car, but some people prefer to take a different type of transportation, like this.
Sonya: Do you have a typical pet? Most people have a dog or a cat.
Alex: I like dogs and cats, but my pet isn’t typical.
Sonya: What about music? Do you play the piano or the guitar?
Alex: Well, those are typical instruments. I play a different kind of instrument. I’m really good. Listen!
Sonya: I’m not different at all. In fact, I think it’s fun to be the same. My soccer team has a uniform so we all look the same. At work, I wear the same things as all my co-workers.
Alex: Hey, when’s your birthday?
Sonya: February 29th.
Alex: February 29th! That’s different!
Sonya: Now you speak your mind. Are you typical or different?

S1E5 - 20m - Aug 15, 2026 - 01.06 Work-Life Balance | تعادل کار و زندگی
Work-Life Balance:
Max: Welcome to the Speak Your Mind Vlog. I’m Max.
Amy: ... and I’m Amy, and we want you to speak your mind. Today we’re talking about work and life balance.
Max: Is it really possible?
Amy: For me it’s possible, but it’s not easy. I go to school full-time, and I work part-time. And I want to spend some time with my family and friends on the weekend.
Max: Yeah, I know how that is. A lot of people work long hours and weekends too, like doctors, pilots or journalists. It’s hard to make time for hobbies or even a vacation! …but I’m lucky. I have a job with the same hours every week, nine to five. On the weekends, I hang out with my friends, and go to the movies, or play sports. It’s not really hard for me to balance my life.
Amy: I have a busy life and crazy hours. I need 30 hours in my day to do everything. I have 20 hours of class each week, another 20 hours of work, there’s a family picnic on Sunday, and my photography club on Saturday. I love photography!
Max: Well, I’m glad, but we need to get you to relax a little bit, OK? It’s important to work hard and have time for fun, but we all need balance.
Amy: What do you think? Is it possible to have a good work and life balance? Speak your mind.

S1E6 - 21m - Aug 20, 2026 - 01.07 Time Alone | زمان خلوت
Time Alone:
Sonya: Welcome back to the Speak Your Mind Vlog. I’m Sonya.
Alex: ... and I’m Alex. I’ve been thinking. Is being alone important to you? We all need some time alone, right? But some people like a lot of time alone, and other people ... not really. I work at home alone, and I really enjoy the quiet. It’s just me and my headphones.
Sonya: I work in a busy office with a lot of people. I’m always with my team - meetings, phone calls, more meetings, more phone calls. When I get home, I need some time alone. I like to read a book or watch a movie. I need time alone to relax.
Alex: Well, my day is over. Time to go out to dinner with my friends. I need some conversation, maybe meet my team for a little basketball. I just don’t want to stay home … alone.
Sonya: How much time alone or together do you need? Speak your mind.

S1E7 - 20m - Aug 26, 2026 - 01.08 Last-Minute People | آدمهای لحظه آخری
Last-Minute People:
Max: Hi, it’s Max, and welcome back to the Speak Your Mind vlog. Today, I’m planning to talk to you about planning. Some people are planners. They go to work, eat their lunch, and leave work at the same time every day. They plan their meals, their meetings, and even their free time … and that’s me! I plan my day with this … 6 a.m. wake up 6:15 go for a run … did that. 6:45 shower … yes, did that. 7:10 eat breakfast 7:45 go to work … and, I check my phone a lot so I’m never late. Right on time.
Amy: Some people don’t like to plan their whole day. They don’t make plans. They decide to do things at the last minute. When a friend calls or texts, I usually go out. I like making plans at the last minute! … Hey Max, let’s get some coffee.
Max: Uh, sorry, Amy. Let me check my planner first ...
Amy: Max!!!!!
Max: OK, OK. Meet me at the coffee shop in five minutes. Don’t be late. She’s always late!
Amy: Do you plan your day or decide what to do at the last minute? Speak your mind!

Staying Connected:
Sonya: Welcome back to the Speak Your Mind Vlog. I’m Sonya.
Alex: ... and I’m Alex.
Sonya: … and our topic today is “staying connected.”
Alex: How much is too much?
Sonya: I’m always connected, well, almost always. I’m on my phone most of the day … usually texting … usually talking to my friends about plans, or news, or music. I order food, buy plane tickets, and tell my friends what I like to buy.
Alex: Staying connected is great, but all the time? I don’t know. I like to see my friends, not just on my phone but face to face. I like to connect by having dinner or playing sports, or just hanging out and talking. Sonya? … Sonya?
Sonya: Oh, sorry, I was just …
Alex: … staying connected … I know.
Sonya: Now it’s your turn to speak your mind.
Alex: How much and how often are you connected?

Sport:
Marcus: Welcome back to Speak Your Mind Vlog. I’m Marcus.
Jill: … and I’m Jill, and we’re doing our favorite weekend activity–sports!
Marcus: Yeah, team sports.
Jill: Team sports? No. Individual sports.
Marcus: No, team sports. You know, basketball, soccer, volleyball. Team sports are all about having a great time with your friends. I love my soccer team. We play really well together. When one person scores a goal, we all celebrate … and winning is so exciting! Plus, I look pretty cool in my uniform.
Jill: But individual sports are easy to do any time. I don’t need a team to swim or run or ride my bicycle. I just go! I enjoy my time alone. I try to run a little faster or work out a little longer every day. I relax and feel great!
Marcus: So, what do you prefer – team sports?
Jill: … or individual sports?
Marcus: Team!
Jill: Individual!
Marcus: Speak your mind.

S1E10 - 19m - Sep 16, 2026 - 01.11 Live to Eat | زیستن برای غذا خوردن
Live to Eat:
Amy: Hi, everyone. Welcome to the Speak Your Mind Vlog. We’re back with a topic we know you love - food!
Max: The question today is, “Do you eat to live or live to eat?”
Amy: I know how to answer that. I’m a total foodie! I live to eat. My food HAS to taste good. I love spicy dishes, sweet things. I love trying food from all over the world. Look at all the different food I’ve tasted. Korean, French, Japanese, Italian. I want to try everything.
Max: I’m not sure I want to try everything. I know the food I like. I don’t have to try new things. I eat eggs and cereal for breakfast. Maybe I have a sandwich and an apple for lunch. For dinner, I might make pasta, barbecue chicken, or bake some fish and vegetables. I eat to live with simple, healthy food.
Amy: Max, you’re missing some delicious stuff! I love to cook lots of different food. Let’s see. Maybe an Indian curry tonight?
Max: Hmm … so, are you thinking about healthy food that gives you energy, or the next fantastic meal?
Amy: Do you live to eat, or eat to live? Speak your mind.
Max: Eat to live!

Tourism:
Marcus: It’s time for the Speak Your Mind Travel Vlog. I’m Marcus and I’m with Jill, and today we’re all packed for vacation. You ready?
Jill: I don’t know. I’m not sure we should go. I know you want to see all the big cultural attractions, but it’s so crowded … and don’t you think that so much tourism is bad?
Marcus: Oh, come on. Tourism is good for the economy. People make good money from hotels, restaurants, tours. We’re doing a good thing.
Jill: But maybe too much good. Too much tourism is bad for the environment. Plus, most tourists don’t even know anything about the places they visit. They just take a selfie in front of something famous and move on.
Marcus: So, are you really going to stay home? You’re missing out on such a good thing.
Jill: All right, I’ll go. But we’re going to visit a place that most tourists don’t go. OK?
Marcus: Sounds good. What do you think? Is tourism good or bad?
Jill: Speak your mind.

Online Life:
Sonya: Hi again. The Speak Your Mind vlog is back, and today it’s all about posting your life online.
Alex: Not how to do it, but how much to do it.
Sonya: Some people share everything online. Like me. See, I ate this amazing dinner at a new restaurant. And here, my soccer team won a big game. And my cat … she’s so cute! And here’s the dress that I bought and that wedding I went to. I take a lot of photos and videos and put a lot of my life online.
Alex: I don’t put much of my life online. I don’t need to share every meal or everything I do with my friends. I’m pretty sure they don’t want to see my dinner or my dog. I only post the important things in my life.
Sonya: Congratulations, Alex!
Alex: Thank you!
Sonya: So, what about you? How much of your life do you put online? Speak your mind.
