In a tone that croons, soars, and lifts up into a brilliant falsetto, the freshness of John-Robert’s youthful sound is tinged with bits of ragged nostalgia and older wisdom — even as it searches.

“I want my music to feel familiar, but like something you’ve never heard before. That’s the goal.” With the excellent set of songs on  his debut album, John-Robert is certainly on his way.

As with pretty much everything else in Turkey, the prices of cell phone minutes and data have sky-rocketed lately. I know that my audience is made up mostly of young people who probably spend a lot of time on public transportation, and it occurred to me recently that they might be reluctant to watch my videos on the bus because it will use up so much of their data. As we all know, data is expensive. So I then got the idea to start a podcast that would allow them to improve their English on the bus or anywhere else. Hopefully many people will find this podcast useful in their pursuit of better English skills.
