Believers stop growing spiritually because of:

• Fear of failure (afraid to try) or disappointment (unanswered prayer)
• Offense or unresolved hurt-especially Church hurt
• Inconsistency without accountability-no one to disciple them
• Isolation-Trying to grow alone
• Lack of focus-looking at how other’s living and should focus on what God told them Ex. Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep. Peter asked Jesus what John was going to do.

• Proverbs 4:23 – Guard your heart
• Hebrews 12:1 – Weights vs sins

Reframe

God doesn’t expose these things to shame us — He exposes them to heal us. God shows us other believers faults so we can restore them in private-not so we can expose them to the world. God wants to protect the sheep-not scatter them.

Many believers stop growing because no one ever taught them the difference between being saved and being discipled.

Teaching Points

• Salvation is a moment; discipleship is a journey
• Jesus commanded discipleship, not decisions only
• Maturity is developed, not downloaded

Discipleship teaches you how to walk with God daily.

Many believers lose battles they were meant to win because they’re fighting the wrong enemy.

When you get offended, the enemy wants you to fight people instead of fighting him.

But 2 Corinthians 10:4 says,

“The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.”

So you don’t fight with anger, gossip, or control. You fight with prayer, praise, and the Word of God.

4. Worship in the Midst of Battle – Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16).
5. Worship will lead you to divine strategy-Jehoshaphat was told to put the singers out in front of the army and let them worship.
