31. PJ Hill | Never Stop Fighting For Your Dreams

Season 1
1h 9m | Sep 1, 2020

Growing up in a 3 bedroom house, with 12 people living in it, PJ Hill's father taught him that basketball was going to be his way to success. PJ went on to play Division 1 basketball at Ohio State University, play almost a decade of professional basketball overseas, and had a career he is proud of. His journey, however, was no walk in the park. There were many moments when it seemed all but impossible for him to be a professional basketball player. In fact, after his time at Ohio State, him and his 2 year old daughter were living in Minneapolis, he was working construction, parking cars, and training young basketball players. He had to sell his car to have money to survive, but he never quit. Now, PJ is heavily involved in the social reform happening in Minneapolis. After the killing of George Floyd, he paired up with former NBA player Royce White to start fighting for what is right. PJ is a local leader, activist, and fighting for the Minnesota of tomorrow. In this interview, we talk about: His story to professional basketball, Turning failures into successes, The journey of life, The mindset of a leader, The killing of George Floyd, and How to make social change.
