God appears to Abram again and changes his name to Abraham. This is also when Sarai&#39;s name is changed to Sarah. They also get the name for this promised child revealed to them, Isaac. Although they are so close to seeing this promise come to pass they still have more to learn and grow.

Abraham passes his next test of faith! We see the incredible work God is doing in Abrahams life, and by contrast the foolish choices Lot is making. Towards the end of the chapter we meet the King of Salem, Melchizedek.

We look at a moment in Abraham and Sarahs life where one of them ran to the world for help, while the other trusted in the Lord with all their heart. Towards the end we see Lot beginning to backslide again.

As we finish Mark chapter 14 we find such a sad scene. After so many wonderful moments with Jesus and declarations of devotion, by the end of the chapter Peter will have denied Jesus three times with oaths and cursing. But thank God, that is not the end of his story!
