• 67. Send it, learn from failure, and keep moving forward.

    Hunting season is here.

For some of you, that means months of preparation are finally coming together. For others, this might be your first season ever stepping into the woods.

Either way, this episode is a reminder to stop putting so much pressure on the outcome and start appreciating the experience.

    You might miss.

    You might screw up.

You might sit all day and never see an animal.

You might realize you have absolutely no idea what you're doing.

And that's okay. It's okay to suck at something new.

Nobody starts as an expert. You learn by going. You learn by asking questions, making mistakes, paying attention, and putting yourself in situations where you have an opportunity to grow.

Because there are no guarantees in hunting, or in life.

You aren't guaranteed to punch a tag. You aren't guaranteed to see the buck you've been chasing. You aren't guaranteed another season with the same hunting buddies, your dad, your kids, or the people sitting around deer camp.

The only guarantee you can give yourself is whether or not you went.

    So go.

Take the trip. Hunt the public ground. Sit in the rain. Bring your kids. Call your dad. Invite the friend who's never hunted before.

And somewhere along the way, stop worrying about what's coming next and appreciate where you are.

Sit quietly in the woods. Close your eyes. Listen.

The wind. The leaves. The birds. The squirrels. The world waking up around you.

Most people will never experience those moments.

This episode is about remembering why we hunt in the first place. It's about embracing the adventure, being willing to learn, appreciating the people beside us, and understanding that someday we'd give almost anything for one more morning in the woods.

Don't wait until it's over to realize how good you had it.

Get outside. Stay curious. Make mistakes. Take someone with you.

And this hunting season, don't just chase the outcome.

    Experience more.

  • 66. Confidence Comes From Doing

Confidence isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you earn.

In this week’s episode of the Experience More Podcast, we’re talking about one of the biggest things holding people back from chasing the life they actually want: waiting until they feel confident enough to start.

The truth is, the work comes before the belief—and the belief builds the confidence.

You don’t become confident and then take the risk. You take the risk, do the work, survive the failures, learn from the mistakes, and prove to yourself that you’re capable. That’s where confidence comes from.

In this episode, we dive into getting outside your comfort zone, surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, and learning to take action even when you don’t have everything figured out.

We also talk about the danger of overthinking. Sometimes you can research, plan, prepare, and analyze something for so long that you never actually move.

Eventually, you’ve just gotta send it.

Your first attempt probably won’t be perfect. Your business will evolve. Your fitness will evolve. Your relationships will evolve. Your goals will evolve. Even this podcast will continue to evolve.

But none of that evolution happens if you never start.

    So ask yourself:

What have you been waiting to feel confident enough to do?

Make the call. Take the trip. Start the business. Sign up for the event. Walk into the gym. Launch the project. Have the conversation.

Whatever scares the shit out of you might be exactly where you need to go.

Stop waiting for confidence. Take the first swing. Do the work. Build the proof.

    Because confidence comes from doing.

If this episode hits home, send it to someone who needs a push to stop waiting and start taking action.

  • 65. What You Do When Nobody’s Watching | Nolan Goshey

In this episode of the Experience More Podcast, Jake sits down with Nolan Goshey, a lifelong outdoorsman from central Minnesota whose passion for hunting, hard work, and craftsmanship has shaped the way he approaches life.

Nolan shares how growing up hunting and fishing, especially his first experiences duck hunting with his dad—built a lifelong connection to the outdoors. He also talks about spending a decade working as a lineman before eventually joining his father’s electrical business, where he saw an opportunity to carry on what his dad built while continuing to grow and innovate.

The conversation dives into working alongside family, balancing business with life outside of work, and why taking pride in the things nobody sees still matters.

One idea continues to surface throughout the episode:

How you do one thing is how you do everything.

Whether it's wiring something that will eventually be hidden behind a wall, putting in the work when nobody is watching, or pursuing the things that make you feel alive, Nolan's story is a reminder that your standards matter.

If you value the outdoors, hard work, family, craftsmanship, and building a life around the things you love, this episode is for you.

The story you tell yourself becomes the life you live.

In this episode of the Experience More Podcast, Jake dives into one of the biggest factors separating people who stay stuck from those who continue to grow: the narrative they choose to believe. From limiting beliefs and negative self-talk to visualization, personal ownership, and taking action, this episode challenges you to examine the story you've been repeating—and asks whether it's helping you or holding you back.

Drawing from his own journey, Jake shares how rewriting the stories in his own mind changed the direction of his life. He breaks down practical ways to replace excuses with ownership, setbacks with lessons, and fear with forward progress. Whether you're chasing bigger goals in the outdoors, in your career, or in life, this conversation will remind you that while you can't control everything that happens to you, you can control the meaning you give it and the next chapter you choose to write.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • Why the stories you tell yourself shape your future.
    • How to recognize and overcome limiting beliefs.
    • The power of visualization and intentional thinking.
    • Why your environment and the people around you matter.
    • How small, consistent actions rewrite your life over time.
    • Why your attitude and effort are always within your control.

Your past may explain your story—but it doesn't have to define your future. The pen is still in your hands.

  • 62. The Cost Of Comfort

What is comfort really costing you?

In Episode 62 of the Experience More Podcast, Jake dives into a powerful truth that many of us avoid: while everyone talks about the price of hard work, very few people talk about the price of comfort.

Comfort may feel good in the moment, but over time it can quietly steal your confidence, discipline, opportunities, and sense of purpose. Every difficult conversation you avoid, every challenge you put off, and every excuse you make comes with a cost. The longer you wait, the greater that cost becomes.

Jake explores why growth is found outside your comfort zone, how discomfort prepares you for life's greatest opportunities, and why the adventures we remember most were never the easiest ones. Drawing from lessons in fitness, the outdoors, personal development, and everyday life, this episode challenges you to stop settling for what's easy and start pursuing what will make you stronger.

Whether you're chasing a healthier lifestyle, preparing for hunting season, building a business, becoming a better parent, or simply trying to become the best version of yourself, this conversation will encourage you to embrace the hard things that lead to a more meaningful life.

Because at the end of the day, the question isn't whether discomfort has a cost, it's whether you're willing to pay the far greater price of staying comfortable.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. The next adventure, opportunity, and version of yourself are waiting on the other side of discomfort.

  • 61. Building a Life Around the Outdoors with Carson DuBois

Experience More: Building a Life Around the Outdoors with Carson DuBois

What does it really mean to build a life around the outdoors?

In Episode 61 of the Experience More Podcast, Jake sits down with Carson DuBois for an authentic conversation about life, service, fitness, and the impact the outdoors has had on shaping who he is today.

Carson shares his journey, from his military background and the values it instilled, to building a life centered around the outdoors, hunting, fitness, and helping others live with greater purpose. He opens up about how his experiences in the military helped shape his discipline, resilience, and perspective, and how those lessons continue to influence the way he approaches life today.

Together, Jake and Carson discuss the powerful connection between mental health, physical fitness, and time spent outdoors. They dive into why community matters, how consistency creates confidence, and why the greatest rewards aren't always measured by success in the field, but by the people you're with and the memories you create along the way.

This isn't just a conversation about hunting. It's about becoming the kind of person others can depend on, embracing challenges, and intentionally building a life filled with adventure, meaningful relationships, and purpose.

In this episode, you'll hear about:

    • Carson's military background and how it shaped his character.
    • His journey into hunting, the outdoors, and living an active lifestyle.
    • Why fitness became a cornerstone for both his physical and mental health.
    • The importance of surrounding yourself with people who challenge and encourage you.
    • Lessons learned through hunting, adventure, and shared experiences in the outdoors.
    • Why consistency, not perfection, is the key to long-term success.
    • How the best memories are built around campfires, mountain trails, and time spent with the people who matter most.

Whether you're a hunter, a veteran, someone working to improve your health, or simply looking for an honest conversation about living with greater purpose, this episode will leave you inspired to get outside, challenge yourself, and invest in what truly matters.

Get outside. Move your body. Build meaningful relationships. Chase experiences over possessions.

Because at the end of the day, life isn't measured by what you own—it's measured by the experiences you live and the people you share them with.

  • 59. Actions Over Emotions

We all have days when motivation is gone, emotions run high, and the easiest thing to do is nothing.

The question is: Who is leading your life—your emotions or your actions?

In this week's solo episode of the Experience More Podcast, Jake dives into one of the biggest mindset shifts that has changed his life, marriage, career, and personal growth: learning that emotions are real, but they should never be in charge.

Drawing from personal stories, hard lessons, and principles from Extreme Ownership, this episode explores why discipline consistently beats motivation and why success belongs to the people who continue taking action even when they don't feel like it.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • Why emotions are powerful but often make poor leaders.
    • How taking ownership changes your relationships and communication.
    • The importance of seeing challenges from the "10,000-foot view."
    • Why consistency—not feelings—is what creates lasting success.
    • Practical ways to respond instead of react when life gets difficult.
    • How controlling your actions ultimately gives you control over your future.

Whether you're working toward better health, building stronger relationships, chasing a career goal, or simply trying to become a better version of yourself, this episode is a reminder that your feelings don't determine your future—your actions do.

Because at the end of the day, discipline lasts long after motivation disappears.

  • 58. Why Most People Stay Stuck

Most people don't stay stuck because they lack talent, intelligence, or opportunity.

They stay stuck because comfort quietly becomes their identity.

In this episode of the Experience More Podcast, Jake Arvold dives into one of the biggest barriers to personal growth: choosing the familiar over the uncomfortable. From careers and relationships to fitness, faith, and chasing your dreams, it's easy to convince yourself that you'll start "when the time is right."

The truth? That perfect moment rarely comes.

Jake shares personal stories and practical lessons on overcoming fear, trusting your instincts, and taking action before you feel ready. If you've been waiting for motivation, permission, or certainty, this episode is the reminder you need that progress begins with a single step.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • Why comfort can become one of the biggest obstacles to growth.
    • How fear disguises itself as security.
    • The importance of having honest conversations with yourself.
    • Why confidence comes after action—not before.
    • How small, consistent decisions can completely change the trajectory of your life.

Whether you're pursuing a new career, training for your next hunt, building a business, becoming a better spouse or parent, or simply trying to become the person you know you're capable of being, this episode will challenge you to stop waiting and start moving.

Because the mission has never been to stay comfortable.

The mission has always been to Experience More.

  • 57. Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes

Change is uncomfortable, but growth always is.

In this episode of the Experience More Podcast, I dive into one of the simplest truths I've learned through life, business, fatherhood, fitness, and the outdoors:

    Nothing changes if nothing changes.

During a recent road trip back to Wisconsin with my wife and daughter, I found myself reflecting on the journey that has brought me to where I am today, from growing up on a farm in rural Wisconsin, to building a career at 1st Phorm, launching 1st Phorm Outdoors, becoming a husband and father, and pursuing opportunities that once felt completely out of reach.

The common thread through every meaningful chapter of my life? Change.

We discuss why so many people stay stuck in routines that no longer serve them, how comfort can quietly become the biggest obstacle to growth, and why the things we're most proud of often begin on the other side of fear and uncertainty.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    • Why change is necessary for personal growth

    • How parenthood gave me greater clarity and purpose

    • Lessons learned from growing up on a Wisconsin farm

    • The importance of surrounding yourself with the right people

    • How to overcome fear and stop making excuses

    • Why embracing discomfort can lead to a more fulfilling life

If you've been feeling stuck, searching for direction, or know deep down that it's time to make a change, this episode is for you.

Because at the end of the day, the life you want won't be created by staying where you are.

    Nothing changes if nothing changes.

As always, thank you for listening. If this episode brings you value, please share it with a friend, leave a review, and help us continue reaching more people through the Experience More Podcast.

  • 56. The Power of Perspective

Have you ever noticed how two people can go through the exact same experience and walk away with completely different outlooks?

After a wild weekend at Summer Smash, I found myself reflecting on just how powerful perspective can be. It's easy to focus on the chaos, the obstacles, the things that didn't go according to plan, but what if we chose to focus on the opportunities instead?

In this episode, I share lessons from my own journey, from showing up to events where I didn't know a single person to building friendships and relationships that have completely changed my life. We'll talk about why the people you surround yourself with matter, how gratitude can shift your mindset, and why life may be happening for you, not to you.

If you've been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or focused on the negatives, this conversation will challenge you to look at your circumstances through a different lens and start seeing the opportunities that may have been there all along.

Because often, the biggest thing standing between where you are and where you want to be is simply your perspective.

    Let's dive in.
