2 - We’re Going to Need a Bigger Fund...

Season 1 | Episode 2
1h 18m | May 17, 2021

In this episode we get into the interwar period (1920 to 1939) and explore not only a golden age of crazy drivers (looking at you Louis Chrion, Rudi Caracciola, and Tazio Nuvolari), but also how the socio-political environment of Europe affected racing and vice versa. Starting with the slow trainwreck that was the 1920s constructors series, we trace the origins of organized grand prix driver’s championships and consider how they helped shape Formula One. We also talk about pet monkeys and 1980s Miami drug dealers- but you will have to listen to find out how all that ties in!
