The Riemann Hypothesis, Explained

On October 31, 2026, the Fields medalist Manjul Bhargava, working with GPT-6, proved that every elliptic curve over the rationals whose points of order two are not all rational is cyclic modulo a positive proportion of primes, without the generalized Riemann hypothesis that Jean-Pierre Serre needed in 1977-78. It became possible because AI systems this fall proved the first fixed zero-free half-planes for the zeta function and its cousins: 7/8 (an internal OpenAI model), 31/32 for every number field (AxiomProver, for Dean Cureton and Jesse Thorner, checked in Lean) and 0.87446... (Baiying Liu, with Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6.1). The ASI Pill builds the Riemann hypothesis from scratch, from Riemann's nine pages of 1859 to the primes rebuilt from waves, and asks whether any of it touches Bitcoin (it does not).
