• 5 Best Free Resources For Solopreneurs

In this tutorial, I'm going to tell you the five best free resources for solopreneurs.

Just like entrepreneurs, solopreneurs need tools in their arsenal to make their days easier and work more professional. For solopreneurs just starting out, it can be hard to afford some of the fanciest resources available, which is why knowing the free sources can be key to success.

Let's learn about these great resources that are completely free and will help your solopreneur business dramatically.

    1. Workflow Max

If you are looking for an integrated platform, Workflow Max is tough to beat. You can use this tool on a smart device or laptop, making it convenient for you. Additionally, Workflow Max handles just about everything related to solopreneur job management.

For example, this project management software lets you manage your scheduling, quoting, invoicing, time tracking, and reporting. It does even more, such as lead management, making all processes of project management easier.

    2. Zapier

One thing that can be annoying as a solopreneur is that every little task must be finished by you, even the little minute tasks that are more annoying and time-consuming than difficult to complete. Zapier helps you automate tasks, which saves you a lot of time.

How Zapier works is that it teaches over 750 apps to work together. With the free plan, you can create basic automation and build individual connections. If you want more customization, you can invest in the premium plan.

    3. Grammarly

No matter which industry you are in, you will have to write something at one point, such as a proposal or an email. One of the worst things you can do is show potential clients a document that is riddled with spelling or grammatical errors.

Grammarly is one of the best tools to make sure everything you write is correct and sounds great. You can easily integrate Grammarly into your web browser or download the app. You can upgrade for a premium account if you want more technical suggestions.

    4. Square

As a solopreneur, you may need to accept payments through debit or credit cards. If you are a solopreneur, you likely understand the stress of trying to find a payment option that doesn't cost an arm and a leg in setup or fees while still being safe and secure.

Square is one of the safest and most affordable options on the market. It has zero fees associated with setup, and it only keeps 2.75% of transactions made through Square. This will allow you to accept more credit and debit card payments with peace of mind that you aren't breaking the bank or jeopardizing someone’s payment sources.

    5. Hootsuite

Social media is crucial in any market today. If you want to be a successful solopreneur, you need professional social media accounts. It can be difficult to track all of your accounts and processes though. Hootsuite makes the job easier.

Essentially, Hootsuite works as a virtual assistant and manages all of your accounts. With the free version, you can connect to three different social media sites, view analytics, and schedule messages. You can invest in the payment options if you need more account access or if you have a team.

    Closing Remarks

I hope these five free tools can help your solopreneur business reach new heights. With the help of these tools, you can look more professional and save time throughout your day, allowing you to focus on the bigger project hurdles and tasks.

  • 5 Helpful Tax Tips All Solopreneurs Should Know

Today, I am going to tell you 5 helpful tax tips all solopreneurs should know. As just about any self-employed person knows, tax season is incredibly stressful. Even if you hire an experienced accountant, tax season is a little different for self-employed people, which is what makes it so challenging.

These five tips can help the process go a bit smoother with fewer headaches. Let’s get started.

    1. Estimate Income

The first tax tip for solopreneurs is to estimate your income. When you estimate income, you can also estimate how much you will need to pay in taxes. This will come in handy in case you need to file for quarterly taxes. It also helps you you can plan ahead. Currently, the self-employment tax is about 15.3%.

If you have been consistently working self-employed for some time, estimating your income will likely be pretty easy. If you're new to the game, it can be more of a challenge. Look at how much you are making now and try to factor in how much you expect to increase throughout the year.

    2. Plan Ahead

As a solopreneur, you will need to pay a self-employment tax. These taxes go to paying Medicare and Social Security. All freelancers, small business owners, and independent contractors must pay self-employment taxes. Once again, this comes out to 15.3% of your earnings. It's important to plan ahead so that you are not left in the dust whenever tax season rolls around.

I recommend creating a separate savings account where you withdraw about 25% of each paycheck and stash it away for tax season. This will make it much easier to pay taxes without breaking into your savings.

    3. Organize Receipts

Make sure to have a thorough receipt organization system. This includes physical receipts, email receipts, and other digital receipts. You will not be able to prove your earnings or expense costs if you do not have the proper receipts and documentation.

For earnings, make sure to keep the receipts, but also create an Excel spreadsheet. It's also a good idea to create an Excel spreadsheet about all of your expenses. This makes it much easier on you when tax season comes around.

It's also a great idea to automate as much as you can. Automation will ensure that everything is organized, even when you are a bit scatterbrained or too busy to focus on meticulous details.

    4. Take Advantage of Tax Deductions

As a solopreneur, you get more tax deductions. This can include features of your home office and even your Internet and phone bills if they are used for your business. Even specialized publications, subscriptions, and car mileage can be tax deductible. Take advantage of these tax deductions to pay as little as possible in tax season.

I recommend looking online or talking to an experienced accountant who knows a lot about self-employment tax deductions to learn about exactly what can be deducted from your taxes.

    5. Increase Retirement Contributions

Although IRA contributions are limited, you can contribute more to your retirement accounts by opening a SIMPLE, SEP, or profit-sharing plan. This is a great way to increase retirement contributions, even as a self-employed worker..

    Final Thoughts

Tax season is stressful for anyone, but it is especially stressful for solopreneurs and other self-employed workers. Incorporate these tax tips into your tax plan so that you'll be more prepared and knowledgeable when tax season rolls around.

  • 4 Shocking Ways Your Children Can Help Grow Your Solopreneur Business

Today, I am going to talk about four shocking ways your children can help grow your solopreneur business.

When people think about both work and having children, they naturally think of all the negatives. Obviously, starting a solopreneur business when you are also a parent is a lot of extra work, leaving you to feel tired and overwhelmed. Although there certainly are negatives to starting a solopreneur business as a parent, there are many benefits as well.

For example, children can actually help grow your business. I know this sounds odd, but it is true. Let’s find out exactly how your children can help your solopreneur business grow to new heights.

    1. They Can Give You Wacky Ideas

Many people don't take what children say very seriously. After all, about 95% of what comes out of their mouth is utter nonsense. As a solopreneur, you can use that nonsense as inspiration to help your business become more successful and unique.

Kids have the wackiest ideas. Although they sound weird at first, their ideas are a little bit genius in their simplicity and effectiveness. Sometimes, all it takes is a really random suggestion by your child to come up with new products or ways to promote your services.

    2. They Can Introduce You To More Potential Clients

Kids want to have really active social lives, complete with a lot of play dates and end sleepovers. Although this is a lot of work to you, it does give you the opportunity to meet more potential clients and customers. You should not bombard your children’s friend’s parents with your services, but it certainly does not help to mention that you can help out if the situation ever arises.

Even if the other parents do not meet your business's target demographic, those parents may be able to recommend you to other people they know.

    3. They Are Free Promotion

All children are excited to show up and represent their parents. That is, until they become preteens and teenagers who care about looking cool. Still, young children look up to their parents and would be more than happy to be free promotion.

If you have merchandise shirts, you can easily have one made in their size for them to wear to school or other functions. Plus, young children are likely to tell other adults what you do if you can explain your work to them in an easy-to-remember way. If you integrate your child into the production or services, they’re even more likely to be eager to tell other people about it.

    4. They Keep You Motivated

Children are a hassle at times, but they are some of the best motivations. As parents, we want our children to have the best lives possible. Because of this fact, your children can help you stay motivated, even when you feel tired or rundown.

    Final Comments

Oddly enough, children can be a great help when it comes to running a solopreneur business. Whether it’s their odd commentary that leads to wacky services or free promotion, children really can help you grow your business without even trying.

  • 5 Amazing Tips Successful Solopreneurs Want To Keep Secret

Today, I'm going to tell you about 5 amazing tips successful solopreneurs want to keep secret. Becoming a solopreneur can be incredibly beneficial, but it requires a lot of hard work and know-how, which is why knowing these tips can make your solopreneur journey easier and more successful. Let's learn about these 5 tips successful solopreneurs swear by.

    1. Know Why You Want To Become A Solopreneur

The first step in becoming a solopreneur is knowing why you want to become a solopreneur in the first place. Even though being a solopreneur comes with a lot of benefits, it requires a lot of time, effort, and sweat. If you don't know why you want to become a solopreneur, it's easy to get bogged down in the work and effort.

Whether you want to eventually start your own business or benefit from delegating your own time, know exactly why you want to become a solopreneur to keep yourself motivated when things get tough.

    2. Create Your Working Base

Another tip that successful solopreneurs swear by is creating a working base. When you first start working, your kitchen table or couch is fine. In the long term, you need a comfortable and efficient working space that allows you to make the most of your time and effort. You can either create an office in your home or rent out a coworking space.

    3. Work Smarter, Not Harder

The next tip you need to keep in mind is to work smarter, not harder. The work of a solopreneur is difficult, to say the least. Don't make work harder on yourself by taking the longest route for everything. Instead, don't be afraid to delegate tasks, automate tasks, or pay for helpful tools that are worth the investment. These items will make work easier, allowing you to focus on the heavy lifting.

    4. Create A Network

One of the most difficult parts of being a solopreneur is it often feels like a one-man show, which is why successful solopreneurs recommend creating a network of like-minded individuals. A network will keep you connected with other people, and it will also help you when times get tough.

For example, your network may be able to help promote your services or give you recommendations when you need help on a project. Just make sure your network is trustworthy and like-minded to give yourself the best chance of succeeding. Also, don’t forget that you are part of their network, meaning to give back and help them when they need it!

    5. Don’t Give Up

Finally, the last tip to remember is to not give up. You are guaranteed to make a lot of mistakes in the process. Do not get discouraged whenever this happens. Instead, stay motivated and use those instances as learning opportunities. Later on, you will be more than thankful that you kept pushing and didn't give up.

    Conclusion

Becoming a successful solopreneur is hard, but you can make the task easier for yourself by learning from other successful solopreneurs who have stood where you currently stand. Remember to know why you want to become a solopreneur, create a working base, work smarter, create a network, and don't give up.

Though these tips won't make becoming a solopreneur as easy as pie, they certainly will make the process easier and more beneficial in the long run.

  • 3 Amazing Solopreneur Success Stories

    1. Allen Walton

Allen Walton, according to himself, was a high school failure with a GPA of just 2.9. After that, he worked at a camera store for a little over minimum wage. It wasn't until he got the idea to become a solopreneur that he became successful.

Allen’s solopreneur business included a spy camera website. His website became so popular, in fact, that he eventually transformed from a solopreneur to a full-fledged business person, complete with hired help and all. Now almost 27, he is on track to making 7 figures.

What really makes Allen’s story stand out is that he wasn't necessarily spectacular. Instead, he was just a regular guy with regular talent. With a special niche and a lot of hard work, however, he grew an incredibly successful solopreneur business.

    2. Mark Anastasi

Some people have some real rag-to-riches stories because of their solopreneur business. Mark Anastasi is just one of these stories. Before he started his own business, he was $12,000 in debt, unemployed, and homeless. Today, the script is completely flipped, and Mark makes nearly $10,000 a month with almost no effort.

His solopreneur business started when he got a mentor who helped him market himself. From there, Mark wrote helpful eBooks and websites all about making money online. By using Google AdWords relentlessly, he was able to market his book at a really high price.

Much like Allen’s story, Mark’s story tells you that you don't need anything to run a successful solopreneur business. All you need is a lot of ambition and effort. As long as you don't give up and find helpful mentors and peers along the way, you too can have a rags-to-riches success story.

    3. Spencer Koppel

Finally, the last successful solopreneur story on our list is that of Spencer Koppel. Spencer is a little different from our top two stories in that he had a traditional nine-to-five job. He didn't start his solopreneur journey until after he retired.

His solopreneur business is all about helping geeks like himself find love. His matchmaking service serves nearly 60,000 members just after five years of work. Since Spencer does all the work himself, he gains incredibly high profits, allowing himself to make six figures a year.

Spencer’s story is completely unique in that he started a successful solopreneur business after retirement. He is living proof that you can take control of your finances and start a passionate solopreneur project no matter how old you are.

    Final Thoughts

These amazing solopreneur stories show you that transforming your solopreneur business into a lucrative money-making operation is fully possible. Whether you are a high school dropout or retiree, you can be a successful solopreneur story yourself with a little bit of effort and ambition.

  • 3 Tips For A Healthy Work-to-Break Ratio As A Solopreneur -Episode 38

In this tutorial, I'm going to teach you 3 tips for a healthy work-to-break ratio as a solopreneur. One thing many solopreneurs struggle with is feeling overwhelmed and overworked since they handle all their business themselves.

Not to mention, many solopreneurs feel like they have to keep working in order to make enough money to support their lifestyle and goals. All around, overwork and burnout are some real challenges that the everyday solopreneur faces.

One way that solopreneurs can tackle these issues is by having a healthy work-to-break, or work-to-life ratio. Here are 3 tips for achieving a healthy work-to-break ratio to keep you motivated and healthy, even as a solopreneur.

    1. Set Up “Work Hours”

As a solopreneur, it is easy to simply work when you feel like it. Because you manage your own time and resources, there's no one breathing down your neck to tell you when to work and when to sleep. This is an obvious benefit of being a solopreneur, but it comes with a drawback: your work-to-break ratio can be completely skewed.

Though it is OK to not follow a schedule every now and then, you need to have a pretty consistent work schedule to follow on your regular work days. Work hours can help you know when it's work time and when it's rest time. Make sure to schedule given breaks into your day, just as you would if you worked at an office.

    2. Schedule Off Days

In addition to having work hours, make sure to schedule off days as well. Most solopreneurs have a wacky schedule that has them doing work seven days a week. Though there are some weeks where you may need to work more than others, you need to have consistent off days.

If you have children, you might want to schedule your off days on the weekend when they are home from school. You can also schedule off days on any other day during the week if another day fits your schedule better. It doesn't matter when your off days are, just that you take them.

    3. Plan For Holidays, Vacations, and Sick Days

Finally, the third tip for having a healthy work-to-break ratio is planning for holidays, vacations, and sick days. When you have a regular nine to five job, you will have paid vacation and sick days. Though you obviously won't get paid for these days when you work for yourself, that doesn't mean you shouldn't take them.

    Follow Through

The three tips we mentioned above all relate to planning your work life in a way so that you have free time to focus on yourself and rejuvenate. It's important to note that these tips mean nothing if you are not willing to follow through.

Make sure that you consistently stick to your work schedule, complete with frequent breaks. Also, do not work at all on off days, holidays, vacations, and sick days. Though it may be difficult to fight the temptation to work, give yourself a break and view these off days as actual off days.

If you need a little extra motivation to improve your work-to-break ratio, just remember that breaks are necessary for mental and physical health. If you don't take time off, you will get worn out and sick, causing you to experience burnout and produce lower-quality work. In other words, taking more breaks leads to better work, which leads to a more successful business.

  • Living on the Edge, "Creating the Life You Deserve!"-Moving beyond fear-

    MOVE BEYOND FEAR

“Ultimately we know deeply that the other side of every fear is freedom.”

    Marilyn Ferguson

With any great change in life there's bound to be a moment of fear. A brief second in our lives where we hold our breath, truly alert and alive, as we try to muster up the courage to step forward into the unknown.

Fulton Oursler, author of The Greatest Story Ever Told said that, “Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves - regret for the past and fear of the future.”

Fear has no special power over us. Nothing does unless we give our power over to it. And what is the past but a memory, a faint whisper upon the wind.

If you want to change your life you must push past your fears. And an easy way to do that is to get clear on where you want to be. It's easier to step forward bravely if their is a goal that we can work toward. And sleeping within all our hearts is a secret world that we all want to awaken. So cling fiercely to this vision for it will help to see you through.

Feel your fear but do what needs to be done.

    F.E.A.R.

I can't remember where I heard it from but I do know that it was years and years ago. I think a wise friend of mine must have told me what fear means.

FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real

You may have already noticed this: Every time you feel fear it's not because the situation you're about to encounter is one that can strike terror into your heart.

It's not like while you're walking home one night you're going to encounter a Bengali tiger that hasn't eaten for weeks. And he sees you, licks his lips, and you notice a determined certainty in his eyes, that he knows with every fiber of his kitty cat being that you're about to be his main course.

This is not going to happen in the modern world. In beautiful India maybe. But not in the urban environment we find ourselves in today.

But what does happen is that some external event triggers a cascade of memories to flood our mind. We create within our own imagination a world colored and filled with fear. If you begin to realize these thoughts as they arise then you can control them.

Napoleon Hill, the grandfather of the self-help movement and author of the international bestselling book, Think and Grow Rich, said that once a memory is triggered all the associated memories come to the surface, “As if lifting a chain.”

Link by link, memory by memory, flash before our minds eye. These memories can be of the past, or fears that we've created about the future. But the truth in either case is that the past no longer is. The future is yet to come. All that we have then is this very moment.

Bring yourself back to this moment and see it clearly. It's here waiting for you to love it. To enjoy it. To embrace it. And when you do, you touch the very essence of eternity. The soft fabric of existence...

  • Living on the Edge, "Creating the Life You Deserve!"-Ep 35-Power of Choice

    CHOOSE-Wisdom Key Five

“There are two primary choices in life; to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.” Denis Waitley

From the moment you're born you begin to choose. Life presents you with options. Life brings to your mind variety and contrast. A selection process occurs that helps to shape your life and who you choose to ultimately become.

Choice is a meditative opportunity. A brief moment in time where you can tune in to the inner core of yourself. You're able to be in touch with the still small voice inside. To listen to the longings of your heart. Choice is a sacred blessing where you can get in tune with your essence and understand the magic of each moment.

The time has come to actively participate in the process of your life. To become creators of creation. To begin to use wisely the power and strength that is within you. To consciously bring forth a reality that is in tune with the great symphony of life. To create a world that is beautiful and filled with magic and wonder.

Little by little and bit by bit you create the reality of which you call your life. The world in which you live in is a world of your own creation. Whether you like what you see is once again a matter of choice. But in that matter is the moment where you can wield your will and steer your strength toward creating the world of your dreams.

The New Paradigm of Legacy Living

We have now come to a time in our evolution as a species where we can see clearly the effects our choices have made upon our lives, the lives of others, and the planet as a whole.

There's a tremendous courage that's needed now. A powerful determination to lead by example and guide our lives toward peace and prosperity for all.

This starts with you. This starts in your life. In your mind. In your home. Deep within your heart. A deep realization must take root within you that the solution to all your problems and even the world's problems won't come from something outside of us. The answers are within us. We are the solution.

A conscious commitment is needed. Not to the world, or some great concept of life, but to yourself. That is the duty required. To make a secret and sacred promise to yourself to unfold your greatness. To awaken your humanity and to express your love. To seek out the countless opportunities you have to lead by example and become a beacon of light for the rest of the world to follow.

Develop an awareness of life. Seeing and sensing the magic of it. Feeling the tremendous power that's within your grasp. Take the time to really think of the world you want to live in. Contemplate the legacy that you want to leave for the generations to come.

We must begin to create the paradigm of Legacy Living.

Choice is an amazing gift. For in this moment you bring forth tomorrow’s new dawn. The sacred gift of life is given to you upon your waking. Cherish it’s presence. Be focused upon the fragility of it all. Worship the wonder of life. For heaven can be a place on earth if we so choose it to be.

“You are free to choose, but the choices you make today will determine what you will have, be, and do in the tomorrow of your life.”

  • Living on the Edge, "Creating the Life You Deserve!"-Ep 34-Forgiveness

“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”

    Mahatma Gandhi

    The Sharp Edge of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is a double sided sword. It pierces both hearts so that the sacred source of life may become free once more. In that magical moment when forgiveness happens, the essence of our lives are mingled in a moment of honesty.

We become bare to the nakedness of each other and begin to see clearly into the truth of life; that we all are truly one. And deep within the healing halls of forgiveness, we find the certainty and strength to try a little harder. To go a little farther. To be gentler with ourselves. Realizing that the mistakes we’ve made are in the past which is a distant place on the shores of no more.

Forgiveness sets us free. It releases us from the bonds of self- slavery. It frees the love that wants to flow within our lives.

    Three Little Words

I forgive you. Please forgive me. Who could imagine that three little words could have such tremendous power. That these words, backed with a deep heartfelt sincerity, could bring the strongest of men to their knees. That these simple words can set free a person that has long been a slave to their own suffering.

    Forgiveness is awareness.

Awareness that we all still have tremendous room to grow. To learn. To love. To experience life to its fullest.

We're all trying our best. So in those moments where we forgive and when we are forgiven we are reminded that we're still living. That we're all in this together. That there are moments where you're reminded of the adventure of life and the courage it takes to live it fully.

  • Embracing Change in a work from home environment-Archived Podcast-Episode 5

    Everything Must be Balanced

There's no such thing as work-life balance. There are work-life choices, and you make them, and they have consequences.

    Jack Welch

You must have the aptitude and the disposition to start or transition into a home based business environment. Its not enough to have the basic knowledge of your desired industry but you must have the self discipline and consistency that is required to maintain a home based environment. Its not for everybody. Not everyone can handle the isolation that working from home brings. Not everyone has the self discipline that it requires when you have to go it alone. If you are someone who constantly needs affirmation and direction, then having a home based environment might take some getting used to. If you are one who readily accepts change and are willing to “bend a little”, then you are a perfect fit. It may take some time but you will adapt well to a changing environment.

    Balance

Finding balance in a work from home environment may be more challenging than the work itself. You have to find balance when it comes to any changing environment. If you are now at home and you have a small space that you can use as your office then that will be suitable for what you need. You really don’t need a huge space, unless you have a personal desire to wide open spaces, a small area will work just fine.

Finding balance may be as simple as having space for work, space for your entertainment, and a little space for everything else. If you are living in a 1200 square foot home then you have sections you can use so that each room is adequate for what your needs are. You don’t necessarily need a huge mansion to perform your work like you think you might need. Having boundaries in your work and personal life will determine how well you succeed at a home environment. You want to be able to perform at your best so you can deliver the best results possible.

Finding balance if you are doing a side hustle can be a bit more difficult because you now have to balance the boss environment with your own personal development. You have to answer to yourself and to your superiors as well. Creating boundaries for these work types while managing to have time for yourself takes time. Its an adjustment when you have several parts of yourself and you want to be able to express each one in the best situation possible.

Another benefit to working from home is that you are not tied to the typical 9 to 5 which all depends on factors like what time zones is your team located in , what is your industry, and other uncontrollable factors. A 9 to 5 EST is different in a global environment. You have to be able to adapt to these factors because they are contingent upon the success of you business. I knew that I wanted to start an online business and become an Internet Entrepreneur. Their was NO if, ands, or buts.

My passion for independence, freedom, and learning was what brought me to the Internet in the first place. I saw so much potential and then some. I wanted to be able to live out loud and have a profitable thriving business while making an impact on the world. I have been able to do so and working from home for me is a God send. I am grateful to be able to do what I love and make a sizable income from it. What more could you ask for! If you choose to make a living from your passion on the Internet look at the pros and cons and if the pros outweigh the cons then proceed ahead with confidence!

As long as you are able to commit to deadlines and working with teams globally, you are not going to have much of a problem. You will be able to adapt to a changing environment like the Internet and working from home. Adjustments like anything else comes with the package. You have to commit yourself to educating yourself on what is going on in the world around you. The Internet is a great way to stay informed and build a brand that can make you income for years to come. You have to be bold and have a strong desire to see yourself succeed and let no one stand in the way of your success!

    Enjoy!

  • Embracing Change in a work from home environment-Archived Episode-Part 4

    Supplying products via the Internet

As we produce work that becomes pure poetry, we impact and influence our teammates, we wow our suppliers, we inspire customers and strangers. And we lead our industry.

    Robin S. Sharma

Data or digital products are the Internet-age term which implies to the publication of data-rich material on the web. This material may take any form, but broadly when we speak about data products we're talking about eBooks, e-zines, videos, audio-books and the like.  Generally, this is material that people may download and store on their hard disk drive and withdraw it afterwards according to their convenience.

    Using Data

There are two ways in which you're able to  get into the digital merchandise business:

You might produce the data content yourself or outsource it to someone so that you have your own merchandise to distribute. You might promote another person’s merchandise on your site or blog. Either way, you're producing and selling informative material that interested customers would buy. You can create what is called an “informational product” out of your learned knowledge and sign up with a digital provider to sell downloads like, Ejunkie.com, Getdpd.com, or Payhip.com. Some of these online providers are free (they get a percentage of your sales) or paid on a monthly or yearly subscription.

One great way to sell and market your products is through affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is a way to have other people sell your products for a percentage of commission sales. You can get them to promote your product through social media, their blog or website, or through video or podcasting. In cases like these you may not need have to own your own website or blog because the affiliates would have the platform and outlets necessary to market and promote your products. This is a great way to start an online venture especially if you have limited funds. Its also a great way to start if you rally don’t want to get bogged down with having to maintain a website or blog.

If you sell your own merchandise there are a lot more advantages. Number one, people associate you with somebody who's an authority on the subject matter. You become believable and you build a long lasting reputation in the process. This will ensure that your additional products get a niche for themselves too. Owning and producing your own products does not mean that you have to create them all yourself. You can outsource your creative work and pay an additional cost to get them produced. Get the most you can out of producing your very own informational products. Create value and offer value to your customers and build yourself a well liked reputation in the process. Having an online presence can whether you start or already have one might be the next option to take your brand and your business to the next level.

    The value of your education

Never undervalue your knowledge and expertise. Your knowledge that you’ve obtained overtime is as invaluable as the day you learned it. Never take for granted the time spent and the investment made in educating yourself and creating a livelihood for your business. Time now has proven that what you’ve learned over time was not wasted its now priceless gold!

Another way to use digital to your advantage is by selling and promoting it on a membership platform where customers for a monthly fee download each month your premium products. This type of business model is not easy to start but the residual income earned from this endeavor can pay off more than your bills. For example, if you were to have 5000 monthly subscribers at a fee of $5,99 per month you will have by the end of each month if they don’t cancel, $29,950 and $359,400 per year respectively. That sounds nice huh? With this model you can sell videos, pdfs or eBooks, and audio files.

You can also decide to become a reseller of goods. By a reseller I mean the selling of goods that are not your own. You are selling branded and non branded merchandise from a source and reselling those products for a profit to you. You are purchasing the product at wholesale and in turn selling that product for a profit that is suitable for the market and for you.  For example, I resell goods from a global publisher and I mark up the products that I want to sell and for a profit I mark up the percentage that suits me and the market I am targeting. I decide to sell based on what I am passionate for and not necessarily what the market demands. You have to decide for yourself do you want to sell on profit or solely on passion or both.

Here a few more choices that you can choose from:

Naturally, it's understood that the sort of services that have a demand on the internet are services that you are able to supply online. These are by and large services related to site building and promoting. The following services are much desired:-

    Material creation

    Blog management

    SEO

    Site creation

    Social networking services

    Virtual Assistants

    Proofreading  and editing

    Marketplace selling

The drawback here is that you must spend time. You have to be at your desktop most of the time as you interact with others. This all depends on the industry your in so all rules don’t necessarily apply. Take a look at your smart phone. That tool is one of your greatest assets when it comes to an Internet business. You can engage with clients globally via text or email and get business done any time of day. No restrictions.

Networking or community engagement is another way to establish a network of people and jointly market your merchandise or service. With a network or group you can gain the attention of many like minded individuals who are very interested in what you have to offer.

    Enjoy!

    A few starter hints

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop”

    Confucius

If you a tired of your “normal” 9 to 5 then you really want to listen to this episode. Your normal 9 to 5 might be that one thing that’s enabling you from taking the leap to starting your own home based business. If you are dreaming of having your own business and staying up late at night envisioning what your life could be like, then you can achieve this by having a side hustle.

If you have lots of ideas on starting and doing a home based business endeavor then now’s the time to implement those ideas in the form of a side hustle in order to get and keep your feet wet when you are ready for a transition like this. The beauty of having a part time hustle is that you never quit your normal job right away. You are holding on to that job for as long as you need to and then when the time is right, you make the move to your entrepreneurial goals. You can do both if you are able to manage your time well. It is never a good thing to quit before you have established your business because if that falls through not as planned what do you have to fall back on? Be smart about it.

A work from home environment brings so many benefits when it comes to business. You are solopreneuring and you are a microcosm of your team. If you have a team of people that are located globally then you can interact with them through the latest technology. With meetings, you can use Go To Meetings or Zoom, or a host of other tools in a work at home environment. You can use email and social media to get your message across. In this day and age their is absolutely no excuse for not being adept to the Internet. If its your dreams that you are talking about then you will do whatever it tales to get from point a to point z and all that is in between. No excuses!

Another benefit is the benefit of time. Use time to your advantage because you can schedule when and how you work. For example, If you are on the west coast and are dong business internationally, you can schedule your meeting that is both suitable and accessible for both parties involved. If you are not a morning person like I am NOT then you can schedule those meetings when it suits you best. It makes you feel more confident because you are in control of how you spend your time. Also, you have the time to take the time to sit back and do nothing. I take time out of my day to read a book, take a nap, listen to music, watch a movie, or not do anything at all. This lifestyle is a flexible lifestyle that you are not tied down to by a clock or even watching it. You are so into what you are doing and yes, time does fly by because you are having fun and making money!

With a home business, there are no bosses to look over your shoulder and get in your face every once in a while. The only person that will have something to say will be the face of you looking at yourself in the mirror. Being your own boss means that you ought to be able to produce more and bring out high quality work. With the advent and the interaction of the Internet, it is now possible to search for different and many home business ideas online today.  You literally have at your fingertips a plethora of ideas and businesses to choose from so their should be no excuse for not finding something that suites your taste.

The first thing that you ought to ask yourself before beginning your home business is what your area of expertise is. Take a personal assessment of your skills and the things that you enjoy. What are the things you like and dislike? Write these thing down and see for yourself where you stand and then decide what direction you want to go in. If you are mufti talented, then you have a lot more to choose from then the average person who only has one or two OR who has not invested time into learning more to advance his skills.

There are those individuals who are specialists in baking and likewise decorating cakes for special events, this may be an idea for you. There are others who know how to bake assorted types of cakes. They may have recipes for the different sorts of cakes and this could be something that has been passed down from generation to generation. This could be a business endeavor that you could try if this is your area of expertise. As a matter of fact, if you really want to take this type of business to the next level and not just as a hobby, your income earned here can turn out quite nicely!

The point is, whatever you are good at can become a home business!

  • Embracing Change in a work from home environment-Archived Podcast-Episode 2

“With change comes transition and an opportunity for growth”

    Annette Thomas

Wishing will not make it so

    Thomas Monson

In order to build your own success you have to create the correct foundation. It is how you define success and meaningfulness from the moment you decide that you want to create a home at work environment. It means that you will have a set of values and strong held beliefs that you believe in at your core. It comes from a place inside of you and it literally becomes your “moral compass”. That defining core is the center from which you base all your life decisions on. From a big decision like what career you want to pursue to something as small as what dress do I wear. This becomes the “center point” from which you decide what direction you want your life to go in. A compass if you will.

You have to have a clearly a defined vision. You are literally, with precision, defining your life and writing the story, your story, that you wish to see come to life. Success for some means having a lot of money. For others success is defined by the ability to see beyond money and something more meaningful, like making a difference. For me, I wanted to be able to do both while giving myself that personal satisfaction of expressing myself and making a significant difference in the lives of others.

Only you know what is the best approach for you. I will say this, the more that you are centered at “your defining core” the more you will be able to figure out the path you should take. You are the writer of your story. Know one knows what is best for you but you. You have the power to decide what you want and own the life that you have imagined. No one on the planet can and should do this for you. Its on YOU! That is success! Once you have discovered what you truly wish to achieve in your life’s story, just implement these four easy steps in some manner and your dreams will have a better chance of becoming a reality:

Build up your belief system.  Take time to reinforce, in your brain, your desires and hopes for your life. Its a mental discipline of the mind each day in order to “train your brain” on your objectives. If you have never trained your brain, now’s the time to get into the habit of doing so. For example, if you are watching the “not so good news” and you want to focus on something more positive, train your brain to focus on positive thoughts like your personal affirmations, goals, and anything worthwhile you can think of. Once you master this art of discipline you have a resource to pull from each day and with that your confidence builds on a day to day basis.

Set a clear goal. Have a clear path to achieving the goals you want. This includes not only writing down your goals but implementing them that when one is done do the next and so on. Decide which goals are worth pursuing and discard the rest. Have an active “action plan” that is executed on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis. By doing this you are setting the tone and setting yourself up for success. You are building your business, life, and all that you want to see become your reality.

Acquire strategies. The effectiveness of any goal being achieved is that you must have a strategy. You can develop strategies by simply learning what works and what doesn’t. You can experiment and see what works for you or look at the mistakes of others and learn from that. The key to having a strategy and executing it is to be able to acquire knowledge and with that knowledge new skills. Educating yourself in any way possible with books, a guide or mentor, a podcast or an online course are all worthy investments in learning and putting into action new strategies.

A call to action.  I love this verb! Action is the only way and I will repeat, the only way you are going to see your objectives become a reality. In anything that you want to achieve you must take action. You can have a strong belief system and have the best laid plans all written down for the world to see, but if you have no inspired action you are just talking to the wind. Wishing will not make it so.

By following all of the 4 steps mentioned above, you will be able to achieve whatever you wish in your life story. And don't forget that you need to discover what you really wish to achieve in your life’s story before you are able to create it. Find out what is the burning desire that keeps you going and you will finally achieve the great success that you wish!

    Enjoy the show!

  • Embracing Change in a Work from Home Environment-Archived Podcast-Part 1

“With change comes transition and an opportunity for growth”

    Annette Thomas

There’s a difference between having a general interest in a home based business and being able to do one. Before you quit your day job or the line of work you’re in, ask yourself this question: am I truly ready to transition into this type of environment? If this was a forced transition am I able to handle mentally and emotionally, what it takes to do so and do it successfully? Here’s where I can help.

This is what this 5 part podcast series is all about. It is to assist you in transitioning from a traditional office to a home based, telecommute work environment. If you were now or ever forced to face this reality and you really don’t know how to navigate this environment, you really need a guide that has “been there, done that”, and has done so successfully!

My hope from this 5 part podcast is to be able to enlighten you on the many creative and practical ways that a home at work environment can be beneficial now and in your future. The “work at home or telecommute” idea for business is not new. It has been around for many years, but with change weather forced or not comes the opportunity to embrace something new.

Change is the only way we grow and out of this we can look back on this and say , “this was not that bad”. I started my brands out of change. The change was not a forced change but a change in the way I saw my future. I made a decision several years ago to change my future by starting to learn what online marketing and business was all about and with that came education, learned skills, wisdom, and this podcast, The Digital Vibe, you are listening to today. I am proud of that! What you are experiencing now can definitely be beneficial for your future!

The first thing you need to do is to be realistic about setting things up. You just don’t jump into a home office you have to plan and prepare for one. In situation like these, no preparation no advance warning, you have to plan each day the day before what you are going to do and how you are going to achieve the outcome you want.

You have to start to think in a way that is conducive for change. If you have change experiences in you life then use that as a opportunity to draw wisdom from and apply that to working from home. Your personal life experiences are your best friend right now. If you have no experience to draw from, I would not think that you have none, then use this podcast as a training tool for you to begin to learn how to adapt to change in any environment.

For a home business to start and become successful you have to believe that it will. You have to think that what you do now will have a lasting and beneficial impact on your now and your future. Having some level of self assurance at this time is very important when it comes to business and without some level of personal self assurance, you cannot go far. For a home business to become successful you must believe that it will flourish.

    Where to begin

You ought to likewise ask yourself whether the forced change or your ideas to start a business at home would be suitable for self employment. There are times you can feel a little over confident about your ability and feel you are ready for such a transition and at other times you feel scared and uncertain about what a change like this will take as it is a challenge. This is normal. Once you begin to think and affirm that YOU WILL become successful, you will start to feel, act, and implement a strategy for a successful outcome. Be honest with yourself!

Think about the way you “normally” work at your office and ask yourself whether you can complete your work regardless of the situation. You also ought to ask yourself can you work hard in the presence or absence of others. Your boss will no longer be watching over your shoulders and you now have to rely on the approval and self awareness of yourself more so that others at this stage in your life. This is the time for self assessment and honesty with yourself. When you can answer these questions honestly you are ready to move to the next phase of the work at home transition.

The other question you need to ask yourself is whether or not you or your team are familiar with the technology of a work at home environment and the challenges it brings. You have to be willing to become an avid learner of the Internet and how it is used to interact with vast communities worldwide.

You have to be able to acquire or outsource the skills that are needed to handle a business that will be local in nature but with an impact globally. You have to able to see the “big picture” and open your eyes to the many opportunities that the Internet for business brings. We have been in the age of the “Internet of Things” and we have to be able to adapt or die. It is not just interacting and engaging on Facebook or watching videos on YouTube for fun, it is more than that. If your expectation is to become a successful individual in this new environment, then you MUST ! You now have NO choice!

This series is to let you know the pros and cons of a home based business. You ought to be able to look at your living standards and your current lifestyle now that you have a transition to deal with and a change that you were forced to make. Starting or having an already existing home based business in order to make a profit now takes on a whole meaning. It now means that you will have to make changes and adjustments that you have to familiar with.

    Enjoy!

  • Living on the Edge, "Creating the Life You Deserve!"-Embracing Change!

    WISDOM KEY 3

    EMBRACE CHANGE

“Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.”

    Leo Tolstoy

“The world is to big for us.”

“Too much going on, too many crimes, too much violence and excitement. Try as you will, you get behind in the race, in spite of yourself. It's an incessant strain, to keep pace...“And still you lose ground. Science empties is discoveries on you so fast that you stagger beneath them in hopeless bewilderment. The political world is news seen so rapidly you're out of breath trying to keep pace with who's in and who's out. Everything is high pressure. Human nature can't endure much more!”

Do you want to know something interesting about those words quoted above? They appeared in the Atlantic Journal on June 16th 1833. They were written almost one hundred years ago. And we have endured. We have faced the uncertainties of life and managed to continually try to change. Not only ourselves but how we live our lives. Sure we may have stumbled and fallen a couple of times along the way. But those are just growing pains. Scrapes and bruises that will heal with time, care, and attention.

We will always face a certain amount of pressure in our lives. Be it from our families, our friends, society, or where we work. This is just the way it is. We will always be discovering more about our world, each other and ourselves. We can either try to fight this process or we can choose another way of looking at change. One that embraces it.

Change is the tool Life uses

Realize and accept that change is the only constant in the physical universe. Change is the process by which you may discover the creative power of life. Change is the motion of movement under the direction of love. Change inevitably leads to growth and growth leads to fruition, fruition leads to abundance, and abundance is an opportunity to share the essence of yourself with all existence. Change is a tool of life. It pushes you forward to new possibilities. It releases you from the past and places you in the present, renewed and refreshed.

Change is good only if you see it as such.

The end of things gives opportunity to the start of something more. Today's closure is tomorrows new adventure. And when you dream, dare to dream into existence a world that is worth living for. Something that we all can be proud of. For the dreams of tomorrow are created by the sweat of today. The world that is to come will only arrive if you set yourself to the task.

“Both tears and sweat are salty but they render a different result. Tears will get you sympathy, sweat will get you results.” Jesse Jackson

Madonna's Secret for An Amazing Living Life

Whether you love or hate her, you have to admit that Madonna has staying power. She's been in the music industry for over twenty years. In my opinion her success can be attributed to her amazing ability to adapt and change. She’s constantly reinventing herself. Pushing not only her own boundaries but the worlds as well.

With each new transformation she’s blessed with new insights, new experiences and of course new music that she shares with us.

She keeps her life fresh and vibrant.

In turn the universe opens it's arms to her, embracing her as a kindred spirit. A brave being who has struggled against the currents of self-doubt and the vice of fear that can grip our lives. She is rewarded with a life rich with opportunity and abundance.

And how is she able to do this?

By being able to invite and even hunt down the next moment of existence. By embracing change she is continually renewed and rewarded by the energies of existence.

    Change Is Calling You!

You never hear the tree grown with the coming of fall. It's rooted within the rhythm of life. It knows that within its being is the infinite intelligence of life Then with grace and beauty it lets go and lets life run its course.

The friction of change helps you to see clearly the immediate crisis in front of your eyes. For the crisis is your life's silent voice speaking to you in that moment. Telling to you push on. Calling you to the deep power of potential that lays within. Reminding you to grow.

Buck Rogers, the author of Getting the Best Out Of Yourself & Others, gave us these amazing words about change, “We live in a time of paradox, contradiction, opportunity, and above all, change. To the fearful, change is threatening because they worry that things may get worse. To the hopeful, change is encouraging because they feel things may get better. To those who have confidence in themselves, change is a stimulus because they believe one person can make a difference and influence what goes on around them. These people are the doers and the motivators.”

So are you fearful or hopeful?

Why Do We Hate to Change?

We fear change because it represents death, darkness and the unknown. And while we’re moving through it’s cycle we forget that change leads us to birth, light and wisdom. We just can’t see this because we're blinded by the formidable moment of redefining ourselves. Of that grey point that lies between where we’ve been and where we think we’re going. Most of our attempts to change end in failure. And we remember those defeats. Their bitter memories remain with us. Paralyzing our best intentions.

And why do our new years resolutions always seems to go nowhere?

Because we bite off more than we can chew. We take on too much. We're not prepared for the work that needs to be done. True and lasting change happens bit by bit. A little at a time. Change happens through getting clear on what you want, creating a plan to achieve it, entering into new worlds, building new connections, believing in your goals, and being engaged emotionally about where your going. It may seem like a lot now but by the end of this book you’ll be a master at it.

In the coming episodes you'll be given the tools necessary to make change happen in your life. Smoothly. Easily. With purpose and determination.

    Wisdom Key #3 Exercise

Tomorrow I want you to wake up early, I mean really early, at least a half hour before dawn. Set two alarms if you have to so that you can get up. I want you to get up in silence and just sit quietly facing east. Sit there in anticipation, waiting for the moment when the sun begins to rise up over the horizon declaring that today is a new day and a brand new life for you. During the day be aware of the subtle changes that happen to you. Be aware every time you change from one environment to the next. From your house to the car, from the car to the building where you work, from the lobby to the elevator, from the elevator to your desk if you happen to work at a desk.

Be aware of the subtle shifts in your daily routine and bring that morning peace with you all throughout the day. If you become stressed or agitated bring the memory of the morning to your minds eye and breath deeply. Set aside time in the evening, at least a half hour before sunset and sit quietly facing west. Bear witness to the awesome colors of the sky while the sun sets. Put to rest your struggles of the day and just be silent and aware during this beautiful moment.

A brief little opportunity to bear witness to change and to become aware of the sacred within each and every moment of your Life.

  • Living on the Edge, "Creating the Life You Deserve!"-Let Go of the Idea that Gentle, Relaxed People Can’t Be Super Achievers

One of the major reasons so many of us remain hurried, frightened, and competitive, and continue to live life as if it were one giant emergency, is our fear that if we were to become more peaceful and loving, we would suddenly stop achieving our goals* We would become lazy and apathetic.

You can put this fear to rest by realizing that the opposite is actually true. Fearful, frantic thinking takes an enormous amount of energy and drains the creativity and motivation from our lives. When you are fearful or frantic, you literally immobilize yourself from your greatest potential, not to mention enjoyment. Any success that you do have is despite your fear, not because of it.

I have had the good fortune to surround myself with some very relaxed, peaceful, and loving people. Some of these people are best-selling authors, loving parents, counselors, computer experts, and chief executive officers. All of them are fulfilled in what they do and are very proficient at their given skills.

I have learned the important lesson: When you have what you want (inner peace), you are less distracted by your wants, needs, desires, and concerns. It’s thus easier to concentrate, focus, achieve your goals, and to give back to others.
