- All Souls’ Day & Divination: Connecting with the Dead, Tarot & Mediumship | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 18
What connects All Souls’ Day, Día de los Muertos, Catholic traditions, and the practice of divination? 💀🕯️
And why do so many spiritual traditions focus on remembering the dead and exploring the possibility of communication with the other side?
From Catholic holy days and ancestral altars to tarot, mediumship, and psychic experiences, this episode explores the fascinating intersection of faith, remembrance, and the mysteries of the spirit world.
Many people associate this time of year with the belief that the veil between the living and the dead becomes thinner. But how do All Saints’ Day, All Souls’ Day, and Día de los Muertos connect? What do different traditions teach us about honoring those who have passed? And why is divination viewed as spiritual exploration by some and something to avoid by others? 👀
Think about lighting candles for loved ones, creating altars for ancestors, interpreting dreams, reading tarot cards, and seeking messages through spiritual practices. These traditions raise fascinating questions about grief, faith, intuition, and how we understand the unseen world.
But there's so much more to explore. What Catholic symbolism can be found throughout the tarot deck? How do All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day relate to cultural traditions surrounding the dead? Can tarot be used for mediumship? And what should you consider before attempting to communicate with spirits? 🕯️👻
In this episode of Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha & Renée dive into All Souls’ Day, Día de los Muertos, and the many forms of divination people use to seek insight or spiritual connection. We explore the relationship between Catholic traditions and tarot, share personal experiences involving dreams and unexplained encounters, and discuss the importance of intention, discernment, and spiritual protection.
We're looking beyond the familiar traditions to explore how people honor their loved ones, interpret meaningful experiences, and navigate the sometimes complicated relationship between Catholicism and mysticism!
In this episode, we explore:
🔮 Tarot & Catholicism: From the High Priestess and the Empress to the Hierophant, we discuss the religious imagery and biblical connections Tasha recognizes throughout the tarot deck—and why tarot is often viewed so differently within Christian communities.
⛪ All Souls’ Day: What do these Catholic observances mean, and how do they relate to the traditions of remembering and praying for the dead?
💀 Día de los Muertos & Ancestral Altars: We explore traditions involving family altars, candles, photographs, and offerings, along with the cultural practices associated with honoring deceased loved ones.
🕯️ The Thin Veil & the Spirit World: Why do some people believe this season offers a stronger connection to the dead? We share perspectives and personal experiences involving spirits and unexplained encounters.
🌙 Psychic Experiences, Dreams & Intuition: From vivid dreams to unexpected impressions and encounters, we discuss experiences that can leave us questioning coincidence, intuition, and the possibility of something more.
🃏 Tarot & Mediumship: Can tarot cards be used to connect with a loved one who has passed? We discuss how some practitioners approach tarot as a tool for spiritual communication.
🔮 Different Forms of Divination: Tarot isn't the only method people use to seek insight. We explore scrying, runes, bone casting, tea-leaf reading, coffee-ground reading, pendulums, and other practices.
📖 Bible Roulette & Divination: If someone opens a Bible to a random passage looking for a sign, is that a form of divination? We unpack this thought-provoking comparison and discuss why similar practices can be viewed differently depending on the tradition.
👻 Ghosts, Spirits & Paranormal Encounters: We share personal stories and discuss beliefs about spirit activity, including why some people approach unexplained experiences with curiosity while others feel caution.
🛡️ Spiritual Protection & Discernment: When exploring mediumship or divination, why do intention, preparation, boundaries, and knowing your own comfort level matter? We discuss the importance of approaching these practices thoughtfully.
❤️ Grief, Memory & Connecting With Loved Ones: We reflect on the emotional side of remembering those we've lost and the ways traditions, memories, and spiritual beliefs can help people feel connected to them.
But here's the question: Where do we draw the line between faith, divination, and spiritual communication?
Why are some forms of seeking guidance accepted in certain religious settings while others are considered controversial? Can Catholic symbolism and tarot coexist in unexpected ways? And when people experience dreams, signs, or encounters that feel meaningful, how do they make sense of them?
From All Souls’ Day and Día de los Muertos to tarot, mediumship, and the many methods of divination, we're exploring the fascinating connections between Catholicism and mysticism. Whether you're interested in religious traditions, tarot, psychic experiences, or the paranormal, this episode invites you to consider different perspectives and ask deeper questions about the unseen. ✨

1h 15m - Nov 2, 2026 - Halloween & Samhain: How Pagan + Catholic Traditions Became One | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 17
What exactly are the origins of Halloween? 🎃🕯️ And how did ancient seasonal celebrations, Catholic holy days, and centuries of folklore become intertwined in the holiday we know today?
From Samhain and ancient Celtic beliefs to All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day, and All Souls’ Day, Halloween has a fascinating history shaped by different cultures, religious traditions, and beliefs about the spirit world.
While Halloween is often described as simply a pagan holiday, its history is much more complex. So how did these different traditions come together, and which customs actually influenced the Halloween celebrations we recognize today? 👀
Think about costumes, bonfires, spirits of the dead, protective customs, and the belief that the boundary between the living and the dead can become thinner at certain times of the year. Many of these ideas have roots in different cultural and religious traditions. From Celtic seasonal festivals and medieval Christian observances to European folk customs, the connections are fascinating!
But there's so much more to explore. What was Samhain, and how did it become associated with Halloween? How did the Christian observances of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day shape the season? 1h 15m - Oct 29, 2026 - The Magic of Spells: Exploring Catholic and Pagan Magic | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 16
What exactly makes a spell a spell? 🕯️✨ And could some of the traditions we associate with witchcraft have more in common with religious prayer than we think?
From simmer pots and candle magic to protection spells and cord-cutting rituals, spell work has a long history across spiritual paths and cultural traditions. While many people associate spells exclusively with witchcraft, Wicca, or paganism, folk magic can also be found woven into Catholic traditions, cultural superstitions, and everyday spiritual practices. So where do we draw the line between faith, folklore, prayer, and magic? 👀
Think about lighting a candle while making a prayer, carrying a charm for protection, using herbs with a specific intention, or asking a saint for help. Are these simply expressions of faith and tradition, or could they share something deeper with the practices of modern witchcraft? From Italian folk traditions and the evil eye to herbs, intention-setting, and spell work, the connections are fascinating!
But there's so much more to explore. Why are protection spells such an important part of magical practice? What exactly is a grimoire, and what kinds of knowledge are kept inside one? And how can something as simple as rosemary, a simmer pot, or a candle become part of a meaningful spiritual ritual? 🌿🕯️
In this episode of Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha & Renée dive into the world of spells, exploring the traditions, beliefs, and intentions behind magical practices. Renée shares her experiences with protection spells, candle work, and cord-cutting, while Tasha explores the fascinating connections between Catholic folk magic, Italian folklore, and pagan traditions.
We're looking beyond the stereotypes to explore how different spiritual paths approach magic, protection, intention, and the unseen world—and discovering that the line between prayer and spell work may be more complicated than we think!
In this episode, we explore:
🕯️ What Is a Spell, Really? We discuss what spell work means, how intention plays a role in magical practices, and why spells are often misunderstood or viewed as taboo.
🙏 Catholicism & Folk Magic: How do Catholic traditions intersect with folk magic? We explore the cultural practices, prayers, and beliefs that show how spirituality and magic can overlap in unexpected ways.
🌿 Simmer Pots, Herbs & Intention: From rosemary and other herbs to simmer pots, we talk about how everyday ingredients can become part of spiritual rituals and intentional practices.
✨ Candle Magic & Prayer: What happens when we light a candle with a specific intention? We discuss the similarities between candle work, prayer, and connecting with a higher power.
🛡️ Protection Spells & Spiritual Cleansing: Renée shares why protection work is such an important part of her practice, including rituals intended to clear unwanted energy and create a sense of spiritual protection.
📖 What Is a Grimoire? We explore the magical journal known as a grimoire, where practitioners record spells, rituals, herbs, oils, candle colors, prayers, and personal spiritual knowledge.
✂️ Cord-Cutting Rituals: What is a cord-cutting, and why do people use this practice to help release lingering emotional or energetic connections? Renée shares her experience with this ritual.
🧿 The Evil Eye & Italian Folk Traditions: Tasha dives into Italian folklore and the belief in malocchio, or the evil eye. We discuss jealousy, protection, and the traditional symbols associated with warding off negative influences.
🌶️ Saints, Symbols & Spiritual Protection: We explore the ways cultural and religious traditions use symbols, objects, and rituals to seek protection, guidance, and blessings.
🔮 Catholic Folk Magic Meets Paganism: From culturally rooted traditions to modern spell work, we look at the surprising similarities and important differences between Catholic folk practices and pagan spirituality.
🌙 The Power of Intention: Is spell work really so different from prayer? We discuss how intention, focus, ritual, and personal belief shape spiritual practices across different traditions.
But here's the question: Where does prayer end and spell work begin?
Can a candle lit with a prayer carry the same intention as one used in a spell? Why have herbs, charms, saints, and protective rituals appeared in so many different spiritual and cultural traditions? And when we look beyond the labels of Catholic, pagan, or witchy, what can these practices teach us about the ways people seek protection, guidance, and connection with something greater than themselves?
From protection spells and cord-cutting to Catholic folk magic and the mysteries of the evil eye, we're exploring the fascinating world of spells and the traditions that surround them. Whether you're drawn to witchcraft, curious about religious folklore, or simply fascinated by the spiritual practices people have passed down through generations, this episode invites you to look at magic from a different perspective. ✨
So, light your favorite candle, brew something cozy, and settle in with us as we explore spells, saints, simmer pots, and the fascinating connections between faith and magic. 🕯️🌿 It's time to question what we think we know about spell work and discover the traditions, intentions, and beliefs that make these practices so intriguing!

1h 17m - Oct 17, 2026 - Witch Trials Part 2: America’s Witch Hunts, Salem & the Accused | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 14
The witch trials are crossing the Atlantic.
In Part 2 of our series on witches, we’re leaving Europe and heading into Colonial America, where fear, religion, superstition, community tensions, and accusations of witchcraft would eventually erupt into one of the most infamous episodes in American history: the Salem Witch Trials. 🔮
But Salem wasn’t just about witches.
It was about fear, power, religion, paranoia, community, gender, social pressure, and what can happen when people become convinced that evil is everywhere.
In this episode, we dive into the world of Puritan New England and explore how the beliefs surrounding witchcraft in Europe traveled across the Atlantic and took on a new life in Colonial America.
We talk about the differences between Salem Town and Salem Village, the harsh conditions faced by the people living there, religious tensions, conflict within the community, and the atmosphere of fear that surrounded the Salem accusations.
We also revisit Goody Glover, the Catholic Irish woman executed in Boston in 1688, whose case occurred just a few years before Salem and provides an important look at how accusations of witchcraft were already playing out in New England.
And then we get into some of the most disturbing stories from Salem itself.
We talk about Sarah Good, Dorothy Good, Mercy Good, Bridget Bishop, Abigail Williams, Betty Parris, Ann Putnam Jr., and the hundreds of people accused of witchcraft during the Salem crisis.
We explore what happened when children began making accusations, how those accusations spread, and how quickly fear could turn suspicion into imprisonment and execution.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, we also look at the spiritual questions surrounding the story: demonic possession, folk magic, Catholic and Protestant approaches to the supernatural, spiritual discernment, and the question of where belief ends and fear begins.
🔮 In this episode, we explore:
• The Witch Trials in Colonial America
• The Salem Witch Trials of 1692–1693
• Salem Town vs. Salem Village
• Puritan beliefs and fear of the Devil
• Religion, fear, and social pressure
• The harsh conditions of Colonial New England
• Native American conflicts and the fear surrounding them
• Goody Glover and the Boston witchcraft case of 1688
• Catholicism, Protestantism, and beliefs about demonic possession
• Folk magic and poppets
• Heinrich Kramer and the Malleus Maleficarum
• Betty Parris, Abigail Williams & Ann Putnam Jr.
• Sarah Good and her daughter Dorothy Good
• Four-year-old Dorothy Good and the Salem accusations
• Mercy Good and the deaths that occurred in prison
• Women, widows, marriage, and accusations of witchcraft
• Why certain people became targets
• Community paranoia and the spread of accusations
• Spectral evidence and accusations based on dreams and visions
• How the Salem trials finally came to an end
• What happened to some of the young accusers afterward
• The lasting legacy and mythology of Salem
And, as always, we’re asking the bigger questions:
Were the people accused of witchcraft actually practicing magic?
Why did accusations spread so quickly through Salem?
Why were women so heavily represented among those accused?
What happens when religious fear becomes collective paranoia?
And how much of what we now associate with “witchcraft” actually existed in Colonial America?
So grab your coffee (or wine), your crystals, your Catholic rosary, your tarot deck...or whatever makes you feel spiritually protected...and let’s talk about Salem. 🔮

1h 12m - Oct 9, 2026 - Witch Trials Part 1: Europe’s Witch Trials — Catholics, Women & Even Saints Killed | Divine Mysticism Podcast Episode 13
Happy October! 🎃 And of course… what better way to kick off spooky season than talking about witches?
And because apparently we like to be a little too on-the-nose… our 13th episode HAD to be about witches. 🔮
Welcome to Part 1 of our two-part series on witches, where we’re going down the rabbit hole into the European witch trials and the complicated history connecting Catholicism, Pagan traditions, mysticism, magic, and the people accused of witchcraft.
But this isn’t just a story about “witches.”
It’s a story about fear, religion, spirituality, power, persecution, and the people who found themselves caught in the middle.
In this episode, we explore how beliefs about witchcraft developed across medieval and early modern Europe, why certain people became targets, and how Catholicism and Christian beliefs intersected with—and sometimes came into conflict with...older Pagan and folk traditions.
We talk about Catholic mystics, healers, midwives, herbalists, accused witches, and people who were ultimately imprisoned, tortured, or executed. We also dive into some of the fascinating...and sometimes disturbing...stories of individuals caught up in accusations of witchcraft.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, we also explore the spiritual side of the story: the idea of the “witch wound,” past-life connections, mystical experiences, magic, prayer, manifestation, crystals, candles, intention, and why some people feel a deep connection to the history of witchcraft.
🔮 In this episode, we explore:
• The European Witch Trials
• Catholicism and accusations of witchcraft
• Pagan traditions and Christian beliefs
• Catholic mysticism and spiritual experiences
• St. Teresa of Avila and The Interior Castle
• The “witch wound” and healer wound
• Joan of Arc and her visions
• Alice Kyteler and Petronilla de Meath
• Heinrich Kramer and the Malleus Maleficarum
• King James and European witch hunts
• Urbain Grandier and the Ursuline possessions
• Midwives, healers, herbalists, and accusations of witchcraft
• Magic, prayer, manifestation, and intention
• Poppets, candles, crystals, and folk magic
• Why fear and instability helped fuel witch-hunting
• The Black Death, religious conflict, poverty, famine, and social fear
• How European beliefs about witchcraft eventually traveled to the Americas
And, as always, we’re asking the bigger questions:
Were the people accused of witchcraft actually practicing magic?
How much of what we now call “witchcraft” came from Pagan traditions, folk practices, or simply misunderstood spiritual practices?
Why were so many women...and some men...targeted?
And what happens when spirituality, religion, fear, and power collide?
This is only Part 1.
Next, we’ll take the story across the Atlantic and into Colonial America, where the beliefs and fears surrounding witchcraft took on a whole new life.
So grab your coffee(or wine), your crystals, your Catholic rosary, your tarot deck...or whatever makes you feel spiritually protected...and let’s talk about witches. 🔮

1h 13m - Oct 1, 2026 - Mabon: Fall Equinox + Pagan & Catholic Traditions | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 12
What does Mabon, the Fall Equinox, Pagan traditions, Catholicism, harvest rituals, and the changing seasons have in common?
More than you might think.
In Episode 12 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (Mystic) go down a fascinating rabbit hole into Mabon, the Fall Equinox, ancient harvest traditions, and the surprising ways seasonal rituals and Catholic traditions can overlap.
What starts with the changing of the seasons quickly turns into a much bigger conversation about harvest, balance, gratitude, ritual, sacred traditions, spirituality, and what happens when ancient seasonal practices meet Christianity.
Tasha and Renée explore Mabon and the history behind the modern Pagan celebration of the Fall Equinox, including the symbolism of harvest, balance, darkness and light, and the transition into the darker half of the year.
And then things get even more interesting.
The conversation takes us into the world of Catholic Ember Days, seasonal prayer, fasting, harvest traditions, and the Catholic practice of marking the changing seasons through the liturgical calendar.
But is there actually a connection between these traditions?
Or are different cultures simply responding to the same natural cycle in their own spiritual language?
From Mabon and the Fall Equinox, to Pagan harvest celebrations, Catholic Ember Days, sacred rituals, Stonehenge, ancient seasonal traditions, and even the mysteries surrounding sacred geometry, Tasha and Renée follow the rabbit hole wherever it leads.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, we're obviously going to ask the bigger question:
When two spiritual traditions have similar rituals and symbols, does that mean one tradition borrowed from the other—or can different traditions arrive at similar spiritual practices independently?
In this episode:
• What exactly is Mabon?
• The history and modern Pagan meaning of Mabon
• Why Mabon is associated with the Fall Equinox
• The symbolism of the equinox and the balance between light and darkness
• Pagan harvest traditions and seasonal rituals
• The connection between harvest, gratitude and spirituality
• The darker half of the year and why autumn has such powerful spiritual symbolism
• The story of Mabon ap Modron and how it became associated with the modern Mabon celebration
• Mabon, Persephone and the mythology of descent and return
• The difference between ancient Celtic mythology and modern Pagan interpretations
• Catholic Ember Days and their connection to the changing seasons
• Why the Catholic Church traditionally included seasonal prayer, fasting and thanksgiving
• How Catholic and Pagan traditions can sometimes look surprisingly similar
• Rituals, offerings, prayer and the meaning we give to sacred actions
• The relationship between Pagan harvest traditions and Catholic practices
• The Fall Equinox and the symbolism of balance
• The difference between historical evidence and modern spiritual interpretations
• Why seasonal transitions can feel spiritually significant even across completely different belief systems
At the heart of this episode is a bigger question:
Why do so many different spiritual traditions use the changing seasons to understand life, death, balance, gratitude and transformation?
Is Mabon fundamentally different from Catholic harvest traditions?
Can Pagan seasonal practices and Catholic rituals exist alongside each other?
Did Christianity replace older seasonal traditions—or did different cultures simply develop their own ways of making the natural world sacred?
And why does the Fall Equinox seem to inspire so many traditions centered around balance, harvest, gratitude, darkness and spiritual reflection?
Because sometimes the most fascinating part of spirituality isn't finding the answer—it's following the rabbit hole far enough to ask better questions.

55m - Sep 21, 2026 - Marie Laveau: Voodoo + Catholicism & Blended Traditions | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 11
What does Marie Laveau, Voodoo, Catholicism, New Orleans, spiritual traditions, and supposedly possessed objects have in common?
More than you might think.
In Episode 11 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (Mystic) go down a very unexpected rabbit hole into the life and legacy of Marie Laveau, the legendary Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, and the fascinating ways Voodoo and Catholic traditions became intertwined throughout history.
What starts with Marie Laveau quickly turns into a much bigger conversation about faith, culture, ritual, magic, Catholic saints, spiritual protection, and what happens when different belief systems collide—and ultimately blend together.
Tasha explores Marie Laveau's surprising Catholic connections, from her Catholic baptism and marriage to her connection to St. Louis Cathedral, while Renée explains the historical and spiritual relationship between Voodoo and Catholicism.
And then things get even more interesting.
From Mother Mary and St. Peter appearing alongside Voodoo traditions, to Papa Legba and the crossroads, Marie Laveau's altar, offerings left at her home, and the difference between Voodoo and Hoodoo, this episode explores a side of New Orleans spirituality that is far more complicated than the stereotypes surrounding it.
But we're not stopping there.
The conversation takes a much darker turn when Tasha and Renée dive into Robert the Doll, the infamous Dybbuk box, paranormal investigations, spiritual attachments, and stories of objects believed to carry dangerous energy.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, we're obviously going to ask the bigger question:
Where does faith end and magic begin?
And if Catholicism itself contains rituals, relics, sacred objects, saints, candles, holy water and sacred oils…how different is ritual in another spiritual tradition?
In this episode:
• Who was Marie Laveau, the legendary Voodoo Queen of New Orleans?
• Marie Laveau's life, family, culture and connection to New Orleans
• Her Catholic baptism, marriage and burial
• The surprising Catholic connections surrounding Marie Laveau
• Why Voodoo and Catholicism became intertwined
• The difference between Voodoo and Hoodoo
• Why Catholic saints became incorporated into Voodoo traditions
• Papa Legba and St. Peter and their connection to the crossroads
• Marie Laveau's altar and her connection to Catholic imagery
• Why Marie Laveau became such an important figure in her community
• Her work as a hairdresser and how it gave her access to New Orleans' elite society
• The secrets people supposedly shared with their hairdresser—and why that made Marie Laveau so influential 😂
• Offerings left at Marie Laveau's home & Why people leave hair clips, pins and other objects as offerings
• The French, Spanish, Creole and African influences woven into New Orleans culture
• Marie Laveau's connection to St. Anne Street
• The strange stories surrounding St. Louis Cathedral
• The legend of the priest supposedly seen inside the cathedral
• Robert the Doll and the stories surrounding his reputation
• The infamous Dybbuk box
• Stories of paranormal investigators encountering spiritually charged objects
• The Cecil Hotel and the paranormal investigations surrounding it
• The idea that different cultures developed spiritual practices as a way to protect themselves and their communities
At the heart of this episode is a bigger question:
What happens when two spiritual traditions that seem completely different actually have more in common than we realize?
Can Catholic saints exist alongside Voodoo traditions?
Can a sacred object be a source of protection—or something more?
Is ritual automatically “magic”?
And why are we so quick to call another culture's spiritual practices dark, dangerous or evil when our own traditions contain rituals that might look just as mysterious to an outsider?
Tasha and Renée don't necessarily agree on everything.
And that's exactly why this conversation is so interesting.
Because sometimes the most fascinating part of spirituality isn't finding the answer—it's following the rabbit hole far enough to ask better questions.
We're just two friends going down the rabbit hole.

1h 11m - Sep 10, 2026 - Pumpkin Spice: Magic + Biblical Meanings? | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 10
What does pumpkin spice have to do with Catholicism, ancient rituals, biblical anointing oils, herbal magic, and mysticism?
More than you might think.
In Episode 10 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (Mystic) follow the scent of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger and allspice down a very unexpected rabbit hole.
What starts with pumpkin spice season quickly turns into a fascinating conversation about the spiritual symbolism of herbs and spices, the ancient traditions surrounding them, and the question of whether using plants and natural ingredients in spiritual practices is inherently at odds with Christianity.
Tasha explores the biblical connection to Moses and the sacred anointing oil described in Exodus, while Renée dives into the traditional energetic and magical associations of seasonal herbs—including their connections to fire, planets, abundance, protection, love and intention.
Then things get even more interesting.
From Jonah's mysterious gourd and Cinderella's magical pumpkin to Egyptian mummification, biblical anointing, Jesus' burial, Saint Hildegard of Bingen's “joy cookies,” cinnamon rituals, and the strange reality that too much nutmeg can actually produce psychoactive effects…this episode has a little bit of everything.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, we're obviously going to ask the bigger question:
Where is the line between spiritual symbolism, ritual, magic and faith?
In this episode:
• Why pumpkin spice creates such a strong feeling of warmth, comfort and nostalgia
• The seasonal origins of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger and allspice
• Pumpkin symbolism, fertility, abundance, creativity and harvest traditions
• The mysterious gourd that appears in the Book of Jonah
• Why Tasha immediately connected Jonah's gourd to Cinderella's magical pumpkin
• Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother and possible Christian/Catholic symbolism
• Why blue and white can evoke imagery associated with the Virgin Mary
• The history and symbolism of seasonal herbs and spices
• Cinnamon, fire, warmth, protection, abundance and intention
• The traditional planetary and elemental associations of herbs
• Egyptian mummification and the use of aromatic substances
• The sacred anointing oil described in Exodus and the ingredients God instructed Moses to use
• Catholic holy oils and the role of Sacred Chrism
• Why herbs and natural substances appear throughout biblical and Catholic traditions
• Saint Hildegard of Bingen and her writings on cinnamon, nutmeg and clove
• Hildegard's famous “joy cookies”
• How medieval herbal medicine and spirituality overlapped
• Ginger, clove, nutmeg and allspice—and their traditional uses and symbolism
• The mystical idea that intention gives ritual its meaning
• The difference between using something as a spiritual tool and worshiping it
• The first-of-the-month cinnamon ritual you've probably seen all over TikTok
• Blowing cinnamon through the front door for abundance, prosperity, luck and protection
• Why the beginning of a month can symbolize a new beginning
• Biblical herbs, spices and fragrances connected to Jesus
• The women who went to Jesus' tomb with spices after his death
• Myrrh, frankincense and other aromatic substances in biblical tradition
• Why Tasha's dad may have been onto something about nutmeg 😂
• The surprising psychoactive effects of consuming excessive amounts of nutmeg
• The connection between scent, memory and unexpected spiritual experiences
• And why sometimes you smell something when there seems to be absolutely no reason for it
At the heart of this episode is a bigger question:
If God created the plants, herbs, spices and natural world around us, can they have spiritual symbolism without becoming objects of worship?
Is ritual automatically “magic”?
Is magic automatically incompatible with faith?
And can two people—one Catholic and one mystic—look at the exact same cinnamon stick and see something completely different?
Maybe the answer isn't as black and white as we think.
And as always, we're not claiming to have all the answers.
We're just two friends going down the rabbit hole.

1h 4m - Sep 2, 2026 - Crystals: Pagan Practice & Catholic Tradition from the Bible? | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 9
Are crystals a pagan practice—or have they actually been part of Christian and Catholic tradition for centuries?
In Episode 9 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (mystic) dive into the fascinating and sometimes controversial relationship between crystals, paganism, Christianity and Catholic mysticism.
Why are crystals so often associated with the occult? Can you use a crystal without worshiping it? And if crystals are considered “pagan,” what do we make of the gemstones and sacred stones found throughout the Bible and Catholic tradition?
Tasha and Renée explore the symbolism of crystals and gemstones, the difference between worship and spiritual practice, and the ways different traditions have understood the natural world as a connection between the physical and spiritual.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, they obviously go down a few unexpected rabbit holes.
From haunted houses and mysterious nighttime experiences to Lemurian crystals, Aaron's breastplate, biblical references to precious stones, Saint Hildegard of Bingen, ley lines, sacred sites, birthstones, and one very questionable selenite ashtray...somehow, it all comes back to crystals.
In this episode:
• Why crystals are associated with paganism and witchcraft
• Can Christians use crystals without worshiping them?
• Pagan traditions and the spiritual symbolism of stones
• Catholicism, sacred objects and gemstones
• Crystals, intention, belief and energy
• Why a rosary is considered sacred while crystals can be viewed as occult
• What the Bible actually says about precious stones
• The twelve stones on Aaron's breastplate
• Precious stones in Job, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Revelation
• Saint Hildegard of Bingen and her writings about stones and the natural world
• Lemurian crystals and the idea of crystals as “record keepers”
• Haunted houses, objects and the energy we believe they can carry
• Tasha's husband's mysterious nighttime experiences with seeing “metal spiders”
• Ley lines, sacred sites and mystical traditions
• Diamonds, birthstones and the symbolism of purity
• Why imperfect crystals can still be beautiful
• And the story of a selenite bowl that became an ashtray 😂
At the center of the conversation is one big question:
Are crystals inherently pagan—or can something created by God also hold spiritual meaning without becoming an object of worship?
Maybe the answer isn't as black and white as we think.
And as always, we're not claiming to have all the answers.
We're just two friends going down the rabbit hole.

1h 9m - Aug 24, 2026 - Catholic Altars, Witch Altars & the Sacred Space Between | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 8
What exactly is an altar? Is it simply a place to pray—or can it become a physical connection between the spiritual and physical worlds?
In Episode 8 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (mystic) dive into the meaning, history and symbolism of altars across Catholicism, mysticism and other spiritual traditions.
They talk about Catholic church altars, home altars, sacred objects, prayer, offerings, the four elements, traveling altars, and why creating a physical sacred space can help us connect with something beyond ourselves.
And because this is Divine Mysticism, they obviously get distracted a few times along the way.
From a mysterious spirit named George and a missing bowling ball to the Ark of the Covenant, Indiana Jones, the Egyptian Ankh, the Third Temple, fertility, sacred union and why Tasha apparently has an altar for everything...somehow, it all keeps coming back to the altar.
In this episode:
• What is an altar?
• Why humans have created sacred spaces throughout history
• Catholic altars vs. mystical and pagan altars
• Home altars and creating sacred space
• The four elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water
• What to put on an altar
• Prayer, intention and offerings
• Catholic church altars, the Eucharist and the tabernacle
• Why priests kiss the altar
• Eucharistic Adoration and the monstrance
• Is an altar idolatry?
• The altar as a connection between Heaven and Earth
• Spirit communication and the mysterious story of George
• The Ark of the Covenant and Indiana Jones...because obviously
• The Ankh, sacred union and ancient symbolism
• The Third Temple and a few unexpected theological rabbit holes
• Why ceremony can help ground spirituality into everyday life
At the center of the conversation is one simple idea:
Maybe the altar isn't just a physical place. Maybe it's a reflection of what's happening within us.
And as always, we're not claiming to have all the answers.
We're just two friends going down the rabbit hole.

1h 4m - Aug 19, 2026 - The Assumption of Mary, Gods & Stuff | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 7
What is the difference between Jesus' Ascension and Mary's Assumption? Where do saints, angels, archangels, ascended masters, gods and goddesses fit into the spiritual hierarchy?
In Episode 7 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renée (mystic) fall down another unexpected rabbit hole...starting with the Catholic feast of the Assumption of Mary and ending up exploring the mysterious hierarchy of angels, saints, gods, goddesses, ascended masters, spiritual realms, consciousness, and what might happen to the soul after death.
The conversation also takes some very personal turns as Renée shares her experiences with past lives, spiritual guides, mediumship, and receiving information when she is ready for it, while Tasha explores these ideas through the lens of Catholicism, faith, Scripture, and the Catholic understanding of Heaven.

It's about asking questions.
Because sometimes the biggest spiritual questions aren't the ones we have answers to.
They're the ones we're brave enough to ask.
Whether you're Catholic, Christian, interested in mysticism, fascinated by angels and spiritual beings, curious about reincarnation and past lives, or simply wondering what happens to consciousness after death, this conversation invites you to explore these mysteries with curiosity rather than fear.
And remember... we're not claiming to have all the answers. We're just two friends going down the rabbit hole.

1h 7m - Jul 26, 2026 - Mary Magdalene: Apostle to the Apostles, Lost Gospel & the Divine Feminine | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 4
Was Mary Magdalene simply one of Jesus' closest disciples or was she something more?
Could the Gospel of Philip, the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, and ancient Christian traditions reveal a deeper relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene? And how does the Catholic Church understand one of Christianity's most misunderstood women?
In Episode 4 of Divine Mysticism, Tasha (Catholic) and Renee (mystic) begin a two-part exploration into the life of Mary Magdalene by examining both Catholic teaching and early Christian mystical traditions.
Tasha explores Mary Magdalene through Scripture and Catholic history, discussing why she is honored as the "Apostle to the Apostles," how Pope Gregory's sermon shaped her reputation for over 1,400 years, and how Vatican II & Pope Francis restored her importance within the Church. She also examines the questions that continue to fascinate historians and believers alike: Was Mary Magdalene more than a disciple? Could the Wedding at Cana have been Jesus and Mary Magdalene's wedding? Why did Jesus' relationship with Mary appear to challenge Jewish customs surrounding men, women, and rabbis?
Renee then explores the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, tracing the origins of these ancient writings, how they were discovered, and why they were never included in the biblical canon. Together they discuss the famous passage describing Jesus kissing Mary Magdalene, Peter's challenge to Mary's authority after the Resurrection, the symbolism of the seven demons, and how early Christian mysticism presents Mary Magdalene as a powerful spiritual teacher whose influence continues to inspire millions today.
Rather than offering definitive answers, this episode invites listeners to thoughtfully explore both Catholic tradition and early Christian mystical perspectives surrounding one of the greatest mysteries in Christian history.
In this episode:
• Mary Magdalene in Catholic tradition
• Why she is called the "Apostle to the Apostles"
• Pope Gregory and the 1,400-year misunderstanding of Mary Magdalene
• Pope Francis' restoration of her feast day
• Was Mary Magdalene more than a disciple?

• The origins of the Gospel of Mary Magdalene
• Why the Gospel of Mary wasn't included in the Bible
• Peter's challenge to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection

56m - Jul 19, 2026 - St. Anne's Infertility Miracle That Brought a Catholic & a Mystic Together | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 3
Can St. Anne still intercede for those struggling with infertility today? Could a miracle baby, a Marian apparition, and one unexpected Reiki session be the very things that brought a Catholic and a mystic together?
In Episode 3, Tasha (Catholic) and Renee (mystic) share the extraordinary true story of how St. Anne—the grandmother of Jesus and patron saint of infertility—quietly connected their lives through a five-year infertility journey, a miracle baby, divine signs, and a spiritual encounter that neither of them understood until later.
As Tasha uncovers the Catholic history of St. Anne and shares her family's deeply personal miracle, she reflects on her sister's journey from catechumen to baptism—a path of growing faith, devotion to God, and surrender during years of infertility and IVF. Renee reveals how an unexpected Reiki session led to her first spiritual encounter with a saint outside of her patron saint, St. Teresa. Together, they explore how years of seemingly unrelated events—including a Marian apparition during childbirth, angelic encounters, remarkable synchronicities, and unwavering devotion to God—ultimately revealed St. Anne's quiet intercession and God's divine timing.

1h 4m - Jul 12, 2026 - Spiritual Gifts Explained by a Catholic & a Mystic | Divine Mysticism Podcast Ep. 2
Can someone be deeply Catholic and still believe in spiritual gifts? Are psychic abilities, intuition, healing, mediumship, and speaking in tongues actually discussed in the Bible?
In Episode 2 of the Divine Mysticism Podcast, Tasha (Catholic) and Renee (mystic) explore one of Christianity's most debated topics: spiritual gifts.
Through honest conversation and personal experiences, they discuss faith, Scripture, mysticism, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit while demonstrating that meaningful dialogue is possible—even when beliefs don't completely align.

• What the Bible says about spiritual gifts
• 1 Corinthians, Romans, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit
• Catholic teachings on spiritual gifts
• Christian mysticism and organized religion
• Psychic gifts, intuition, and mediumship

• Speaking in tongues and prophecy
• Personal stories of visions and spiritual experiences
• Communication with loved ones after death
• Mary Magdalene, Peter, and the early Church
• Finding common ground between faith and mysticism
