  • It's Not About The Clothes: The Heart Behind 1 Timothy 2:9

In this episode, we’re talking about modesty in the church — and not from a legalistic perspective, but through the full context of 1 Timothy 2. Paul’s words to Timothy weren’t about controlling women or banning beauty; they were about protecting the focus of the church from distraction, status, and pride.

We’ll unpack the culture of Ephesus, the real meaning behind “modest apparel,” and why Paul also corrected the men before addressing the women. This conversation challenges the way modesty has been weaponized and brings us back to the heart of the message: modesty isn’t about making women small — it’s about making Jesus central.

  • Genesis 12:1 | This Is Why You Feel Unqualified Right Now

In this episode, we’re diving into Genesis 12:1 and the story of Abram—before he became Abraham in Genesis 17. There’s a whole journey in between, and it wasn’t perfect. Abram made mistakes, had moments of doubt, and wasn’t yet the man God would ultimately shape him into.

    And that’s the point.

So many of us come to Christ feeling like we need to have it all together, but just like Abram, we’re in process. God doesn’t wait for the finished version of us—He works with us right where we are.

We’ll talk about the in-between chapters, Abram’s growth, and why you shouldn’t compare your chapter 12 or 13 to someone else’s chapter 17. This is a real, practical Bible study on faith, growth, and trusting God’s timing.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re not “there” yet, this episode is for you.

In this weeks episode of the podcast, we dive deep into the powerful truth found in 2 Peter 3:9 — that God is patient and full of mercy. His delay is not denial, but an invitation. You still have time.

Sonya discusses what true repentance really means — not just feeling sorry or making surface-level changes, but a complete transformation of the heartmind, and behavior. Repentance is turning away from sin and fully turning toward God, aligning with His will and embracing His grace.

  • It’s Okay Not To Be Okay

In this week’s episode, Sonya dives into a powerful moment from the life of the prophet Elijah. After an incredible victory on Mount Carmel, Elijah finds himself running for his life, filled with fear, doubt, and exhaustion. In 1 Kings 19:3, it says, "Elijah was afraid and ran for his life..." and we see a man of God at his lowest point, feeling overwhelmed and questioning everything. Sound familiar?

Life as a Christian isn’t always easy. It's full of ups and downs, and sometimes it can feel like we’re carrying the weight of the world. But here’s the good news: It’s okay not to be okay. Elijah’s story shows us that even the strongest believers have moments of weakness. Even in those moments when we feel like we're barely holding on, God is right there with us, offering rest, renewal, and the strength to keep going.

So, if you’re struggling today, know that you’re not alone. Being a Christian doesn’t mean you have to have it all together. In fact, it’s in our brokenness that God often meets us most powerfully. Tune in as we talk about Elijah’s journey and challenges of faith.

  • Like-Minded Isn’t Always Christ-minded

In this thought-provoking episode, Sonya discusses a common mindset in the modern Church — that like-mindedness automatically means Christ-mindedness. Many believers attend church seeking community, but is every gathering truly centered on Christ?

Using Hebrews 10:24-25, Matthew 18:20, Acts 2:44, and more, we explore how spirit-filled, Christ-centered community goes beyond the walls of a building. Jesus performed miracles in villages, on mountains, and in open fields — not just in temples. Likewise, your most powerful spiritual encounters can happen outside traditional church walls.

    🔍 In this episode:

    • The difference between being like-minded vs. Christ-minded
    • Why assembling in Christ’s name isn’t confined to a building
    • 3 biblical examples of gatherings that spiritually fed and encouraged
    • A reminder that not every pew is filled with faith-filled hearts
    • Encouragement to be the Church — not just go to church

Jesus calls us to community with purpose, not just routine. Ask yourself — am I gathering to encounter Christ or simply to fit in?

  • Don’t Get Caught Up

In this episode, we’re diving into the difference between having knowledge and actually living it out. It’s not just about what you know—it’s about what you do with what you know.

You’ll learn two key questions to ask yourself when faced with information or spiritual insight:

    1. What does this have to do with my salvation?
    2. How can this be applied to my life?

We talk about how God reveals things to us in stages—just like He did with Abraham and John the Baptist—and why having a relationship with God is more important than checking religious boxes.

Scriptures like Luke 6:31, Joshua 1:8, and James 1:22 remind us that the goal is application, not accumulation. God isn’t calling us to be like the Pharisees—legalistic but fruitless—but to walk closely with Him in obedience and faith.

Whether you're new to studying the Bible or feeling overwhelmed with information, this episode will encourage you to stay grounded, keep it simple, and keep your heart focused on what truly matters.

  • Where Is The Evidence?

In this episode, we dive into the question of what true Christian evidence looks like. Christianity should be evident in how a person lives. Jesus tells us that we’ll recognize his followers by their "fruit," not by how well they quote scriptures or attend church.

Being a Christian isn't about appearances. Satan himself quoted scriptures to Jesus, but his heart was far from God. Real evidence comes from how we live—our actions, our attitude, and the changes in our lives. A true Christian life should show fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and more—as described in Galatians 5:22-23.

It's not enough to just avoid sin or be morally good. Christianity is about transformation and becoming more like Christ. It’s a life of sanctification, where we actively work toward becoming the people God created us to be—people with better relationships, healthier minds, and greater generosity. Ultimately, the only real evidence of being a Christian is a life that has genuinely changed.

Tune in to explore how our actions and life choices reflect our faith, and why Christianity is more than just moral behavior—it's a whole new way of living.
