Here is a truth most couples overlook:

Routine. Mechanical. Distant.

Stop talking deeply…

Many couples say:

“We don’t feel close anymore.”

But closeness requires vulnerability.

And vulnerability feels risky when your heart has been hurt, ignored, or misunderstood.

So we guard our hearts.

 But guarded hearts create:

• Emotional distance
• Sexual disconnect
• Silent loneliness

Passion does not disappear because love died.

It disappears because hearts closed.

God holds US responsible for our spouses’ heart-how you treat their heart is

important to God.

God commanded husbands to love and wives to honor. If we do that consistently, our spouses want feel hurt, ignored or misunderstood.

God didn’t call you to be perfect.

He called you to be known.

This week, Coach Yolanda said that:

Many couples are committed… but disconnected.

You kept the vow.

You stayed faithful.

You didn’t walk away.

But connection slowly faded.

Covenant says:

We will not leave.

Connection says:

I still choose you — everyday.

Marriage doesn’t thrive on vows alone.

It thrives on emotional presence.

Connection is built through:

• Listening without fixing (what wives desire)
• Touch without pressure (true intimacy is not sex)
• Curiosity without judgment (fosters openness)
• Time without distraction (quality Time)

Many marriages die emotionally while staying legally alive.

Not because love ended…

But because connection stopped being intentional.

In today's episode, we learned that:

God did NOT create marriage to be cold, distant, or emotionally disconnected.

He created marriage to be:

• Emotionally safe
• Spiritually united
• Physically passionate
• Deeply connected

But then… shame entered.

And shame whispers:

• “You’re not enough.”
• “You’ll be rejected.”
• “Hide yourself.”
• “Protect yourself.”

And many marriages today are not struggling with lack of love…

They are struggling with lack of safety.

Because desire cannot thrive where shame lives.

Let me say that again:

Desire cannot live where shame feels safer than vulnerability.
