Biden's Poll Numbers; Aliens, AI, & Privacy, Oh My w/Yael Ossowski; Country Roads: German Version

54m | Nov 7, 2023

Your Heard Tell Show for Monday, November 6th, 2023 is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern our times by taking about that Joe Biden poll that had the talking heads and chattering classes in overdrive, how to parse out what is/isn't a good poll, how the different factions of the Democratic Party came to propel President Biden to the White House in the first place, and what does it all mean for 2024. Our guest is returning friend of the program and Deputy Director of the Consumer Choice Center Yaël Ossowski who hashes out aliens - or at least the new nomenclature of UAPs as opposed to UFOs - with a skeptical host Andrew, why the US government is doing some different and interesting things in this field, how other worldwide governments are responding, what we should and should not worry about in the skies above us, and how this all comes down to funding like all things do. Plus, Yael talks about information security, privacy, and what is likely to be the never ending struggle between confidentiality, personal information, and the booming market to monetize both for both the government and private sectors. Also, we talk a bit about AI and the latest Executive Order from the Biden Administration and Yael's latest writings on how regulating something that isn't even properly understood will have vast implications going forward. We end on a good note, as folks watching the NFL play a game in Frankfurt, Germany were surprised at the "Country Roads" singalong that went viral, host Andrew explains both through his previous writing on how the song became an institution and own lived experience in Germany why some things like wanting to be home yesterday are universal.
