On the twenty-sixth episode of the P.O.T.N👑. Podcast Takura was joined by Jourdan who is an ambitious, driven, and enthusiastic individual. In his episode he shares his passion for fitness, challenging himself, and working as an aerospace engineer. Jourdan tells us how his brother in law inspired him into doing marathons which he does regularly, but also live a healthier lifestyle. He was supposed to compete in the IronMan challenge in 2020 but it was delayed which he later competed in 2021. Jourdan shares his other passion for aircraft and flying. He often watched an Airline related TV show that got him permanently interested in Aerospace and working in the industry. He shares with us that many of his passions and interests are triggered by associating them with happy memories and he shares several examples of how he gained these new passions. Jourdan also shares his inspirations and how all of them moulded his character and ambition. He shares his unending gratitude to his family. In particular his mom, uncle, and cousin who all contributed towards his development. He tells us he loves learning and relishes every opportunity to learn something new. He encourages listeners that we should never limit ourselves and always aim to do more and do better. In addition, he adds that we must continue to try to learn new things, never be afraid to admit that we don’t know everything and have the determination to get things done. To support his points he shares an example of how he always struggled in academics but always wanted to become an aerospace engineer so with each failure he encountered he embraced it and immediately began working on the areas that needed improvement. From this story, he shares how he used his pain to drive forward and never once did he give up on himself. Jourdan also shares that failure is an opportunity for us to improve our view of it. He believes we should look at the positives when we don’t succeed and use that as motivation to overcome the failures we face. He advises listeners to never be afraid of admitting when they make a mistake because you take control of the situation and work towards identifying viable solutions. Going forward he is focused on achieving his career goals, travelling, learning new languages, learning how to programme and code, and being able to do more and positively impact others. He is also excited to see the continued development of technology, AI, and Autonomous vehicles. When faced with stressful situations Jourdan focuses on the bigger picture and notes that challenging times don’t last forever. In addition to that, he exercises, sets mini-goals to achieve, and reminds himself of what he is grateful for in his life. In his closing remarks, he encourages everyone to find things that we want to do long term and make them happen. He also encourages everyone to always be in a state of self-improvement and work to always be better. Surround ourselves with like-minded people who will encourage and inspire us.
