Jane Harper Neyman was the first person in the restoration to be baptized for the dead. However, her time in Nauvoo was extremely difficult, with 4 family members dying and rumors flying about around her daughters. She later became the first Beaver, Utah Relief Society president and emphasized charity, refraining from gossip, and sisterly love.

Mary Fielding Smith, a well-known woman of the restoration, heard about the gospel while living in Canada. She later married Hyrum Smith and became the step-mom of 5 children. Her life wasn't easy, but her faith and courage helped her withstand difficult situations and experiences.

"I was the nurse, but God was the physician." Amanda Barnes Smith joined the church with her husband, but after moving to Haun's mill in Missouri, her husband and son became some of the first martyrs for the Church in this dispensation.
