The man she married, Kevin Allen, age 51, has a history of violence. A 20 year long rap sheet. Filled with domestic abuse and death threats against the four women he married in his life.
Katie was going to play it cool. She’d meet Kevin at Cracker Barrel for their daughter Kerri Allen’s birthday party. There, in a public space, she would tell her husband that she wanted a divorce. And if Kevin became violent there would be witnesses. Things don't go to plan.

The two day route is a “simple up and down via the same trail from Imlil”. On the first day, you travel to Imlil). Once in Imlil, you take a four hour walk up the mountain to the refuge, and spend the night either in a tent or dorm. On the second day, you walk from the refuge to the summit. After spending time at the summit, you trek back down the mountain, all the way back to Imlil. There are many different routes you can take to get to the top of Mount Toubkal - this is just one example.

It’s early in the morning; two French hikers are on a “small hike” when they come “up on a plateau” about an hour into the hike. The hikers discover the bodies of Louisa and Maren on Mount Toubkal, around six miles from the center of Imlil.
