Today we’re discussing “Melatonin & Sleep – Good or Bad – Is it worth the side effect?"
Melatonin is a hormone released by the pineal gland in the brain after dark and has been associated with control of the sleep-wake cycle.
There are reports of accidental overdosing. Also, taking melatonin on a regular basis may lead lowered production by the pineal gland.
The most common side effects of melatonin are headaches, dizziness, nausea, and drowsiness.
Side effects also reported in kids are slowed breathing, depression and suicidal thoughts.
