She Lured Him Through SNAPCHAT... His Brother Died Trying to Save Him - ELIAS OTERO

In February 2021, 24-year-old former corrections officer Elias Otero was shot outside his Albuquerque, New Mexico home after his brother Nicholas was lured into an alleged robbery trap through Snapchat. Police said Anna Bella Dukes arranged to meet Nicholas at Alvarado Park, where armed men ambushed him, stole his belongings and forced him to lead them to his brothers' home for $1,000. Elias came outside armed after Nicholas called for help, triggering a confrontation that ended with Elias being fatally shot.

Investigators eventually connected Dukes and alleged shooter Adrian Avila to the plot through Snapchat records, phone data and another carjacking committed hours earlier. Avila later pleaded guilty and received 29 years in prison. Dukes ultimately received a five-year sentence for armed robbery.
