South Caroline Teenage Suspects Returned to Custody in Fatal Love Triangle Investigation.. TREY WRIGHT

On June 24, 2025, 16-year-old Trey Wright was shot and killed near Johnsonville, South Carolina, following a confrontation reportedly fuelled by Snapchat messages and a dispute involving his girlfriend, Gianna Kistenmacher. Police arrested Devan Raper as the suspected gunman, but eight other young people were also charged with murder under South Carolina's hand of one, hand of all doctrine.

In October 2026, the case returned to court when prosecutors accused Braylyn Thompson and Jaden Auclaire of violating their house-arrest conditions. Both were returned to custody following a bond hearing. In this episode of You Can't Unhear, we examine the Trey Wright murder case, the white Mazda SUV, the social-media dispute, the nine defendants, and the controversial legal question of whether someone can be responsible for murder without firing the weapon.
