Rodney Woodard: Taking Craft Beer From a Hobby to a Career

Rodney was born and raised in Texas, not in an area with much craft beer. However, through traveling with his career in finance and inspiration from an uncle, he learned about regional distinctions and differences in beer and became fascinated by craft beer's uniqueness. This interest ultimately grew to the point he could no longer keep it on the side and made the leap to follow his passion and make it his career.

Rodney took the leap after getting the chance to study brewing science at Sacred Heart University through a scholarship supported by Athletic Brewing. 

Our annual Black History Month brew, Soul Sour, supports the Sacred Heart scholarship and other organizations and programs breaking barriers in the brewing industry.
