Dave Houghland joins us for the hour. He's relative of the outlaw Bill Doolin. When he entered Cowboy Shooting competitions, he adopted the name. Dave is also a Cowboy Mounted Shooter and a retired law enforcement officer. Dave is also close to the Roy Rogers family. He said he was honored to dig Roy's final resting place.

Western Writers of America Spur Award Finalist Chilton Williamson joins us. His book, "The Last Westerner," chronicles the tale of one man's road toward fulfillment that plays out in stages of encounters and abandonment instead of one glorious "last stand" expected in a Western romance. Historian Bob Kolbe joins us to talk about the photographers that documented life from in the mid 1800s The book is called "They Captured the Moment: Dakotas Photographers 1853-1920." Bob has collected images and equipment those old-time photographers used.

We celebrate America's 250th birthday and the birthday of our Founder--Emil Franzi. Indeed, he was a Yankee Doodle Dandy born on the Fourth of July! Emil's daughter, Monica, and son-in-law, Darryl, join us to remember Franzi, as we affectionally called him. Lots of stories and clips from previous interviews.

Western Writers of America author R.G. Yoho joins us to talk about his books, which number more than a dozen. His books are fiction save for the story of Charles E. Cindy Mitchum Azbill joins us. She's the daughter of actor John Mitchum and the niece of actor Robert Mitchum. The book is "Them Ornery Mitchum Boys" written by John. It details a number of stories about the Mitchum boys growing up and eventually working in Hollywood. The book had been out of print, but is now being reprinted. You can find it here.
