Episode 147- Roots. Resilience and Results
How do early life experiences, values, and belief systems shape the kind of resilience a person can access during difficult times?
What practices help anchor identity, discipline, and emotional stability?
In moments of failure or setback, how do strong internal foundations influence whether someone quits, adapts, or grows?
How can one's personal history or the history of role models provide inspiration?
Guest Darlene Oakley
I have been a freelance writer, editor and transcriptionist for 20 years, with about 10 years in various publishing roles. I am a breast cancer survivor, and am slowing switching from writing and editing for others and just focusing on my own books. I live in Canada's Niagara Region.
My first book, Inner Sanctum: Remnant is book 1 of a planned tetralogy, with the plan to spin-off 3 more series. It's dystopian, post-apocalyptic with a dash of sci-fi and romance. It won the International Impact Book Award in Aug 2025 in the Science-Fiction/Dystopia - Fantasy category, and the Fall BookFest award in the same category.
I'm planning a Canadian Crime Catena (Series) starting with my first book in that series -- Voices of Angels. As well as a Stargate/Star Trek sort of series ... to name but a few.
