• The Curious Case of the Soul (pt 1)

In this episode, I explore the toxic individualism that is so characteristic of western society and argue that it estranges an individual from their own soul. The fundamental question is: is this modern world even marginally constructed for us to find meaning? Simple answer: no. I'm curious why that is, and what this means for the soul. I critique Albert Camus' "The Myth of Sisyphus" for its nihilistic framing, and of course sprinkle some related criticisms on capitalism and European Enlightenment.

Welcome to The Weight of God! My name is Fareah, and I’m a student studying English and Philosophy. This podcast is part reading diary, part narrative essay, part cultural criticism. More than anything, it’s a space to explore our relationship to the world, ourselves, each other, and the tensions between those things. I hope you’ll embark on this journey of meaning-making with me.
