Rhys is the NYT bestselling author of the Royal Spyness novels as well as the Molly Murphy mysteries she now writes with her daughter Clare Broyles. In addition Rhys writes internationally bestselling stand alone historical novels, mostly set in WWII. She has received three Edgar nominations and won twenty awards to date, as well as being published in over thirty languages. Rhys was born and educated in Britain, worked in BBC drama but now divides her time between California and Arizona
