Season 2 Episode 28 : I Didn't Owe Him My Time

In this week's episode, Rachelle explores the intricate dynamics of attraction and societal expectations, emphasizing how self-awareness and confidence have empowered her to navigate situations differently in her 40s compared to her 20s.

Sharing a personal experience with her trademark humor and sass, Rachelle passionately challenges the notion that women are obligated to cater to men's desires, and expertly debunks patriarchal narratives.

Throughout the episode, Rachelle champions the idea that it is essential to assert boundaries and stand firm in one's autonomy, despite outside expectations, and invites listeners to rethink societal conditioning, embrace assertive communication, and ultimately pave the way for healthier, more authentic connections.

Too Long, Didn’t Listen (TLDL):

  • Be okay turning somebody down. Even if they did something nice for you.
  • You are responsible for compassionately and honestly asserting/holding your boundaries... NOT for how people receive them. It's ok of they are uncomfortable or feel exposed.
  • Women are conditioned to put other's needs first, and we forget that somebody just getting to spend time with us is enough.
  • YOU DO NOT OWE ANYONE YOUR TIME, ENERGY, OR BODY
  • You should be able to make boundaries with somebody that has interest in you and have them be respectful that you're not interested. Period.
