The Mush Room Ep 5: Psychedelic Culture, Community & Microdosing w/ Dennis Walker of Mycopreneur

Johnny sits down with Dennis Walker, founder of the Mycopreneur podcast, for an unplanned but perfect conversation that covers his first mushroom trip, why harm reduction and psychonaut culture kept him safe from the start, and how every kind of person, from NFL players to Navy SEALs to business executives, is finding their way to mushrooms.

They get into the synthetic psilocybin debate, which states are likely to legalize next, why microdosing and macrodosing probably need different regulation, and how Dennis built the Mycopreneur Incubator into a real community. They also cover CPZ mushroom, the truth about Amanita muscaria, disaster relief applications, and why prepping and integration matter more than the dose itself. This one is packed with real world experience and zero corporate polish.

Every kind of person is finding their way to mushrooms right now, from NFL players to Navy SEALs to business executives. Sharing real stories from people in those worlds is doing more to normalize this than any clinical paper.

Mushrooms work for well people too. You do not need a diagnosis or a crisis to benefit. A lot of the conversation focuses on healing trauma, but there is a whole use case for people who are already doing fine and want more clarity.

Microdosing and macrodosing are different enough that they probably need different regulatory models. Treating a point-three gram dose the same as a supervised four gram session does not reflect how people actually use mushrooms.

The psychedelic investment bubble already inflated and deflated once. The businesses that last are not chasing billion dollar valuations, they are building sustainable, personally meaningful work around community access.

Integration and prepping matter more than the dose itself. The insight from a mushroom experience only sticks if you do the work before and after the actual trip.
