In Episode 005, Robb walks Josh through a garbage-day disaster and the surprisingly clever trick he uses to track down his missing key. Josh has a competing strategy, naturally, and the guys debate whether brains beat simply diving into the trash. Along the way, there’s a hard-fought used-car negotiation, a stash of root beer barrels, and considerably more mayonnaise than anyone wanted.
The conversation takes a more personal turn as Josh shares a frightening emergency-vet visit with his dog Bella and the staggering cost of getting answers. Robb relates with stories about his aging dog Linus, a failed nail-trimming appointment, and a groomer whose voice sends him straight into *Euphoria*.
Plus: a thoughtful listener restores Robb’s beloved knife set, the guys talk head-shaving mishaps and plans for the final TMOS cruise, thank the founding members helping launch the show, and consider whether a mystery hat is a bargain or an expensive gamble.
It’s lost keys, loyal dogs, sharp objects, and questionable headwear—with a burger box holding the answer.

The show opens with an honest conversation about suicide prevention as therapist Cynthia Catchings joins Mike, Robb, and Josh to discuss recognizing distress, supporting loved ones, and keeping communication open with kids. Mike shares a difficult chapter from his own life before the boys shift gears to his supposedly calmer approach to the Red Sox—and a baseball-practice scheduling fiasco that proves his patience still has limits. A congressional “gotcha” falls apart over the difference between the Hawks and the Hawkeyes, while a heated discussion of measles and vaccines produces a very questionable mob motto: “Weasles Get Measles.” Plus, notification overload, Wolfman Jack memories, Fat Bear Week, and a Charlie Callas classic that sends everybody out laughing.

At Mike’s new country club, a “soft lunch” apparently means everything goes in the blender. The boys turn a discussion of social-media “soft launches” into a menu for older golfers, while Mike confesses to driving jitters, school-pickup naps, and an orange-creamsicle detour that Robb was once denied. A Land Remembered rekindles Mike’s love of reading, and Robb explains why his upcoming cataract surgery can’t come soon enough. Then it’s time for Robb’s definitive diet-soda power rankings, featuring a Fresca disappointment and a vigorous debate over whether Coke Zero in a bottle deserves its own spot. Plus, British comedy gets wonderfully ridiculous, Red Sox–Yankees playoff nerves kick in, Trevor Lawrence’s goal-line decision gets scrutinized, and an original Oompa Loompa returns to the chocolate factory with his son.

Three people. Three waffles. Absolutely no side dishes. Mike’s baseball weekend ends at Waffle House, but not before another umpire showdown and a team dinner at WingHouse that turns out to be considerably less family-friendly than expected. The boys investigate baseball’s reality-TV moms, overpriced dreams of athletic glory, and the fine art of letting kids be kids. Robb’s Halloween spirit faces an intervention courtesy of black ranch dressing, while he and Josh unveil WonkaCast—and Mike would like to remind everyone that he hasn’t retired yet. Plus, a capybara café, an 86-year-old speed demon, Helen Mirren appreciation, Charlie Callas on Carson, and an Ace Hardware shoplifting story that puts electrical parts in a place they were never meant to go.

Some people visit a haunted attraction to be scared. Robb visits one and learns industry terminology—specifically, the “boohole,” the hidden alcove where a scare actor waits to ruin your evening.
In Episode 004, Robb takes Josh inside a Halloween Haunt preview packed with fog machines, monsters, candy apples, suspiciously enthusiastic influencers, and enough booholes to make anyone reconsider throwing a reflexive punch. The guys also imagine retired baseball legend Albert “Boohole,” debate the proper use of a no-scare necklace, and make plans to resurrect the turkey-leg challenge.
Then the conversation escapes the maze. Josh samples Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, the guys pitch “Dancing with the Founders” for the final TMOS cruise, and Robb discovers a Wonka reality competition so bad he cannot stop watching it. There is also a well-earned Hall of Fame induction for founding listener Jolene White, a full-volume rendition of “Copacabana” performed for free sandwich-shop cookies, and an urgent debate over enormous holiday decorations—including a 40-foot teddy bear and the inseparable Miser Brothers.
It’s monsters, television, free cookies, questionable landscaping, and one unforgettable piece of haunted-house vocabulary. Watch the shadows. Mind the alcoves. There may be a boohole nearby.

Cary’s birthday is here, and Robb celebrates with T-bones, a professionally engineered bread pudding, a freshly detailed car, and one tire-pressure light that has apparently been living its own private life. Mike gets serious about a disturbing immigration video before the boys return to the safer waters of presidential documentaries, fun First Ladies, and the unexpectedly useful phrase “Pat Nixon.” Then an airline nightmare gives that phrase a whole new meaning—and makes a free upgrade to first class seem like the bare minimum. Mike’s snake tastes freedom, a finger monkey becomes the pet nobody needs, and Florida neighborhood paranoia reaches beautifully antisocial new heights. Plus, Robb prepares for eye surgery by dating every medical form with Cary’s 1968 birthday and placing his future vision in the capable digital hands of a scheduling app named Robert.

The show begins with a heartfelt message for beloved TMOS family member Jolene White as she takes on the fight of her life. Mike then delivers the full report on Michael’s fish-hook emergency, featuring an urgent care that apparently does not “do fish hooks,” an ER metal detector, and three separate people asking whether Mike was really the father. The hook finally comes out after some lidocaine, a tiny scalpel, and several determined yanks—and, most importantly, both the son and the treasured lure survive. Robb unveils his unsettling AI family album, placing present-day relatives beside their younger selves and aging Michael decades into the future for a father-son golf photo nobody requested. Plus, the boys meet AI Chip, investigate a Florida drone-related murder plot, expose Belichick’s four-upright trick, mourn melting football cleats, preview the Norm Macdonald documentary, and watch a trumpet player rescue the national anthem when his instrument gives up.

Mike begins the show without running water after forgetting the bill, inspiring Robb and Josh to check their own utilities before the entire neighborhood goes dry. Then Michael steps on a fishing lure past the barb, and Mike abandons the studio for urgent care while the boys keep the broadcast afloat with Captain Hook songs and extremely unqualified medical advice. Robb and Josh use the emergency downtime to debate nameless neighbors, AI-powered memory aids, and whether adults have stolen Halloween by declaring “spooky season” before summer is technically over. Mike checks in from the waiting room as tales of giant lawn spiders, Disney’s Halloween crowds, expensive popcorn, and the Liberty Tree Tavern turn the show into a very unusual family field trip. Plus, an Elvis impersonator creates a cape-and-ticket-price crisis, the Cardiac Commanders break hearts again, and everyone learns that fish hooks, water bills, and professional football are all designed to keep you from getting away.

Robb has spent years believing it was spelled “Traitor Joe’s.” Now the truth—and the groceries—can finally come out.
In Episode 003, a parking-lot handoff of collectible Elvis Matchbox cars leads Robb and Josh into the strange world of specialty groceries, suspicious shoppers, vegan marshmallows, chicken pot pies, frozen-food nostalgia, and the realization that the store may not have been betraying anyone after all.
Then Josh delivers the follow-up nobody expected: his completely scientific list of the smartest animals he has personally encountered. Chameleons, bees, birds, dogs, alligators, sharks, and several questionable definitions of “intelligence” enter the debate.
Plus, the guys preview the upcoming final TMOS cruise, compare restorative “artist weekends,” and prepare for Robb’s return to the high-school football press box—complete with stadium sound effects, deeply outdated music cues, imaginary attendance figures, and advice from the chat.
It’s groceries, collectibles, animal rankings, cruise talk, and enough detours to make the title feel almost responsible. It’s *Still Talkin’ 003: Traitor Joe’s*.
## Short Description
Robb and Josh investigate “Traitor Joe’s,” reveal an Elvis Matchbox treasure, rank the smartest animals, preview the final TMOS cruise, and build the least current high-school football playlist imaginable.

Artificial intelligence may soon generate entire podcasts, but no machine could recreate the chaos of Mike ordering doggy diapers and receiving disposable male wraps instead. He straps one onto Winslow, confidently declares the problem solved, and is immediately confronted with a mysterious puddle that technology cannot explain. A discussion of golf-course comfort stations then takes one spectacularly unfortunate historical turn and hands the episode its title. The boys also explore parasocial grief, remembering Dolly Parton, George Harrison, Robin Williams, Prince, Norm Macdonald, and the celebrities whose passing felt surprisingly personal. Plus, Robb recalls his adventures aboard unstable advertising blimps, Mike warns against wine-powered golf carts, and a vintage milk party proves that teenagers of the 1950s were absolutely out of control.

The show welcomes a highly questionable new sponsor from Ashtabula, Ohio—and Robb somehow knows the town thanks to a deep-cut song from a Drew Carey Show album. Mike declares war on dashboard rubber ducks, discovers what is actually inside Yoo-hoo, and realizes everyone he once considered young is now fully middle-aged. The great doggy-diaper experiment is officially underway, although Mike’s own emergency visit to the Sprouts restroom suggests the hounds may not be the only ones who need a backup plan. Robb unveils his Birkenstock boots, the boys debate a Hyrox champion who powered through a profoundly messy race, and Josh receives the shortest personal check-in in broadcasting history. Plus, retirement talk gets real, a Florida deer takes an unauthorized swim, and artificial intelligence finally achieves its highest purpose: telling Nellie Oleson exactly where she can go.

#3708: Whatadick
Mike arrives late after a scheduling mix-up, briefly considers blaming a power outage, and proves once again that honesty is the most inconvenient policy. His anniversary weekend delivers a terrific dinner, a baseball championship for Michael’s team, and enough sports victories to make him immediately suspicious of the universe. Winslow celebrates by peeing directly into a running fan, which sends the boys toward the only sensible solution: diapers for every member of the household. The guys also pause for a thoughtful look back at September 11, the communication blackout in New York, and the technology that changed how we experience major events. Then Robb performs emergency surgery on a bargain-bin Elvis while Mike heckles the Whataburger faithful as “Whatadicks,” joins their line anyway, and discovers that the burger is terrific—even if the apple pie belongs in the trash.

In Episode 002, Robb and Josh discover that mosquitoes may be getting smart enough to work around insect repellent, launching an urgent investigation into DEET, bug intelligence, the animal kingdom’s unofficial IQ rankings, and whether a mosquito could someday outsmart a chicken. The science is unsettling. Their conclusions are considerably less reliable.
Then Brian Boone, fact curator for Uncle John’s All-Knowing Bathroom Reader, joins the show to explain how bizarre facts make it onto the page, what it takes to verify the unbelievable, and why bathroom reading became an institution.
Plus, the microphones were rolling during Robb and Josh’s Outer Banks adventure. Hear them roam the Wright Brothers museum, evaluate aviation history in real time, and stumble toward an idea they’re saving for the Founders.
Smart bugs, strange facts, vacation audio, and two hosts asking the questions science was afraid to answer.

Mike wonders whether phones are still worth getting excited about, and a two-grand foldable earns the devastating verdict: “slightly intriguin’.” Dirk marks Mike and Carla’s anniversary with a heartfelt poem, which mainly reminds Mike that he should probably start planning something. A 98-inch television leads to some very serious negotiations involving furniture, Frosted Flakes, and Mike’s completely reasonable desire to hide his ice cream from his own family. Robb takes us to Hungary for competitive grave digging, where tidy corners and backbreaking speed can earn you several hundred dollars and all the goulash you can handle. Plus, Josh crunches the numbers on football Down Under, the boys inspect Oklahoma’s finest dinner special, and a Piggly Wiggly hot bar gives us the closing feast we never knew we needed.

Robb and Josh return from their Outer Banks boys’ weekend with tales of THC beverages, Coyote vs. Acme, two closed restaurants, and enough X-Men coin-pusher time to qualify as a residency. Mike investigates whether the wives were truly invited, whether Robb and Josh can survive breakfast together, and whether an arcade watch gets more valuable when it costs $104 to win. Michael makes Dad proud in the football broadcast booth—then his school hangs 60 points on the visitors before halftime and the other team declines to return. A TikTok sage explains that deodorant and cologne are why men can’t “pull baddies,” leading the guys to recommend the irresistible musk of Costco onions instead. Add ugly-pants choreography, vintage hot-dog manufacturing, dueling organists, and an NFL player who finally says what he thinks, and the show smells like a winner.
