#15 The truth about owning and operating a Med Spa

On this episode, we had some raw, unfiltered conversation with the founder of Nursie Cosmetics.

Ishyia “Shy” Smith is the owner and founder of Nursie Cosmetics. Shy is a passionate Advanced Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner who believes the delivery of beauty should be one of high quality and fulfilling experience for all clients who opting these services. She has a true talent for creating art & enhancing one's appearance. Shy's goal is to offer services to improve her well-being, while ensuring peace of mind is offered through each client's transformation. With over 11 years of experience in the medical industry, aesthetic medicine and wellness holds her most special interest! Shy became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner back in2020. Prior to this endeavor she embarked her nursing career back in 2010.

Shy is now focused on transforming the beauty industry while performing nonsurgical cosmetic procedures with facial & body injectables; while incorporating wellness therapies for all. Shy is known as our master injector, and now private aesthetic trainer. Her newest business drive is Nursie Aesthetics Training, which focuses on increasing medical providers skills and knowledge on face and body injectable procedures. Shy’s impact on the community as a leader, influencer, and woman-owned business has encouraged like providers to gain and/or join the cosmetic and aesthetics community.

Shy has been featured on The Morning Blend Show Las Vegas, My Vegas Magazine "Top Women of Influence in 2022", Soulish Beauty Cover for June 2023, and recently was featured on the Las Vegas Now Lifestyle Show.

As of today Nursie Cosmetics & Aesthetics Wellness Spa has been listed as one of the Top 25 Medical Spas in Las Vegas, NV for 2022 and 2023, as well as being the first fully black & women-owned Medical Spa in Las Vegas! Shy stated "It is a honor to make a difference in all the lives that we touch. However, the greatest reward is creating opportunities in my community. I have to thank God for blessing me with this talent and everyone who believed in me."
