  • How Living Rooted in Christ Brings Overflowing Joy with Tara Dew

Tara Dew is joining us today to talk about living a joy filled life that is rooted in Christ. In Tara’s new book, Overflowing Joy, she walks us through Jesus’ teaching of the vine and the branches in John 15. Tara teaches us what that means and what it looks like to practically abide in Him so that our joy can be complete. We talk about gratitude and how that unlocks so much joy and cantonment in this life, living rooted in joy even in the early years of motherhood, and the great calling of raising kids that are rooted in Christ. Tara truly lives out this message of living with Overflowing Joy and I know you’re going to be so blessed by her today.

  • Get Your Hopes Up: Believing God is Good Even When Life Brings Sorrow

Let’s call this one another entry in the “Couch Chats” series - where we pull back the curtain and talk about life, as if you were sitting on my couch having coffee with me.

If we’re honest, the first few months of the year have been hard for us, and maybe you can relate. Which is why today I want to share some encouragement around “getting your hopes up” even if that might feel impossible right now. BEcause here’s what I know to be true: God is in the business of working everything together for His glory and our good, and if it’s not good, He’s not done.

Thanks for always letting me share my heart with you. Grab your favorite drink and let’s chat.

  • How To Intentionally Approach Discipleship With Your Kids This Year

When it comes to our kids, discipleship often feels like this big, intimidating thing that we know we need to do but we’re not quite sure how to do. Right?

Here’s the good news, friend: discipleship is actually quite simple, and it’s not something we need to stress about or feel pressure about.

It’s less about the big, planned moments and more about you as a parent making the conscious decision to center your life around Christ. When you make Christ the center of your home, discipleship is inevitable. As the apostle Paul said, follow me as I follow Christ.

So today we’re going to discuss what discipleship is, why we should care about it, and we’ll talk about two different types of discipleship and how to be sure they are both happening in your children’s lives. So lean in and let’s get into another episode of The Joy Filled Podcast.

“These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them be a symbol on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your city gates.”–Deuteronomy 6:6-9 CSB
