Prior to this period, Dave had already led a large church in the Philadelphia area, constantly dealing with the problems that arise when working with a congregation. However, around 2010 or 2011, the decibel level of challenges seemed to increase dramatically. The denomination that Dave was a part of faced intense scrutiny and their leader had to take a leave of absence. In this crisis, Dave was appointed as the interim president and chairman of the board to steer the organization through this tumultuous time. It was a crucial moment where someone needed to step up and take charge.
