Hes and Cole get a chance to meet the members of Multae, led by Hes' mom, and Angel joins in soon after. They have been researching the Stranger and trying to put the pieces together. And it seems they have some pieces that our Shadows need. Including when this all really began.

Angel instructs Millie to listen in on the conversations in the bar and to let her know when the Stranger plans to leave, while she waits outside in her car. While sitting at the bar, Millie is greeted by an old friend of hers, Izobel, who happens to be an associate of George who is there for similar reasons. After a few minutes of talking past each other, they agree to work together.

Hes returns to the theater to collect some strings and runs into Cole as he brings Lily to listen to the recording. Lily is not as shocked by this as they expected her to be, but once Hes realizes what is going on she gets very upset.

Most of the cards are on the table, and Lily may have the connection they need to answer some questions as to how the Stranger got here.

Angel has some questions to ask of a person in power within the Wizards Tower (aka the Lab) and Hes needs to pick up some supplies for the device she and Windward are building. So they do a bit of a team-up. Angel searches for some way to shift the balance of power while Hes collects what she needs.

They also get some tantalizing bits of information on the Stranger and hints on how he's been exerting control over their city.

Cole goes to get lunch with his friend Lily, who works at the hospital and whose voice he heard in the recording with Cass. He wants to see what she knows about the strange things going on around town and about Cass in particular. When she presses him about why he is being so cryptic, he invites her to join him at the theater because some things are easier to show than to explain.

Angel, Millie, and Cole continue to discuss their strange situation over breakfast.

When they realize Cass may have known more than she said, so they go and investigate her room, finding her journal. Then they journey downstairs where they find a recording of the night she died. There Cole recognizes the voice of Lily, and decides to go grab lunch with her to see if she knows what is going on while Angel goes to the lab.

Cole brings Millie her breakfast, an embezzler, and they scare the daylights out of him. Angel arrived around the same time, though she waits in the break room while Millie takes care of business. 

They discuss the situation and Angel shares her discovery of the prophecy and her plans to get a meeting with the Stranger.

The next morning in the Junk Drawer, Windward takes a chance and shares a project they have been working on for years now. They have a long discussion of the possible dangers of their current situation before delving into a debate on what souls are made of.

Turns out, Windward may have a way to find the missing souls, but it is not without its dangers.

Whoever left Hock in the cabin left some sort of alarm system in the form of two shadowy figures. Windward tries to disguise their intentions, hoping they will not raise any undue alarm. 

Millie finds an unconscious Hock in the basement and Hes finds an unconscious Darren in the living room. Hes discerns that Hock lacks a soul but when she goes to check Darren, she gives someone a glimpse into her mind. 

The drive back to Junk Drawer is filled with heavy conversation as these friends face the unknown.

After receiving the devastating news that Cass is dead, Hes, Millie and Windward continue on their search for the missing Hock. The trail leads them into the woods and to the cabin that Hock uses when he needs to disappear. What they found was not what they expected.

Angel came to Oak Ridge to help her friend Roz solve a mystery, only to find herself facing yet another mystery. Roz has disappeared without a trace or any word of where she was going. Angel is able to piece together some of what she is working on, and it is not a comforting picture.

Tonight, Kyle is missing work at Junk Drawer to attend a very important meeting. Their other employer, George, is expecting an update on their recent assignments as well as interesting goings-on in the city. He also has a new job for Kyle. 

George wants to know more about this Stranger and what they are doing in this city. He also drops a hint that if the Stranger were to be removed, he will consider Kyle's part of the deal completed. 

Armed with that information, Kyle goes to follow some leads only to find tragedy.

It's a mostly quiet night in the odd little town of Oak Ridge, but that quiet is about to break. Cass, the oracle, runs into a few of her friends at Big Ed's pizza after a very disappointing meeting with the council. 

Something dangerous has come to Oak Ridge, and Cass has seen what might happen if it is not dealt with soon. The stranger spells doom. He is connected to the recent string of disappearances. Her benefactor, a girl from another world, warns her that if the stranger is not stopped he will consume her reality.
