The clinical year is a high-impact component of the M.D. curriculum where medical students truly learn the medicine they’ve been taught in the classroom and discover what specialty they want to pursue. At UNC, this clinical year (3rd year) is known as Application Phase and is completed at one of six campuses across NC.
