• should this podcast come back?

It's been almost 3 years exactly since my last podcast upload. Just testing the waters to see if this is something that I should bring back. Cheers 👍

  • Freezing batteries and pocket clips
Back to full-on winter here in the great white north. The trials and tribulations of trying something new. I was selling crappy tools without knowing it.
    S1E25 - 42m - Feb 9, 2021
  • I'm cheering for Italy
Life is short and comes with little guarantee. Are you doing today what it is that you want to do with your life?
    S1E24 - 46m - Jan 27, 2021

What is the mindset that you are bringing into 2021? Whether it be good or bad, it will have a massive impact on how 2021 turns out for you.

    S1E22 - 45m - Dec 30, 2020
  • Conspiracy theories, Propaganda, and iPads
Does thinking for yourself and questioning what we're told to believe make you a conspiracy theorist? Also, we'll talk some tools.  I have been really busy working in the shop and the Christmas rush is in full force. I haven't had much time for anything other than work but I have been having a great sense of satisfaction and contentedness lately. I have really been enjoying my work, and my tools. Here is an article about the Canadian government setting up a new organization to use propaganda and other techniques to influence Canadians: https://ottawacitizen.com/news/national/defence-watch/canadian-military-to-establish-new-organization-to-use-propaganda-other-techniques-to-influence-canadians Here is the article where they lied and said there were wolfs at large and that people should not leave their homes: https://www.thechronicleherald.ca/news/provincial/forged-letter-warning-about-wolves-on-the-loose-part-of-canadian-forces-propaganda-campaign-that-went-awry-509157/ This is some scary stuff and I think that the best way to combat this is simply to share this information so it does not go un-noticed. The governments of the world would love nothing more than having a completely ignorant citizen base that doesn't think for themselves and hold people in power accountable.

Thank you so ISOTUNES for sponsoring this episode of the podcast. • Happy Thanksgiver eh!
It's Canadian thanksgiving. Why do Canadians celebrate thanksgiving differently than American? This is a great time of year to reflect and be thankful for all that we have. Even in crazy times like we are living in, we have a lot to be thankful for.

  • Physical Fitness as a Maker
As "makers" I seldom hear conversations around exercise and physical fitness. And yet, our physical ability plays such a huge role in what we do. I've struggled in the past with trying to get in shape just like so many other people. Lately I've been experimenting with exercise and seeing how it affects me when I'm making stuff. I am blown away by what I am noticing. I also found something that has made a HUGE difference in my ability to exercise consistently. In this episode I'll let you know what I'm learning about it. 2 recommendations this week: First is a book called The Joy of Movement by Kelly McGonigal. Second is a podcast called The Order of Man.

  • Demanding Freedom
In this episode I share a story about how I thought I could force my ideas on someone else. Hypocritically thinking that my freedom meant robbing someone else of their own. A good lesson learned for these times of contention we are living in. Also, a new tool I bought that I thought would be useless and a project we are working on in our house. My recommendation this week: Think for yourself. Seek all sources of information and question them all equally. Also, a YouTube channel I've enjoyed that practices journalism that is generally opposed to the main stream traditional media. Rebel News on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGy6uV7yqGWDeUWTZzT3ZEg

  • A chat with Bob Rankin
Bob Rankin is a very talented knife maker and maker of damascus steel. While he doesn't really consider himself a blacksmith, his curiousity for forge welding led him to build his own forge and forging press. I first met Bob via one of my viewer's knives segments on YouTube and since that time it has been amazing to see his skill progress as a knife maker and one who makes amazing damacus steel.
