On the twenty-fifth episode of the P.O.T.N👑. Podcast Takura was joined by Thabani who is excitable, determined, and a philomath. In his episode, he shares his passions for the outdoors, making music, being artistic and many other exciting activities. Thabani shares his journey of growing up in Zimbabwe and travelling to the United Kingdom to study. He breaks down his experience of learning how to play the piano and the methods he used to gain better experience, improve, and learn how to play other instruments. In his episode, he also gracefully praises the many people who inspired him on his journey, like Nkosilathi, his family, Mr Mangondo, and his father’s work manager who gave him insight into thinking ambitiously, as well as funding his studies abroad out of the goodness of their hearts. Thabani shares his sincere gratitude for them and everything they did for him to get to where he is today. Thabani is a proud learner and enjoys learning new things and venturing into new projects where he can learn more and continuously develop. In his episode, he references two icons Wynton Marsalis and John Max Ferdinand who shared vital information on equality, empowerment, and self-improvement. Thabani breaks down the 5 stages of gaining a new attribute which he learned from John Max Ferdinand. The stages are: Drive, Planning, Grinding, Sacrifice, and Payoff. It is a stellar model that can help anyone who wishes to learn something new and attain it. In tough times his faith in God has helped him overcome many difficult obstacles and he encourages everyone to recognise that they are never alone when they are fighting a battle. He also shares that we all need to acknowledge what is happening but not dwell on it and find ways of overcoming what is hindering us. In addition to that, he also believes that failure is a humbling experience and is a fabulous opportunity for us all to learn and adapt to new challenging scenarios in future. Going forward Thabani is interested to see how the world continues to adapt to the pandemic. He is also excited to see how advancements in technology will affect humankind and beyond. As well as see how much more he can continue to learn at each new opportunity he gets. He encourages all the listeners to be open to learning, seek out mentorship, and most importantly practice seeing the good in what people do not focus solely on their flaws. In his closing remarks, he encourages all of us to be open to learning, start working towards our goals not just think about them. When it is safe to travel, Thabani encourages everyone to travel around the world and learn about other cultures. This exposure will help when building new relationships with new people, build up our self-awareness, and emotional intelligence which is extremely valuable.
