Transcontinental | Angel-Ho

Angel-Ho is a flamboyant producer, singer, songwriter, performance artist from Cape Town, South Africa. This month, she released ‘ Heaven At A Fast Eye’ , a compilation of her greatest hits, spanning “ 13 years of art and love".

Her debut album ‘Death Becomes Her’ "encompasses themes of love, sex, struggle and universal fantasies treated with an ambiguity that restructures the narrative within trans identity", Hyperdub.

This year also marks the 10th anniversary of NON Worldwide, the collective/record label founded by Angel-Ho, Chino Amobi, and Melika Ngombe Kolongo aka Nkisi. They have released 3 remarkable compilations showcasing a broad spectrum of electronic, experimental music by African artists and of the diaspora (Bonaventure, Klein, Faka, Gita, John Glacier to name a few…). NON is a collective “using sound as their primary medium, to articulate the visible and invisible structures that create binaries in society, and in turn distribute power. The exploration of -non-, prior to the adjective, gives intel into the focus of the label, creating sound opposing contemporary canons", NON Worldwide.
