• 17: A Little Podcast Update

Hi! In this short episode, I’m giving you a little life and podcast update.

I’ve decided to slow down Overheard in My Head and move to one episode a month while I focus more of my time and energy on studying for the LSAT and working toward my goal of getting into law school.

The podcast isn’t going anywhere. I genuinely love making it, I love the creative process, and I love having this little space to talk about relationships, healing, womanhood, and everything happening in my head.

But I’m also learning that I don’t have to do everything at once.

So for now, I’m choosing to slow down instead of overwhelm myself. The podcast will still be here—I’ll just be checking in once a month.

Thank you for listening and supporting!

    See you next month.

  • 16: Lessons I’m Still Learning

In this episode, I’m talking about the lessons I’m still learning—even the ones I thought I had already figured out.

I reflect on love, healing, slowing down, attachment, and the ways our past experiences can shape what we think relationships are supposed to feel like. Sometimes growth isn't about learning something completely new; it's about being reminded of something you already know and finally being ready to see it differently.

Also, I’m sorry if some parts of this episode sound a little choppy! I’ve been coughing a lot lately, and talking was irritating my throat, so I had to edit quite a bit of coughing out. Thank you for bearing with me while my voice is apparently going through its own healing journey.

ALSO - new podcast art! Let me know what you think!!!

  • 15: My Dating Dealbreakers

After everything I've learned from past relationships, heartbreak, and being single again, I've been thinking a lot about what I actually will—and won't—accept in my next relationship.

In this episode, I go through my dating dealbreakers: from communication, emotional intelligence, ambition, and consistency to boundaries, honesty, values, politics, lifestyle, and the way someone treats other people.

Some are about compatibility. Some are about personal preferences. And some are absolute non-negotiables.

I also talk about the difference between having standards and expecting perfection, and why knowing your dealbreakers isn't about creating an impossible checklist—it's about knowing yourself well enough to recognize when someone isn't right for you.

I'm not looking for someone perfect. I'm looking for someone whose values, character, and way of moving through the world are compatible with mine.

  • 14: Things I Want Before My Next Relationship

For a long time, I thought finding the right relationship would make my life feel complete.

Now, I'm realizing that's not the goal.

Before my next relationship, there are things I want for myself—not because they'll make me more "worthy" of love, but because they'll make my life fuller, richer, and more fulfilling regardless of whether I'm single or not.

In this episode, I talk about becoming my own person again, building confidence that doesn't depend on someone else's attention, strengthening friendships, pursuing my own goals, and creating a life I genuinely love living.

I also share two Reddit stories that sparked an important question:

What if the best thing you can bring into your next relationship... is a life you've already fallen in love with?

  • 13: The Pressure of Being Almost 30 and Single

There comes a point where it feels like everyone else is moving on without you.

Engagements. Weddings. Babies. New homes. Career milestones.

Meanwhile, you're wondering if you're somehow behind.

In this episode, I talk about the pressure of approaching 30 while being single, the invisible timelines we compare ourselves to, and how social media can make it feel like everyone has life figured out except us.

We dive into why comparison is so tempting, why life isn't a race, and why your worth isn't measured by the milestones you've reached by a certain age.

    Maybe you're not behind.

    Maybe you're just living a life that doesn't fit someone else's timeline—and that's okay.

Because your life isn't on pause while you're waiting for love.

    It's happening right now.

  • 12: Is It Intuition or Anxiety? | Learning to Trust Yourself Again

After heartbreak, it's easy to question everything—including yourself.

Are you noticing a genuine red flag, or is your anxiety trying to protect you from getting hurt again? How do you tell the difference between intuition and fear?

In this episode, I explore the complicated relationship between attachment, anxiety, and intuition. We talk about why past experiences can make us hyper-aware of rejection, how to recognize healthy concern versus anxious overthinking, and what it really means to trust yourself again after being hurt.

I also share a little life update and reflect on how healing has quietly changed me. Looking back, I'm realizing I've come a lot farther than I ever gave myself credit for.

Maybe healing isn't about never feeling anxious again.

Maybe it's about learning to trust yourself through it.

  • 11: Was I Love Bombed?

After months of replaying my relationship in my head, I started asking myself a question I hadn't considered before:

    Was I love bombed?

In this episode, I unpack what love bombing actually is, the signs that made me question my own experience, and why it's so difficult to tell the difference between genuine excitement and unhealthy intensity. I reflect on the early stages of my relationship, the promises that were made, and why some people leave us chasing the version of them we met at the beginning.

Whether you've questioned a past relationship or you're trying to recognize the signs in a new one, this episode is an honest conversation about love, attachment, red flags, and the importance of looking back with clarity instead of blame.

Sometimes healing isn't about changing the past—it's about finally understanding it.

  • 10: Why Some People Stay in Your Head

Why do some people stay in our minds long after they've left our lives?

In this episode, I reflect on a recent moment that sent me spiraling after seeing a new photo of my ex—and the realization that followed. After months of processing, grieving, and trying to understand what happened, I started asking myself a different question: what am I still holding onto?

I talk about the fear of letting go, the comfort we sometimes find in familiar pain, and why moving on can feel scarier than staying attached to the story. I also explore the idea that some people stay in our heads not because they're meant for us, but because they touched something deeper within us.

Maybe healing isn't just about understanding what happened.

Maybe it's about deciding you don't need to carry it anymore.

  • 9: What Does It Mean To Be Feminine?

What does it actually mean to be feminine?

After watching a conversation on Love Island USA, I started thinking about how differently women experience femininity. Some of us are taught to be tough. Some of us wish we were softer. Some feel too emotional, while others struggle to express emotion at all.

In this episode, I explore the many ways women relate to femininity, vulnerability, strength, confidence, and identity. I talk about why so many women feel like they're somehow "doing womanhood wrong," and whether femininity is something we perform or something we define for ourselves.

Maybe there's no single way to be feminine. Maybe being a woman is a lot more expansive than we've been taught to believe.

  • 8: Choosing Yourself When No One Claps for It

In this episode, I talk about the quiet, lonely side of healing — the part nobody really sees.

The part where you still have to go to work, answer texts, pay bills, keep up with responsibilities, and somehow continue living your life while your heart is breaking in private.

I read Reddit stories about healing from heartbreak alone and reflect on how healing often isn’t dramatic or inspiring — it’s repetitive, exhausting, and deeply invisible at times. I also talk about sticking to routines, rebuilding your life slowly, and learning that no one is going to applaud the small, consistent choices that help you move forward.

Sometimes healing is just choosing yourself quietly over and over again.

  • 7: Who Am I Outside of Relationships?

I’ve been realizing how much of my emotional world revolved around relationships, validation, and being chosen — and after this breakup, I started questioning who I even am outside of all of that.

In this episode, I talk about losing yourself in relationships, why heartbreak can leave you feeling disconnected from your identity, and why I’m choosing not to date right now. I dive into wanting to become my own person again, rebuilding a life that feels like mine, and learning how to feel whole without centering romance.

I also read a Reddit story about losing yourself in a relationship and reflect on how easy it is to slowly abandon parts of yourself without even realizing it.

This episode is about selfhood, womanhood, healing, and figuring out who you are when your life stops revolving around someone else.

  • 6: The One That Got Away… Or Just the One I Couldn’t Let Go Of?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of “the one that got away” — and whether that person was actually the one… or just someone I couldn’t fully let go of.

In this episode, I talk about why unfinished endings hit so hard, the ego wounds that come with heartbreak, and why I no longer believe in “right person, wrong time.” Because if someone was truly right for you, would they have left you confused, abandoned, and questioning your worth?

I also read Reddit stories about heartbreak, attachment, and struggling to let go of someone who felt special — and unpack the difference between real compatibility and emotional attachment.

Sometimes healing is realizing that the person you thought was “the one that got away” just wasn’t capable of loving you the way you needed.

  • 5: I’m Done Accepting Less | Healing, Self-Worth & The Love We Think We Deserve

I can finally say I’m starting to feel better… but I’m also not the same.

In this episode, I talk about where I’m at in my healing right now — feeling more stable, more clear, but still learning and processing everything that happened. I dive into the idea that we accept the love we think we deserve, and how easy it is to settle for less when you’re emotionally attached or hoping someone will change. I read Reddit posts about self-worth and not accepting bare minimum love, and reflect on what I’ve learned from my own experience.

This episode is about choosing yourself, raising your standards, and making the decision to never abandon yourself for someone else again.

Because at the end of the day… the love you accept sets the standard for how you’re treated.

  • 4: What to Actually Do After a Breakup (When You Feel Stuck) | Pouring Into Yourself

I kept hearing “focus on yourself”… but no one really explains what that actually looks like when you’re still heartbroken.

In this episode, I talk about what it’s been like to start pouring into myself after my breakup — not in a perfect, “I’m healed” kind of way, but in small, real, everyday ways that have helped me feel a little more grounded.

From getting back into the gym and building routines, to finding comfort in quiet, low-pressure moments, I share the things I’ve been doing to slowly rebuild my life — even when I don’t fully feel better yet.

I also read and react to Reddit posts with ideas and perspectives on how to invest in yourself during healing.

  • 3: What De-Centering Men Actually Looks Like

I still think about him… but I don’t reach out.

In this episode, I talk about what it actually looks like to start de-centering men. Not in theory, but in real life, while you’re still healing.

I share the small ways I’ve been choosing myself again: getting back into my routines, going to the gym, spending time with friends, journaling, and starting this podcast. Not because I’m fully “over it,” but because I’m learning how to stop making someone else the center of my emotional world.

I also read and reflect on Reddit posts about what de-centering men looks like in practice — from no longer seeking male validation to becoming the main character in your own life. As one commenter put it, it’s about “not factoring men’s approval into every decision” and learning to prioritize your own needs and fulfillment.

Because maybe healing isn’t about not thinking about them anymore… maybe it’s about choosing yourself even when you still do.
