Bri & Alli head to the spooky canals of Venice to examine Agatha Christie’s classic 1969 detective novel Hallowe'en Party and see how Hercule Poirot’s chilling mystery translates to Kenneth Branagh’s supernatural thriller film adaptation, A Haunting in Venice. Set inside a decaying, eerie palazzo, the story follows a retired, reluctant Poirot as he attends a Halloween seance that takes a sinister turn when a guest is murdered under seemingly impossible, ghostly circumstances. 

 

Synopsis: 

During a Halloween gathering in a small community, a murder mystery unfolds after a 

young girl claims she once witnessed a real crime, but no one believes her at the time. 

Years later, when she is found dead, detective Hercule Poirot is drawn into a haunting 

investigation where hidden secrets, superstition, and suspicion blur the line between 

reality and the supernatural. As Poirot digs deeper, he uncovers a tightly woven web of 

motives behind a seemingly impossible crime.
