Rodri J. Rodriguez is President and CEO of Irdor, Inc./Rodri Entertainment, an international entertainment production company. In 1990, Rodriguez created the MARIACHI USA Festival, the preeminent and first-of-its-kind event at the legendary Hollywood Bowl. In 2017, the festival expanded to the Austin360 Amphitheater in Austin, Texas. In 1991, Ms. Rodriguez founded the MARIACHI USA Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to keeping the traditional mariachi art form alive for generations to come through intensive music instruction for K-12 students in California.

Rodriguez’ international production work has extended to Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Israel, and Europe for music legend luminaries such as; David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Herbie Hancock, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine, Vikki Carr, Sammy Davis Jr., Julio Iglesias, Jose Jose, Vicente Fernandez, Natalie Cole, Sara Vaughn and Stevie Wonder.

A staunch advocate of Latino/a small business, Rodriguez is among the 25 entrepreneurs who, in 2006 became a founding shareholder of ProAmerica Bank, the first Latino owned bank in California that caters to burgeoning Latino entrepreneurship.

Rodriguez has been recognized with numerous awards, recognitions and appointments. In 2002, she was elected to the Los Angeles County Fair Association, the first Latina elected to this Board. Rodriguez has also served the community as: Cultural Affairs Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles (1984–1990) Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Hollywood Arts Council (1998 - 2006); Member of the Grammy Foundation National Education Advisory Council (1999 to 2004); Member, Ford Theatre Foundation Latino Advisory Board; Founding Member, Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE); and UNICEF Leadership Committee.

Additional award highlights include: Entertainment Award from Hispanic Magazine; The Aurora Award for the documentary “Latinas the Spirit of California” created for the California Museum for History, Women and the Arts; National Latina Business Women’s Association Business Woman of the Year; YWCA Silver Achievers Entrepreneur of the Year; the Hollywood Arts Council’s Charlie Chaplin Award; the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce ‘Hollywood’s Women of Distinction’ Award and the National Hispanic Academy of Media Arts and Sciences Entrepreneur of the Year.

Rodriguez is a native of Havana, Cuba having traveled to the United States, alone, as a child of the “Pedro Pan” exodus of 14,000 children from Cuba and subsequently lived in foster care in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rodriguez currently resides in Studio City, California.
