Thomas Sankara v. Western Imperialism (and Air Conditioning)

We discuss Sankara’s rise to power and his amazing foresight on many policy issues (and lack of foresight on the clear and present danger of his boy Blaise). Along the way, we learn that the French had beef with kids on bicycles and people picking fruit trees, that flag designs are important, that it’s tough to convince African ministers to give up AC and luxury rides and that maybe, just maybe, the beef between Sankara and Blaise started on the soccer pitch.
